Hi Verity & Ed - thanks for the reunion story and funny that she found her very own BBQ. What lovely ladies (I wonder if I might know them). It's also funny that we've just bumped into Baggy Dog and partner at the nice Deli near us and so joined them for a couple of celebratory teas/coffees/hot chocolates! I also saw someone we know who regularly walks her 2 dogs in the Rec. She hadn't heard the good news and so was absolutely delighted and said she would spread the word. I also asked her to take down any posters that she might come across and we will so the same (am more than happy to remove them all from Kelsey Park and Harvington as you need to spend all your time with Minnie). Sad to hear that she'd got her leg caught up in her harness but perhaps, in funny sort of way, that was her saving grace as maybe it had latterly restricted her movements (but also makes you wonder how she managed to do that in the first place). You and Minnie were the first thing I thought about this morning, thinking how wonderful it must have been to have had Minnie at home asleep in her own bed (or perhaps sharing yours!). But, as ellejay as commented, at the end of the day, it was ALL down to your tenacity, hard work (especially hours spent cycling around the streets of Penge, Sydenham and Beckenham), postering and dedication and, let's face it, it paid off BIG TIME.Last edited: 2014-08-03 13:55:04 by Millys Mum

Hi, - it's Verity. What a great day it's been :-)

The two ladies who found her at the bowlers green had seen posters in Kelsey Park. They saw Minnie hidden under a bush behind the BBQ and recognised her. One of them called her daughter and asked her to get our numbers from the poster in the park.

Ed and I were having a poster break in Croydon Rd Rec when we recieved the call and had just ordered a toastie when. Ed shot off on his bike and I went to get the car.

When Ed arrived Minnie recognised him and her tail was wagging but she was nervous about leaving the safety of the bush so he lay on the floor and spoke to her and within minutes she came out.

She had one of her legs stuck in her harness and her harness has cut into the same leg, so we're off to the vet first thing tomorrow.

I arrived in the car and she saw me and whined and wagged!! She was also desperate to get into her bed in the car - she whined outside the car.

We popped back Croydon Rd Rec to take down the posters and the woman had saved our toasties much to Minnie's delight!!

She has been sleeping for hours now we're home.

Thanks for everything. It's been a difficult week but with a fantastic outcome.

Glad to hear that Minnie has come through her ordeal relatively unscathed. Just goes to show what a clever little survivor she is. When you are all rested, we would love to hear how she was finally spotted. Had you postered Hawksbrook Lane or had the bowlers seen the Missing posters? Were they able to hold on to her or did they entice her into the clubhouse with those delicious sausages? And, finally, did she go mad when she saw you (were you both at the reunion?) or did she just take it all in her stride?

Really pleased as she's been reunited. Just saw yesterday her poster in Forest Hill, Kirkdale Rd, SE23. Stay safe and well now little wee x

Definitely couldn't have done it without all the help we got from here! Thanks so much everyone for your tips and support.

Definitely all about poster power and the fliers! Now celebrating with a glass of bubbly and a rather smelly dog.

Verity I am so so happy you have found her. I had plastered her all over my FB & shared her with everyone I could think of..... I am not far from that area! Anyway I am so pleased you can all have a happy weekend now! I first saw your post on twitter so all the social networking did help! Lxxx
Ed_Wood
Hi, it's Verity. We're ecstatic to have her home. Other than a cut on her leg where her harness has rubbed and looking a bit skinnier than when we saw her last she is in surprisingly good shape.

