I'm so sorry to hear about this theft, I own a blue chi myself and having had a dog stolen understand what you are going through, I will keep checking the regular adverts for blue and choc puppies. There are several litters being advertised at the moment on preloved and gumtree. I wish you the very best of luck and hope you are reunited soon with them. I'm sorry I'm not on social media but I'm asking friends to share on their facebooks.

Have shared with the public on FB. Surely these won't be easy to sell on, if the colours are that unusual?

Three of the puppies stolen from a house in Shotton

The owner of eight rare and expensive chihuahua puppies stolen this morning from a house in Shotton has revealed how she came home to find them gone.

Susan Warren was out of the house taking her seven-year-old son to school when thieves broke into her home and made off with the young dogs worth a total of £8,000.

The culprits struck at the property in Bridge Street between 8.30am-9am and also stole some jewellery.

Aged between six and eight weeks old, the stolen dogs are a mix chocolate and lilac in colour.

Susan said the animals' unusual colouring makes them extremely rare and she had been advertising them for sale for around £1,000 each.

The stolen pets were from a larger group of 12 puppies, born in three separate litters.

She said: “I was out of the house for 20 minutes to take my son to school and when I came back the house had been ransacked.

“They had taken eight out of the 12 puppies. They took all of the lilac ones and most of the chocolate ones, leaving the least valuable behind.

“I think that they have been taken to sell on as they can’t be bred from at this age.

“One of the mothers Lucky is absolutely frantic – she has lost all of her puppies and doesn’t know what to do.

“The thieves didn’t take any of the five adults either - just the chocolate and lilac puppies because they are so rare.”

One of the stolen chihuahuas had already been reserved by buyers from Manchester.

According to Susan the prospective new owners had paid £100 deposit and were supposed to be picking up the dog next month.

She said she believes the theft was planned and thinks the thieves set their sights on her dogs after seeing the adverts.

Susan added: “I began advertising before they were born.

“They haven’t been out of the house.

"But I often take the five adults for a walk which is obviously noticeable and a few weeks ago someone tried the back door whilst my son was in the kitchen but luckily it was locked.

"They also ransacked the rest of the house and stole some jewellery but I’m not bothered about that.”

Police are now appealing for information.

A spokesman for North Flintshire Policing Team said: “If anyone notices anything suspicious, or has any information relating to this incident please contact North Wales Police by dialling 101 quoting reference S010469."
