It has come to light today that in fact Layla was found by one of the search team members from her Facebook group Let Find Layla. Jackie Peters found her hiding in a bush and coaxed her out with sausages she had taken along in hope of seeing her and quickly slipped a spare lead on. As she was walking her own 3 dogs she located the nearest poster and called the numbers given.
After a few attempts she got through to what she assumed would be Kea or her family. It now appears that the telephone number belonged to the dog sitter who is claiming that she found her when in fact Jackie had telephoned her to let her know

Layla is home and well. Covered in ticks and a few lumps bumps and scratches but nothing serious and has been bathed and wounds attended to. photos of her now home and smelling sweeter are on her Facebook group 'let's find Layla' .
A further search was undertaken this morning and she was sighted but not caught. It was by chance an elderly couple who had been walking there dog had just returned to their car and put their own dog in when they turned round and saw her and grabbed her quick realising after seeing posters it was missing Layla.

Further sightings this evening of Layla in the Talbot woods area behind St Marks Church but despite searchers arriving quickly she hasn't yet been found. Another search party being organised to go out again tomorrow

It has become apparent this evening that the signing reported to be in Firs Glen Road Appears to have been a red herring.
The report was given by a lady who didn't soeak English too well and it is now believed that her sighting had in fact been in the area of an earlier sighting near to Talbot Primary School in Talbot Drive. She gave mention of a building site which I believe I have located this evening at the other end of a tarmacced path which runs down from the end of Talbot Drive. This path leads to Langside Avenue (just off Alder Hills) . The building site which is in a quiet dead end road looks very overgrown and access not possible in the dark tonight.
Many searchers have been taking the bridle way entrance onto the common to search.
More posters going out in this area tomorrow when Kea will take a fresh look in daylight. Last edited: 2014-09-22 00:30:18 by Gnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset

A further sitting now reported on Thurdday evening at apps 9pm again outside the BMW garage. Frustrating as so many people were in the area searching at that time.
There has since been a call to say Layla was sighted at Talbot Primary School in Talbot Dirve at apps 3.30 pm yesterday (Friday) which is very close. Talbot Drive also leads to one of the many entrances to the common.
Support has been amazing with lots of people searching even into the early hours
I will be heading out to the area again today in hope of finding her.

Springer Sharon, I'm sorry I didn't see your message.......
There was a sighting of Layla in the road outside the BMW garage early this evening hence I dashed out soon after getting home from work .
There have been quite a few of us out looking this evening but no further reported sightings.
More posters are going out tomorrow in this area . Vets and pet shops on the WALLISDOWN roundabout are aware. Turbury common a possible link between Genferness ave where the early sightings were and Wallsidown

Reports of a sighting late last night came in of Layla rummaging through bins by the Aldi store by the roundabout in Wallisdown. Worryingly the person that saw her said she ran off towards the roundabout and then heard a loud yelp. Volunteers went out searching but found nothing.
There is a common which runs between the earlier sighting area in Glenferness Avenue and Alder hills which runs up towards the Wallisdown roundabout .
I am aware that people have been looking in this area but due to this sighting a new concentrated search is now needed. Will add details of any search parties being organised as and when I have them.
Please comment here if you are able to help

Another sighting this afternoon aprox 3pm on glenfurness avenue where east avenue comes onto it.. I'm told some amazing people have been giving up their time to help search. Posters have been going up all round that area, into shops, schools, vets, the uni etc .
Hoping Layla stays in the area and remains safe until she is caught x

A further sighting of Layla this evening at app 9.45pm running down the pavement on Glenferness Road away from the direction of Bournemouth University. A few of us have been out searching but no sign of her :( If she continues to run in the direction she was seen heading it is possible she may be seen in Coy Pond, Westbourne or Bournemouth Town Center or gardens areas.
Hopefully she will be resting overnight and someone will spot her in the morning

news of a possible sighting mid afternoon today 15/9 behind Sainsburys , Alder Hills, Poole

Layla is a rescue dog taken on by her elderly owner appx 4 months ago who unfortunately has had a fall and is currently in hospital. Layla is in temporary foster and today slipped her collar in the car and escaped from the window. She is a nervous dog and is not familiar with the area she is lost in.
She is chipped and have asked for the chip company to be contacted and the chip number advised to Doglost.

Owner is out searching for Layla at the moment so I have spoken to the lady who is manning the phone. As Layla has only just arrived they do not have any photos. She ran off from Winston at 10.00 this morning and was later seen in the Ensbury Park area. Dog warden informed. Luckily she is micro chipped.