Thank you all for your support. I'm not sure we could have kept going and kept positive without your messages, help and this website. It made a huge difference.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Ed and Verity - I am SO happy to hear the great news that Minnie has been found safe and sound and just half a mile up the road from me! I hope that she is okay after her week long 'adventure'. Poor girlie, she must have been so frightened at times but I bet she was pleased the see her mum and dad again. This has really made my week as couldn't get her off my mind. Poster power does it again! Have a lovely evening, the three of you and hope you enjoy a celebratory drink and that Minnie has some celebratory cheese and/or liver. But finally, welcome home Minnie!!! xx

Fantastic news, I'm so happy for you all! I hope she's well and not too traumatised by her ordeal. I know you will have big cuddles with her tonight, and hopefully a drink or two to celebrate. You did all the right things - poster power really does work. I will enjoy throwing away the rest of the cards I have. :)
ellejay
FANTASTIC. :) :). So so happy for you both. Literally just logged on and this just appeared .

Bet your both so over joyed. Your bloody hard work sweat and tears have paid off, you are both a great advert to keeping strong and working dam hard to get her back.

What a lovely weekend you can now have with her back and spoil her. Can't wait to hear how she was found and what she was like when you saw you xxx
Ed_Wood
We found her!! Thanks to the lovely people at Langley Bowls Clib giving her 7 sausages!

I've done a new version of the cards. I've included the sofa pic from Facebook and have increased the text to ask if people can report any sightings, even if they're a few days old, so that Ed & Verity can plot all the movements. I'll email it to E&V, Millys Mum and ellejay. If anyone else wants a copy please email me info@safedog.co.uk.
Ed_Wood
Just heard from them again and they saw Minnie cross Beckenham rd and go up towards kent house, much closer to our house but no posters there so am going to poster there now
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Good to hear about the new sightings, but it does make your life more difficult! I think all you can do is carry on postering, giving out the 'cards' and wait for the sightings to start coming in thicker and faster. The pet shop in Upper Elmers End Road has a poster in the window - not far from Goddard Road. I gave a few cards out at agility this morning at Dorset Road.
Ed_Wood
Another sighting, Thursday about 8 on Mackenzie Road going towards Beckenham Road.

Now have no idea where to look! She seems to be in Beckenham in afternoons and then over in Penge/Beckenham borders in the evening if past sightings are anything to go by.
Ed_Wood
UPDATE: Minnie seen on Shirley Crescent heading into Goddard Road in Beckenham on Thursday at 13:00.

So disappointing - you'd think she'd be around at 6am whilst it's quiet. Hopefully there'll be lots of kids in the park today who may be tempted by the thought of a reward! Hope she's back this weekend of course, but the deadline for News Shopper ads is on Monday, so you may wish to think about that if she doesn't reappear ...
Ed_Wood
V again. I was at Croydon Rec ground for 6am again this morning to see if there was any sign of Minnie, but sadly not. I went to all the spots she's been seen in the park, in Beckenham and in Penge, but she wasn't around :-(
Ed_Wood
Hi, it's V. I have been in contact with Tara - she was lovely. I spoke to her on Monday and emailed her again yesterday to let her know that we are still looking for our lovely Minnie dog. Really hoping today brings more news of her whereabouts. Missing her terribly. V
Ed_Wood
I haven't spoken to Tara directly but I think V has as we reported Minnie missing to Croydon. I actually spoke to the Bromley guys today and they mentioned her and said she was fantastic, no specifics but I'm guessing she's a big dog fan??

Spoke to the wardens from Croydon Rd Rec tonight as well and they were also really helpful.
ellejay
Yes they really are important, we kind of need to plaster the whole of beckenham/penge are surroundings to get her known and make her the hottest dog in the area.. word is spreading quickly, the more that know the better. Its just getting her to you thats the hard bit. But dont give up hope, i have been there i know the exhaustion your going through, the heartache, the sleepness nights, the what ifs, but with many people knowing about her we will get her back home to you.. Does Tara the croydon dog warden know of her ??

