I missed this posting! How lovely of the people to give her back to her true owner. Welcome home Ming. Let us hope this doesn't happen again.

This is the best news, not only is Ming back where she belongs but hopefully the people who adopted her will now adopt a true stray to fill the gap she will have left in their lives.

Any word on whether this furbaby is being returned to its rightful owner. What a pity she was not chipped.
DogLostGnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset
An explanation of how this has managed to happen is certainly needed. The council were informed Ming was missing, how did they not connect ? I hope the new owner though they've not done anything wrong can see that this has happened due to error and gives her back
Spindle
I would think if new owners were told the circumstances they would let her go back to owners. Plenty of rescue dogs out there that need a good home. If not, I would be on to the Western Gazette and Blackmore Vale to get the story out there. Apology from council would be nice too.!!!
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
This is appalling all those days of stress and worry that could have been avoided. It will be sad for the new keeper, but there are far too many dogs in rescue needing good homes and this precious little girl already has a home. Hopefully, they'll do the right thing and take Ming to her rightful owner.

It is the local council policy that is at fault here, not the people who have Ming. There are a two good rescues in the area that I know of Margaret Green and Poole Pound Puppy, the people that have Ming should be encouraged to contact them to rehome a dog in genuine need.

Anything I can do to help Jenny & Poochpal do not hesitate to ask.

We'll done for moving her back to red as technically she is still missing as the council made a huge mistake and they hopefully will rectify this and also the new owner will find it in there heart to hand her back to rightful owner xxxxxx
digbysmum
Heartbreaking. I do hope the new owners can find it in their hearts to return Ming to her rightful owner. Shame on the council. Hoping for a happy outcome for lovely Ming and her owner xxx
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
I am not sure why Ming was moved to the blue, please can she stay in the red at least until I have had a chance to speak to the dog warden. There is a chance the new owners will realise that the council made a mistake and let her go back to her family, hopefully with a chip.
Nanni Byron
Oh no, not another one. The council must do their utmost to help get this dog back to her poor owner. It's devastating for her and poor Ming. Hopefully the new owners will be sympathetic and understand the situation for what it is.
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire
So sad praying that the new owners will understand and reunite Ming with her owners and her daughter, disappointed that the council didn't check her out before rehoming herXxx

This is outrageous....Council will need to back track their error.....contact http://www.doglaw.co.uk for some advice and make sure you get your local paper to run a story on Ming....get the community behind this outrageous mistake xx
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
That is so sad!. I hope the council have explained the mistake to the new owners and that they are sympathetic. Thanks Jenny4 for persevering and reporting the information. I am bumping the page in the hope the new owners see that Ming was not just a stray.

I have just heard back from owners.....Ming was picked up on the same day she went missing........the West Dorset Council failed to match her to missing reports and descriptions the owners gave and have have now, to the horror of the owners, rehomed her.Unfortunately Ming was not chipped but it appears the council is at fault here as they made no effort in trying to match the dog up to the owners description of her. They are still hoping that the new owners will give her back but of course they are not obliged to.So that's the story so far..I feel so sorry for them

Thanx Spindle. What are the circumstances of how Ming went missing ? Has she wandered off from home or did she go missing on a walk, if so where ?
Spindle
Will give bit of advice.
