Absolutely fantastic! Well done to everyone who worked hard for this lovely little chappie. You did it! Don't think it had nothing to do with you because quite often things happen that are invisible to the eye. Sounds and smells and even just sheer will and energies could be picked up by a dog. You did so brilliantly with the feed station and camera out there! You deserved to get this little one home. You listened and did everything we advised. Scotty felt your love! I am SOOOOOO happy that he is home. He can have a lovely life now - just make sure he doesn't have the wanderlust again! :-) Bless him. (Thanks Steph for letting me know - I couldn't get on the compuer before now). Sending kisses to Scotty! xxx

I have today walked the Downs Link from Southwater Country Park through to West Grinstead Station, handing out leaflets and putting up posters at every intersection along this track and relevant points in between. Other team members are doing the same in the Partridge Green area.
SuzanneK9
We scented the area where Scotty was spotted on Saturday morning and have set up a food station. Food will be out dawn and dusk. The owner has even set up a wildlife camera to see who/what is actually eating the food if the bowl is empty in the morning! So far, Scotty hasn't returned. We have since be told of a couple of sightings last week in Partridge Green. We started postering the area yesterday, and will continue to do so today. There are no further sightings since the 5:30pm on on Saturday, where a member of our team spotted Scotty lying and sunning himself on a grass verge near a bridal path, he got up and slowly trotted off down a bridal path. There was a big wedding in that same area that day and we are wondering if the evening events has spooked Scotty and he is on the run again, as there have been no sightings since. Please everyone share his page and if there are any locals that can come forward and offer their help it will really be appreciated. We really need the areas leading to Horsham postered and the area is vast. Thanks to everyone, so far for you help x

No sightings since Saturday - I was part of the search/poster/leaflet party on Sunday and will be out again today to do the same. There are a lot of people trying to cover the huge area where Scotty has been sighted but we need to know where he is resting up so a feeding station can be established.

Fantastic! Bumping his page. This is part of his triangle. The more sightings you get, the more you can plot his course and then you will be ready to trap him in one way or another. Once you know exactly where he passes, i.e. the garden of earlier or even a safe place along the Nuthurst sighting, you set up a feed/water station. Twice a day, same time. You watch and when he eats there, do NOT catch him! WAIT. Let him leave. He will return. Then we go to the next step. Patience pays off. Let us know so we can be here with the next advice. Well done everyone, you are doing great! x
Julie B
We have a new sighting of Scotty :-) One of the locals out searching has seen him at 4.45pm tonight in Nuthurst area. He seems to be heading towards Horsham at the moment. Stay safe Scotty xx

Suzanne, in my email, I didnlt realise Scotty did not have anowner, so where I've mentioned this adapt it to the situation. Use familiar smells where possible. The food and blanket will work. Steph has helped get back a number of Rommies, so its good she is touch with you. Fantastic. You WILL get Scotty! Remember do not shout or yell his name, he will be in survival mode and probably leg it! Quiet and calm. Go get this fur baby! x

I would suggest using the man's garden as a feed station. Am in contact with K9 Angels as received email.

Have just spoken to K-9angels . So much has been done already, well done everyone. Have just given some tips on scenting etc . Will put Scotty up on Facebook Doglost West London & request twitter.

There has been a possible new sighting of Scotty this morning. A dog matching his description was seen in a mans garden near South Lodge Hotel, nr Horsham on the A281. Please god let this be him. It is literally a 5 min drive from me as I live off the A281 too. Waiting for an update on the Find Scotty fb page x

Just got back from holiday but hope to be there tomorrow, with my own dog. Let's just focus on finding Scotty.

Have already shared but will re-share asking for help on Sunday.