I am just off to pick up hubby from Elmers end, so will have a slow drive round the area.Last edited: 2014-08-01 23:41:56 by ellejay

Could be ellejay, or maybe getting scraps from behind Sainsburys (seems like a good source as Julie suggested). Just hope she's ok and we spot her tomorrow. As there have been no other sightings, and Croydon Road Rec do such a good ham and cheese toastie, I think I'll be camped out there tomorrow hoping Minnie finds me. Also doing some more postering of the area, the call we got today was literally 20 minutes after the posters went up so just shows how important the posters are.
ellejay
I work in St Jame's ave, i wonder if she has been hiding behind the church, as they have small grounds. My boss has removed Cassies poster from window and put it up inside the surgery, she was not to keen on it in the window :( But the church has a pre school which they use for day nurseries and weight watchers groups so maybe they can put a poster up. My inlaws live in Queens rd round the corner, they have been looking out and have told their neighbours also.. so frustrating that we in this area and not seen her. There is a side entrance to croydon rec that goes near the side of the pub and restaurants on the high street, i wonder if she is lurking round there at night for scraps.
Just a pointer also, Liver sausage is nice and smelly and dogs love it, can buy it from the deli or a cheap packet in suopermarket. Just wondering if you can leave scraps at entrance of croydon rec and sit back and see if she comes out... i may try this over weekend late at night.Last edited: 2014-08-01 23:15:15 by ellejay

Was there from 3 till closing today and didn't see her but good to have some news. Too much rain forecast for tonight but tomorrow we're planning on being there late (don't tell the warden) in the hope Minnie turns up.

Fingers crossed for a good wkend.

Great news about the sighting! Sounds like you were in the right place tonight. Fingers crossed for the weekend.

Hi Ed and Verity, If you normally drive Minnie in the car, perhaps you could spend some time parked in Cromwell Road/ St.James' Ave or at the workman's entrance to Croydon Rec with the boot or back door open and see if she picks up your scent. Just read of someone who got their dog back this way. Also hot food like cheeseburgers might lure her out as the smell will travel further. It's encouraging to hear that she is still being sighted. I've just copied her poster to my dog walking friend who lives in St. James' Ave. Fingers crossed for her safe return.Last edited: 2014-08-01 21:54:32 by Tedlola

My animal-loving friend (DL Helper cassysmum) lives on the corner of Cromwell Rd & Hampden Rd and just across the road to St James' Ave (if you've been down that way, you may have noticed her missing Bengal cat posters). We spoke about Minnie both last night and this afternoon. Minnie certainly seems to be favouring the Rec, doesn't she? It's just so incredible that, with all the work you're both putting in, you haven't seen her for yourselves. It's got to be your turn next. I'm sure Minnie will be appreciating this nice, cool evening. Everything crossed, as always, for Minnie's safe return this weekend.
Ed_Wood
Hi, it's Verity. We've had another sighting from the posters that have been put up today. Wednesday about 10pm on st James' ave near Croydon rec. She was going towards Cromwell rd & had a slight limp on one front leg. She ran away from the lady when she tried to call her.
Millys Mum
Been out most of the day today and so only just caught up via Baggy dog and Minnie's DL page. I've always thought that that part of Croydon Rd Rec (i.e. the contractors area) would be the most likely place for Minnie to hang out. Apart from the large dog water container I'm presuming they still have the childrens paddling pool or has that been emptied? I was thinking about Minnie today (had a day off work and had stuff to do) and hoping you've had some news. She really is a little minx, isn't she and so clever when moving around from place to place without being seen. Apart from water, she's obviously found a food source. As many people feed the foxes, I expect she's visiting the same place or places. Surely she's had enough now and is hopefully ready to throw in the towel. And, as Baggy Dog has said, DL does have access to decent, dog friendly cages/traps. I could find out where the nearest one is although it could be in the Maidstone area. But you would need to establish that's she's in the area and visiting the same place on a regular or semi-regular basis. Also, as I've said before, the cage/trap would need to be tucked away (not easy in the area where she's frequenting) and then monitored/watched over from a distance. Would be good if she's known to be visiting a particular garden and that the householder is an animal-lover. The cage then needs to be covered with a waterproof tarpaulin and camouflaged with vegetation to make it cosy and inviting. The trap isn't set at the outset but only once a dog is visiting the area and is comfortable with the trap which would have been stocked on a twice daily basis with food. The trouble is, of course, that foxes and local cats are also trapped by mistake which is why a need a team of watchers 'working' shifts is necessary.

