With owners permission and with tears in my eyes I am moving this boys page to Rainbow Bridge as there now seems little doubt it was him involved in the RTA shortly after he went missing on the 19th
Thankyou for all those who were able to bring closure to his heartbroken family
Run free at Rainbow Bridge sweetheart, my thoughts are with your owner

When i was a teenager my own beloved Hector a handsome Labrador, died in front of me in a RTA on a busy road when we were on our travels on our canal boat :(
I have never forgotten that harrowing experience & the loss of my beautiful soulmate - If He had escaped from the boat & died on that road without us knowing I would hope that we would have been able to find out from Highways & not been searching for him for months on end with no hope :( - so yes, I am sooo sorry that this poor Dog had to die but I know that his/her owner - whoever they are, need to have 'closure' x
Ellie
Thankyou weimlover for all your help. and confirming date. I appreciate as a dog lover this is something you would not want to have to do but may bring closure for owners, I will try to find out more if I can

Ellie - I asked the lady in control room of H/ways if details were always logged & she said yes, they are.
The person who i saw posting was Alicia Harvey & it was on 19th October - i had tagged her in a post to ask the exact time/date but am still waiting for a reply.
Ellie
I hope this isn't the case molly. I have emailed you again and will contact the Highways Agency in the morning to see if I can find out more.
molly
Katz-n-Grey's posted on a collie missing in Tamworth that she saw the body of a collie just south of the service station at stafford if this was on the 19th October then I do think it is the collie I am looking for as this is where he lived and he has still not returned home if this is the case thank-you for the information and help given
Ellie
My text message requesting picture is not sending, can you add photo please or send to my email if that's easier and I can do it for you

molly
Thank-you highways agency looked yesterday but found nothing he went missing 19 October but don't know when the lady saw the dog thank-you for your help

I am so sorry that you have lost your dog & am not meaning to cause any upset by posting this - I have just scrolled back thro' posts on Find Harvey - where I asked as to who I should phone - here are the comments in case they help - I did not have any Case no. from the lady who called me back.
Dawn Goulden Was Hanrahan Gill it is illegal to stop on the motorway for safety reasons - the Highways Agency are the ones to speak to 0300 123 5000 give them as much information regarding the location. Its so sad ...... hopefully they will collect the dog & scan him/her x

Gill Allen H/Agency have just rung me back - The deceased Dog has been picked up (time unknown by the kind lady caller) but unfortunately is NOT 'chipped.
I mentioned Harvey's Law & asked if any photos were taken - the caller did not know but said could be distressing - I agreed but said that photos could at least record colourings. markings. collar etc. to at least give owner 'closure', rather than searching for months or years, for their beloved family pet. She agreed but obviously could give me no more details.
The area of this incident is M6 Motorway South of Stafford Services (according to original post) & thought to be a Border Collie but H/Agency Lady could not confirm this to me.
I hope this helps, although very distressing & upsetting x

I saw 2 separate comments on a Facebook Group ( 1 was on DogLost.Co.Uk on Facebook) about the deceased dog & I was concerned that he/she may have been left there without being reported to the Authorities.
I rang the Highways & a kind lady rang me back to say that the Dog had been picked up & scanned but no 'chip was found. I asked if any photographs were taken (purely for Identification purposes as no 'chip found). She said that this would be distressing for the owner but I pointed out that altho' very distressing, at least any markings or collar descriptions wold at least give some 'closure' altho' heartbreaking x
The lady could not confirm breed of dog or male/female.
the phone cal was made / returned on 20th October
