Have been following this closely, being a sheltie owner myself I know how hard it can be to catch them when they are on the run.
So pleased lacy is back with her loving family x

Thank you Lacy - this morning at 7am I wrote a comment on one of my shares - come on Lacy show yourself - it is time to get home. I was shopping when I got the phone call from her Mum to say they had caught her. Thank you Team Lacy for all your devotion and dedication - Lacy obviously owns your hearts - as my shelties have done for 50yrs - I hope I was a bit of help to you - passing on the knowledge I have gained - NOW KEEP SAFE LOVELY LACY.

Wonderful news, what a relief for the family...

Absolutely over the moon that Lacy is home. It is always a relief when lost dog is returned safely but there is always extra emotion attached to the dogs that we know are extremely timid and will pose a real challenge. I can honestly say that the efforts by Lacy's family have been mammoth. They have searched all day every day and into the early hours of the morning. They have been truly devoted to Lacy and I am thrilled that she is safely reunited with them. Well done Team Lacy!! Welcome home Lacy!! <3

Another text from Trisha: Family staked out the landfill site last night and could see eye shine but couldn't confirm it was Lacy. Got a call from landfill this morning to say that she had been sighted and a lady had hands on but Lacy had got away. Family rushed down and could see her on the other side of the river so split up and had both sides of the river covered. Her dad managed to get ahead of her and just got down on his knees and called her and she went straight to him. She's had a bath and is going to the vets fir a check up but all seems well. we are all crying!!,

Welcome home beautiful Lacy

Just had word from Volunteer Trisha that Lacy has been found, no more details at present I expect she will update us later

Lots of work done today, searching, postering, scenting and a feed station set up. As I left Lacy's family at about 4pm they were preparing to take up positions along the route that we think Lacy ran yesterday evening at approx the same time in the hope that she would pass the same way today. I've had no updates since so presume that she wasn't seen. Will continue with the search tomorrow and, again, many thanks for all the advice....it is much appreciated xx

I've just shared a post of a FOUND sheltie on the Dog Lost fb page, it was found on the Fylde Lancashire, nr. Blackpool, today or last night. I spotted it on the Dog Lost North West fb page, finder said Dog Warden was informed. Could it be Lacy?

That's incredibly helpful Sheltie folk. Thank you very much for all the advice. I'll ensure that Katrina checks her "others' file now and has a good read through the information that you've sent x

I agree Shelties Mum and You have had experience with this - I have also had - oh is that a miniature Lassie, etc. Or oh what breed is that - as mine are tri colours. I am therefore watching all sites I can where found dogs are posted. In this way you and I can help while Katrina and family do the leg work.

Just a point to remember. It's really great she's microchipped but a finder might describe her in a different way. I keep being asked what type of breed my shelties are which astonishes me, but they do.

Advice used when other Shelties have gone missing - with good results - by RAYDED

Katrina I have sent you some info on advice used before to get Shelties home - it will have gone to your 'other' message folder. It reads -

a feeding station is vital to keep this little lady in the area!!! if she was seen inthe field adjacent to the track, then it needs a drag trail all around the perimeter and around the perimeter of any other places she was sighted.. especialy gateways and gaps where she,s been seen going through HAPPILY not chased, also drag around the resevoirs but make sure that they ALL lead back to a chosen site for the trap..for a suitable drag trail i use a bucket sized container, with a fitted lid.i boil up greasy breast of lamb, chicken, throw in a couple of tins of butchers tripe mix (tripe mix is best)plenty of water.and i then use a pillow case on a dog lead.. dipping it in to the mixture i walk my perimeters and obviously redipping every 50 yards or so..but a good idea is to drop say a nice spoonfull of the tripe or a bit of chicken, just to get em excited!!! it works.. but remember 4 very important things..1 all trails must lead to an area that you choose, idealy where you can be sat quietly in a car a safe distance from the trap. 2.. if you stumble across the dog you are after say nothing at all ..about turn and run away, taking all pressure off the dog you could let it see you throw something away, as though it was your chip paper or Mc Donalds junk.keep going and still head for your trap site.. 3..the trap site should contain the best of QUALITY food not a few bonio,s or dried complete food, cooked chicken,, liver etc. and very important COVER it using a piece of old carpet or an old sack, this stops the crows and magpies nicking it. the drag trail will last up to 24 hrs..but keep checking the trap station with the good stuff.. and finally 3..i have found that after 48hrs fear takes over the best of dogs and they are to frightened to go to anyone this includes the owner!! and thats scarey..DON,T look at them, speak to them, just have that lump of good food in tissue paper ,so they can see you throw it either towards them or by them .. then retreat!! i have tried to get in touch with Andy but perhaps someone could pass this on to whoever is trying to cach POPPY. another MEGA important thing is to make sure the trap is not only big enough but strong enough to hold what ever sized dog you are after..NEVER EVER leave a trap set unattended!!! you can catch cats other peoples animals,, and if the dog you are after see,s a trapped animal in that cage, trust me they all send out the same message and it will keep well away... i hope some of this will be of use to you good people on DOG LOST UK because thats what you are...that JAYNE LADY from head office has started something QUITE UNIQUE here and whats most important!!! IT FLIPPIN WELL WORKS!!!

Shared on all sheltie club Facebook sites, both this and Katrina's post. Make sure the postmen, paperboys and other people who are about early and late, when it is quiet and put a message onto the posters not to chase her, or make loud noises, but to make contact with the number above, immediately.
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
Keep returning to the spot she was lost as shelties often return after lying low. Approach carefully and slowly as likely to be in a spooky state of mind. This breed is very able to survive in the wild as they're tough. I shall put the word out. Everything crossed for a quick reunion.