They're just done now so I'll pop round ... also need to stock up on food supplies so two birds with one stone!

I'm ok thanks, have some supplies with me. Verity and a friend are on their way over here with some more posters and cards so don't trouble yourself if you have other things to do.

Thanks!
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Right, back home now. Just printing off some cards, then will guillotine them up and pop them up to you. I'll give you a call when I'm outside the rec. Parking should be easier soon! Are you OK for water/snacks etc. or would you like me to bring some?
Ed_Wood
Or if you give me a time/place I can meet you there.

Thanks,

Ed_Wood
(It's V) Hi - yes, Ed is there now and is on his mobile. Thanks so much for printing more out for us. Ed spoke to the hairdresser and she is certain it was Minnie dog which is great news. I will be meeting Ed there after work and a friend of ours is helping us poster the area later today too.

Thanks for all the help and support, we really apprecaite it.
Ed_Wood
Hi Baggy Dog, I'm at the rec now and been here for an hour or so. I'm just wondering around and looking for Minnie, if you can meet that would be great. You can reach me on either number above.

I spoke to the hairdresser and gave her some flyers that she's going to give out. Also put a few in the local shop and they said they'd put a poster up so going to do that as well.

Thanks
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Verity - is Ed over at Croydon Road Rec now/shortly? I'm printing off some posters for you now. I'm going to collect my business mail (Burrell Row, between the Rec and the High Street) so I could meet Ed there possibly? It's yellow lines unless the business centre parking bay is vacant.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
May be worth Ed taking flyers in to Mac's hairdressers? (Wonder if it's the gentleman who sits outside the shop sometimes?) To have remembered seeing Minnie obviously means he's a dog lover!
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
I did think about the drinking issue - clever dog! I expect there's lots of scraps around to eat but not so many puddles at the moment. There are dog traps that some people use to trap missing dogs (humane, obviously!) - but I think you probably need a few more sightings in one area before it's worth doing that. Not sure if that's happened locally - Millys Mum may know more.
Ed_Wood
Verity again.

Just thought, there is water in a large container for dogs in Croydon rec so i wonder if she is going back there to drink...?
Ed_Wood
Hi, it's Verity. Thanks so much for the update Baggy Dog - it's great to know she was seen on Wednesday. We're so pleased to have another update. Ed is heading over there this afternoon and we'll do some postering and flyering on the roads inbetween this afternoon/evening.

Thanks for all the help, V
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Jolly useful Ed. Just seen a message on Streetlife 'Minnie was spotted by my hairdresser (Macs) going into Croydon Road Rec on Wednesday - she went into the workmens' gate - not the main park gate. Hoping she's found safe and sound soon.' now looking at your list she'd come away from the there, back towards you, so interesting that she went back to the Rec. Assume daytime unless hairdresser lives over the shop. Wonder if it's worth shifting the focus? Shame there's no more. Will do some cards later - I have to pick up OH from Biggin Hill.
Ed_Wood
Hi all, I'm about to go out again looking for Minnie, here is a map of her sightings:

http://i60.tinypic.com/23w9suu.png

Red star - where she went missing from
Purple star - where they chased her to
Green star - where we live
Blue stars - general definite sightings

I'm going to go and poster the other side of Elmers End road but running out of posters so also need to get more ink, print more posters etc.

