Thank you for your reply and glad to say we have a happy ending to the story. I was just pinning up the first photograph of "dog found"
and the owner found me.
No need to ask for any credentials the dog, Poppy, went into a frenzy of delight and I asked the owner to please invest in a name disc in case she the dog planned future escapades.
