We've had another possible sighting of Bruno Butch in the Thorne area. Seen Tuesday morning around lunchtime walking between the School and Cemetery. It would seem the sightings are coming in, in the morning between 10am and 1pm in and around Thorne market place. Any help that could be given in the Thorne area would be most appreciated! It would seem that there is a pattern forming with the sightings so the dog could be being fed by someone locally... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have postered all around Thorne today, in the hope the someone somewhere may know something. I urge everyone in the Hatfield, Thorne, Austerfield, Newington, Hatfield Woodhouse and even Wroot areas to please print out posters and put them in your local areas! Please be vigilant. Bruno Butch only has a small patch of white on his chest and had an allergy problem at the time of his disappearence.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes, it does look like him. Just as I was getting all excited I saw the date on the photo - Aug 2006 - and Bruno Butch went missing on 28th October. I will give them a ring though, just in case the date on their camera is wrong!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

http://hometown.aol.co.uk/ianwebblara On the above, Ian's site has a collie cross for rehoming. approx 5 yrs old and is also black/white. There are similarities. Please check it out. Dog is called Sammy and listed in the rehoming section. The picture is side profile but there is definitely greying around the mouth, just like Butch's pic?? Worth a look. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik, thanks for that, you would think they would be able to find a space for such a moving story, particularly at this time of year. I was thinking more of the tv. which could have made such a difference. When you see (and I try not to) the absolute piffle (not my first choice of word) they do put on, gmtv etc. and as for Paul O'Grady ! If they really do read all their e mails and he is such a kind/dog lover, how could they possibly not think this was worth mentioning ? In view of the **** they do read out ! Now I am getting agitated !!! Have a nice Christmas and thank you for trying.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I believe note of possible sighting in THORNE is more chance of being Sam from Hatfield, I believe looking for Bruno 14 miles away in Thorne will be a red herring and would lessen chances of finding him. I will be looking for the old lad shortly DONNY WAYNE Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It is deffinate that the found dog in Worcester is not Bruno Butch, although the likeness was truly uncanny. Its such a shame as I really thought we had found him there. I spoke with Bruno's owner yesterday and he still hasn't heard a thing. He's absolutely desperate to get him back. Lets hope we hear something... And soon!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there anyone local to this RSPCA who could check the dogs they have in? (I don't trust anyone to check properly on a phone call!) What really worries me about this boy is that because of his age/not chipped/bald patches etc he is a prime candidate for "PTS" after his 7 days is up with some (not all) establishments.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jan S - Great minds and all that - was hoping that the Bawtry dog was Bruno and then Dave could have stepped in! Never say never, who knows! Hopefully the People will (or have) contact with Dog Lost and take at least one of the stories. I'll phone the Express tomorrow or Monday just in case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry Tittania777 only just 'looked in' and seen your question. I e mailed both Express and Mail, with picture 'cos it was about 6am this morning and I had to go out, but needed to have a 'rant' first !! I was only in for about 10mins 9ish when I put message on here. Mail have replied (twice) to say it's been received and will be looked into, though no commitment. Express, nothing, yet anyway. Fantastic that you have got the 'People' interested. Wouldn't it be great if they could extend the publicity to Dave, blind puppy thrown on rubbish dump, saved and then stolen by ******* who have probably already dumped him again, pushing our luck to ask ????Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No luck on the sighting of the black dog in Bawtry, but have leaflet ped both Bruno Butch's and Sam's poster in that neigbourhood. Have postered and leafleted Bawtry in the hope someone may have seen/know something. Going to try to get to Bawtry Car Auction this evening and get more leaflets and posters out. We're trying to determine whether the found dog is Bruno Butch *fingers crossed* and have got more information from his owner. Hoping to take posters around Epworth, Thorne and Westwoodside tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beloved dogs going missing is obviously not important in some peoples eyes, even a sad case like this. It shows how devided the nation is and where they think their priorities lay. Maybe there should be a tv programme specifically for lost dogs. I am sure it would get more notice than some of the rubbish on now.!!! I do hope Bruno Butch is soon back with his owner who needs him. Stay safe lovely boy. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately, BrodyMurphy, its because these scum do not get whats coming to them that these things happen! We have become, as a nation, too soft. I cant believe that one of the national news programmes wont carry this - like someone said with it being this close to Christmas, they usually like a heart-wrenching story, and this certainly is that. For some reason I've completely missed this one until now and I have got to tell you, I am in absolute shock! I really cannot find the words to say how I feel just now - sick, upset, angry, hurt! What the hell is this country coming to when some evil, sick people would do this to an innocent, helpless old man and his best friend. I hope to god that the police are assisting in this? This is just awful. I feel utter disgust and contempt at these idiots and I sincerely hope they get what is coming to them. I know I would certainly NOT like to get my hands on them because I would end up in jail. If there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to contact me. I am in Edinburgh but will do anything I can. Please, please, please anyone who can help do everything they can. We need to get this beautiful boy home! Have been to see the owner and photo is now on site. Bruno Butch was taken from an area between Hatfield woodhouse and Austerfield. At the time of his disappearence the owner heard a car with an extremely loud engine trying to back out of the driveway. He believes they headed towards Bawtry a long the A614. Owner has no internet access so could helpers in the DN postcode areas please help putting up posters in the area and look out for a dog matching Bruno Butch's description. Thank you!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Words fail me-just how low will they go. They probably thought it was funny- bet they don't when they get found. Hope Bruno Butch is home safely soon. Prisons always have people coming & going-poster & quick-even ask prison-I don't think all the inmates would be too impressed either.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can anyone help with press coverage on this one?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I gather GMTV were talking about the increase in anti-social behaviour this morning, this has to be about as anti social as you can get ! Surely they would cover this if they knew about it ? I wonder if the owner would be up to being interviewed ? even non dog lovers (not a breed I identify with) would be moved and horrified by this crime.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ditto Jan S. - just when you think you have heard it all, it gets a whole lot worse. Poor Bruno Butch and poor, poor owner. Hope it's not long before these two old friends are reunited. Come on low-life, try & do the decent thing for once in your sad lives! Come home very soon ol' boy! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't trust myself to comment.....like everyone who has posted so far I am stunned, the horribleness of 'people (?)' what would you call them ? it just takes your breath away ! Surely this has to be a story the national press would cover, this poor man must get his dear old friend back a.s.a.p. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Words fail me here. Obviously the scum didn't think the dog is probably this man's best friend and companion and an old dog at that. Surely there would be CCTVs near a prison? I do hope the man is reunited with Bruno Butch as soon as possible love Sylv xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