Thanks Baggy Dog, some more cards could be useful, though not sure where Minnie could be so don't really know where to give them out. I have some left which I'll give out now over Elmers End Rd.Last edited: 2014-08-01 10:49:40 by Ed_Wood
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Do you need more 'cards' printed?
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
That's not good to hear, but don't give up hope. Have you plotted the sightings on a map - I think they often travel a triangular route. Also sometimes hard to remember what you've seen if it it was quick. Hoping for better news today.
Ed_Wood
Yep, to be honest I was expecting prank calls earlier but getting one after no sightings was even more annoying. The possible sighting of Minnie was with what was described as a tall skinny man with long greasy looking hair. We're putting it down to it not being Minnie and an honest mistake as seems like the chances of her being caught and then turning up on our doorstep are pretty low.

Worryingly though a dog owner who lives on our road was beaten up recently, knocked out and his dog taken by what he described as travellers, luckily he came round before they got away with his dog and managed to get him back but worrying to think there are people like that out there. Hopefully Minnie is tucked up safely somewhere.

I'll continue searching tomorrow and probably poster a new area, maybe over the other side of Elmers End Rd as no posters round there really. Fingers crossed for more news of Minnie tomorrow! Just wish we had GPS on her or some way of narrowing down where she might be, and that she hadn't been lost by a supposed professional dog carer in the first place.
Millys Mum
I did wonder whether people might think we had Minnie when we walked our Dexter around Winsford Gdns (the only time we got him out of the car). There were half a dozen people sitting in the park but all seemed pre-occupied. Minnie and Dexy are very similar-looking dogs (apart from being male and female!) but we didn't walk him in the Sydenham area and so not us. How annoying about the morons ripping down posters (suppose it gives them something to do in their sad little lives) and also the prank call from the local low-life, with clearly nothing better to do.
Ed_Wood
Pretty dejected after another unsuccessful day and night of searching and no positive sightings. We had a call from someone who thought they might have seen Minnie on a lead with a man in Sydenham but she wasn't vey sure so we're hoping they were mistaken (and not sure how he would have caught her).

Finding several posters had been ripped down and receiving a prank call didn't help.

Will be looking again tomorrow but not sure whether to concentrate on the same area or try expanding the search zone, but even then not sure where to expand it too.
Millys Mum
We (OH, Dexy & Me) did a slow car tour tonight of the Ravenscroft Rd area. I think we covered around 15+ roads. OH knows the area well as part of his old stamping ground. We stopped off at Winsford Gdns and took Dexy for a walk but no sign of Minnie. When we returned to our car (very naughtilty had parked in some nearby flats), Dexter became VERY interested in a corner of the garden but it turned out to be a very disgruntled fox. We tooks treats just in case and I called her name very softly but sadly, no sign. As we drove around the local roads, I kept thinking (hoping) we were going to see Minnie trotting along. I spotted lots of likely hidey holes which can only be covered on foot. We thought we spotted her at one stage (road off Lennard Road but sadly not Minnie). We saw loads of moggies and noticed a woman with a mastiff-type breed stopping to read one of your posters. Just hope the weekend brings about those oh, so important sightings. When searching make sure to take rustly crisp bag or something similar with you. This often makes them come out of hiding.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Yes, think it might - Dexter is a lovely boy. I can't make it tonight but if M still not home tomorrow I could join the search party then. When I took Roxy to search for Elmo all those years ago, when we found her Roxy dobermann (normally very barky) stayed silent - it's as if they know what's going on.
Millys Mum
Ed - Yes, others have tried the open car with a familiar person i.e. you and/or Verity sitting chatting (or singing along to the radio). Radio 2 is a good choice as it has both talking and music and just something that is perhaps familiar to Minnie. Just wish I could point you towards an 'example' of this tactic on DL. Of course, it would be good to have one of your bikes to hand. Does Minnie like rides in the car cos both ours do?! It's so nice to hear about the support and kindness you have been encountering although I know from when our cat was missing (vets lost him out the kitchen window!!), it just brought out the best in people.

