Apparently, according to reports locally,(next village to me) the £16,000 price tag was a deliberate typo to attract the attention. Seemed to do the trick! Good she is back.

A rare British Bulldog puppy that was stolen in October has been reunited with its owner following an appeal by Surrey Police. The lilac puppy worth £16,000, named Lila, was taken from her home in Tadworth on October 17 last year, but following a re-appeal for help in finding her on Wednesday, she was found yesterday evening (Thursday 16 January) in the Oxford area. Officers were told that a man attended the owner’s address having expressed an interest in buying the puppy, but after being given it to hold he ran out of the property, allegedly assaulting a relative of the dog breeder on his way. Investigating officer Detective Constable Eloise Lock said: “This story proves just how much a part the public, the media and social media can help with our investigations as without it we may not have found her. For that we cannot thank the public enough. “We had a number of calls with information about where Lila might be after the coverage the story got in regional and national media. As a direct result of the appeal we attended an address in the Wantage area of Oxfordshire where we found her and thankfully reunited her with her owner that night. “Although Lila has now been found I would still ask anyone who has any more information about this case to contact us with anything they think would help with the investigation.” A 29-year-old woman from the Wantage area has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. She has been released on bail until a later date. Five men - two 25-year-olds, and others aged 24 and 26 who were arrested on November 28, and a 27-year-old, arrested on December 23, have been released on bail until February 19 and 20. Why on earth have they been released on bail??? They were involved or connected to a crime and whilst they are free, they can continue to move Lila even further on via their seedy world!...The law is far too soft in this country!

FIVE men from Oxford have been arrested after a puppy worth £16,000 was stolen, police have said.

Surrey Police said yesterday that a rare lilac British Bulldog puppy was taken from the breeder’s home in Tadworth, Surrey, in October.


The force said that a man had visited the breeder after saying he wanted to buy the puppy. But after being given it to hold he ran out of the property, assaulting a relative of the dog breeder as he ran.

The whereabouts of the puppy remains unknown, but police said it may be in the Oxford area.

Two men aged 25 and three others aged 24, 26 and 27 were arrested on conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have been released on police bail until February 19 and 20.

The government would like a lot of things rather deny its happening, it's easier for them that way. That's why every member of dog lost should help to shout it from roof tops to make public aware as until it happens they don't realise. That's why I wish an undercover tv programme was done has nobody got connections? Hope the cars forensics achieve something at least!

Due to the attack, and the fact that this puppy is so valuable and original I would have thought the media would be interested in this which would really help to make her too hot to handle. The owners has put on facebook the people who took her made a viewing to buy her beat owner and her neice up and nearly ran her daughter over. The car they drove was a grey audi reg yy06zda
