May I ask how did residents around that area react when you told them don't approach him
My BMD went missing and dog club people keep chasing her as she has similar personality as your dog
Some people even throw message joke about her nervous personality Last edited: 2024-02-20 20:27:22 by Tammy

Having seen the update as to where he was found I checked it out on the map and it means he travelled nearly 40 miles from where he lives. I would imagine he was picked up and then dumped there. Great news that he's back safe and sound with his family and none the worse for wear x

Thanks everyone for your help and support.Murphy was found in Delamere,Cheshire, after 12 days missing.Goodness knows how he got so far from home.We were reunited on Saturday. He was 2kg lighter and had fleas, but otherwise in tip-top form and delighted to see us.We wouldn't have got him without the help and publicity.

I updated contact numbers for MURPHY late last night via mobi and bumped his page. Lots of activity going on with helpers getting together to help in the search for MURPHY. THANKS a MILLION to each and everyone of you who is supporting his distraught family.

Please note the CONTACT NUMBERS are not owners or family. If anyone wants to help please ring one of the numbers or if on fb join the group.

Rooting for family and helpers to get news and closure we can all feel for them at this horrible time and what they are going through. xxx

The dog was not with anyone, can you put lost notice on the gate at the little pull-in before the lower barn? That is where this lady parks regularly, she might see it, if she can help
victoria
I was walking up Rivi, near Castle on Tuesday & wed 28th/29th Oct, met a lady who walks a male black lab, she says she saw a dog similar to Murphy running up to other dogs on the Wednesday I think, not sure if it was Murphy?

Im a long way a way but have shared on my Facebook page. Chippenham, Wiltshire. Good luck finding your lovely boy. X

Has there been any luck in getting any MEDIA coverage and local radio/s to air something? Papers as far out should be contacted, Sure this would be good coverage due to the circumstances of how he went missing and having a flexi lead still attached.

MURPHY may well of been picked up and FINDER think he has been dumped and may also not have Internet access.

Not everyone will know what his breed in, he has already been mistaken for a FOUND St Bernard.

Thanks Riverlady (I put request in for Majorjet)
Was tweeting & retweeting for a while last night and have lots of retweets today .. Dogs Trust favorited it, Dogs Today magazine, DogOwnersUK, Victoria Spicer (Horse & Country TV & Press officer), lots of local Horwich people, Horwich Cycling Club, the Cow Shed Horwich, RMI Harriers, ICNHorwich, HorwichGossip, livingINBL and Good Vet Guide. So the word is out locally and am hoping this will bring in a sighting or 2.
Come on Murphy .. show someone where you are 'cos it's time to go home.
Good luck.

hi Pam , we did George's Lane and the area you suggested , stopping people and giving out leaflets , also the stables on Matchmoor ... We also did scout rd and back along Belmont Rd , I know you said you would do the Black Dog at Belmont , so we just put up a poster on a lamppost outside ..as well as giving more leaflets all up that area ... We stopped everyone we met and also left leaflets on all the cars we passed .. We did up on the Moors , not sure we're we were , but did it as well as back at the Barns , to catch the late arrivals .... Again putting leaflets on all windscreens ... And speaking to many people as well as giving them a leaflet...... Took Scissors like you suggested ,incase he was stuck with his lead ..... but didn't see him at all , took Binoculars and stopped periodically to see if we could spot him , but no luck .... Thank you for all your help ....
Pam
Susan - all leaflets distributed. They have put them on each table in the tea rooms. Also left at top and bottom barns. Let me know if you need me to print anymore. P

Tricolour thanks for posting on MURPHY's page, your help has been a godsend in the past with other Bernese on DogLost. Any help and support you can give the family will be greatly appreciated. If there are any helpers in the area who could do an organised search that would be great. It is miles away from where I live and I do not know the area at all.

Will tweet for this little man....he may be stuck in the undergrowth /bush/tree as he still has his lead attached xx
DogLostOwl
Pam and searchers, remember to check any barns or shelters including ruins in case he is hiding there. If he is shy of people he does not know, he may be more likely to go uphill away from roads and habitation. Take a whistle as the sound carries better than a voice in this windy weather, and he may be more likely to respond to it than to a strange voice. Last edited: 2014-11-01 19:16:29 by Owl

Will drive up that way on my way home and then if still missing tomorrow morning when it's light will take the dogs for a good walk in that area. If you get a sighting and need help email pam@applevideo.co.uk. Only 1/2 a mile form Wilderswood and know it quite well.