I am far too far to actually be there but will be in spirit. Really hop he will soon be found x

Oh and will tweet for help to search on Sunday too x
Claire
I'm not sure where you are getting your information from Julie, the chip is registered to the rescue, the council and local kennels and shelters have already been contacted no one has picked Scotty up. Local vets have also been contacted.
DogLostMichelle Area Volunteer-Hertfordshire
Julie I'm sorry I don't know if it has been registered to anyone in the UK. I have contacted some of the local kennels but a full list would be great. Thank you for sharing and for all your help.
Julie B
What I did ask in my comment which has been blanked out though is that we are being told the chip is not registered - is this right or wrong? If it isn't - have the relevant stray kennels in the area been informed in case he has been picked up? And if not - would you like to know which kennels they are?
Julie B
And trust me there are a lot of local people down here wanting to help and we are all wanting the same outcome ... to get Scotty found safe and well. There were just several things that many of us couldn't understand - but as time has gone on this evening we are getting more information which is most helpful in moving forward. I for one am local and have been sharing like mad today to local rescues and friends.
DogLostMichelle Area Volunteer-Hertfordshire
This is not true. There have been people out searching for him just not an organised search. Please tell me how comments like this are going to help find Scotty. We need everyone to work together to find him.

As posted earlier, Scotty bolted when he first arrived at the foster home so the foster cant give anymore information than she has already. The rescue is K-9 AngelsLast edited: 2014-08-29 21:53:18 by Claire

Quite a few people are getting involved on the Find Scotty facebook page - however - we are lacking information. The poor lady fronting the facebook page is living a long way from where Scotty has gone missing - but what we need to know is about the foster home - are they actively involved and also which rescue is Scotty under? At the moment this information seems to be not forthcoming - but we need more info to be able to move forward. Time is a matter of urgency now to get Scotty safe before he moves away too far x

Ive contacted the West Sussex County Times this morning, hopefully they will be able to help. There has been a possible sighting just reported to us, on Wednesday, a dog matching his description was seen in a gateway to a field where Monkmead Lane becomes West Chiltington Road.
We are trying to arrange a mass search tomorrow, so we NEED PEOPLE TOMORROW (Saturday) as this is a rural location we need as many volunteers as possible. We need people to speak to farmers, putting up posters, giving out leaflets, printing leaflets etc. Please if you can help for just an hour or two it would be very much appreciated x

Julie B
Sorry to hear Scotty is still missing. He must be so frightened. Please can you let us know where on the A24 he was sighted? That is a real busy road. I have mentioned it before ... but have taxi companies in the area been contacted ? Their drivers could look out for him on their travels. Also, has a large missing advert been put in the West Sussex County Times ? This would also put word around that he is missing. Because of the vast green area he has gone missing, sightings are vital as there is no clue of where to start looking. Adverts need to be placed and posters put upto be able to pull those all important sightings in. Stay safe Scotty x

Bumped for sighting reports.

Have contacted Holbrook Animal Rescue as they are Horsham area and have volunteer walkers from area. If he is attempting to go home? ie Banstead he will be attempting M23 and M25 so I hope not. Will contact kennels used by dog warden in RH13 just trying to remember their name. Unfortunately we are surrounded by a lot of open areas. Can anyone give an exact area of sighting on A24 and exact area of Hosham he went from. On f/b Diana Crane
Claire
Scotty doesnt know the area atall, he had just arrived at his foster home when he bolted. He originally came from the Banstead (Surrey) area so we dont know how far afield he may of wandered or may be trying to find his way home :(

Hi Suzanne, sorry to hear that he is still missing. Where the sightings in the area where he went missing? Have you contacted Taxi companies in Horsham to ask them if they could ask their drivers to keep a watch out for him on their travels? Also it might be worth you putting a fresh shout out on the Horsham facebook page to let people know he is still missing and also asking for people willing to come and help on an organised search. I think you would probably get quite a few people volunteer to help come and look for him. Also have you thought about doing a real smelly BBQ with garlic chicken, saus and sardines in the area he was sighted as this may draw him out if he is camping out in the same place as by now he will be very hungry. If there is anywhere nearby where he was sighted that you could make a nice cosy shelter for him with a cover/blanket to lie in that may show his hairs if he were to go in there to sleep. He just needs to be kept in the area he is in. How far away from the A24 were the sightings as that is where you really want him to stay away from? xx

Please let me know when it is and I will try and come along.
SuzanneK9
We had a few sightings of Scotty on Saturday. Although we went out and searched the area, the boy wasn't found. We have had no sightings since Saturday and think he may be lying low or could have ventured further afield. Please keep looking for Scotty, we are going to arrange a larger organised search for him and anyone wishing to help, please let us know. Thank you xx