I've also sent you an email wondering whether our Dexter (friendly entire male NZ Huntaway) might appeal to your girl. Does she like other dogs? Baggy Dog knows him well - Gill do you think it's worth a try if Ed and Verity agree? If so, we can meet up and take him for a walk this evening around Ravenscroft Rd/Mackenzie Rd/Winsford Gdns.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Glad to hear of sighting! Just driven my partner to Kings Hospital via Anerley - kept a lookout but nothing. I do know of someone who parked the car up with the dog's bed in the back. I'll email her and ask if she can post some advice on here.Last edited: 2014-07-31 16:21:09 by Baggy Dog

Possible sighting in Ravenscroft Road today, a friend thinks they saw Minnie from a car on the main road at about 13:30.

By the time they'd managed to turn around and get there there was no sign of her, I was there shortly afterwards on my bike and couldn't find her anywhere and have been in the area since about 10:30 AM. Lots more posters up and flyers given out. Hopefully we'll get another sighting so we know where to target the search.

There are so many possible hiding places round there for her that I'm hoping she's found somewhere nice and quiet to stay out of the heat and cool down. Will be back out looking for her later. Thinking of trying parking up in the car with her dog bed in the back and an open door in case she is wandering around, has anyone tried this?

Thanks to Julie (and good to meet you!) for looking round Croydon Road Rec, to the guy who let me into his back garden on Ravenscroft Road to have a look around, and everyone else as well of course.

I also encountered a stray cat in Ravenscroft Rd area, white and very scrawny with no collar. Tried to feed her but unfortunately she ran off and wouldn't take any food.
Millys Mum
ellejay - unless you've already done so, I know cassysmum would be happy for you to remove Cassy's poster to give Minnie's poster more prominence.

Also I spoke to chap I work with as he lives in Penge and before I could say much, he said he'd seen Minnie on Saturday afternoon (described a frightened dog wearing a blue harness) near the mower repair shop in Penge High Street. He tried/thought about catching her but was worried about her running into the road. Said it was around 13:30. Will give him Minnie's poster with your contact details. He and his son are REAL dog lovers.
ellejay
I ma at work today, so hope to get a poster in our window ( in Elmers End ) i have many people in the area that know about her now, so are keeping an eye out. What with the school holidays, hopefully someone will spot her in a park if she is lying low during the day. She may be scouting the fast food outlets at night scavenging food by their bins. I wonder if Clockhouse station and Kent house will put a poster up for you. ?
Ed_Wood
Sadly that's not Minnie :( Looks a lot like her but found with a different collar and no microchip, also ears are more pointy than Minnie's. Thanks though.

Baggy Dog - Our neighbours know she's missing and builders working a couple of doors down but we don't have anything in place beyond that, if she did find her way home I imagine (hope) she would wait here for us or in the garden. Don't know what else we can do on that front. Maybe put her bed outside somewhere quiet? Will try and keep Twitter updated but it eats up phone battery and I need to be able to receive calls when I'm out cycling around.

Verity - can you stay on top of Twitter?

Someone called to say they'd heard a dog barking in an alleyway off Royston Road next to Tescos and someone also saw her going into the same alleyway but this was Tuesday and we only found this out last night/this morning. We were there yesterday and no sign of Minnie, going back now in case she's there and to put some water down in case she comes back. I'm about to head out now and really hoping for some more news today.

Thanks everyone,

Just wondered if you had arrangements at home in case she turned up there whilst you're out searching? I've added Minnie's details to Streetlife this morning - a local website https://www.streetlife.com/conversation/26qkqcqj91rd8/ - when I listed a missing cat on there I had a few people offering to look. Think you need to make good use of Twitter too - one or two tweets a day for Beckenham Town to RT. Mention your week off work / cycling round / the reward etc.
Ed_Wood
Hi Millys Mum, this is Ed. I went to the cemetery earlier today and gave Minnie's poster to the office and staff there, it's so big there though I couldn't really get round all of it. Also cycled round South Norwood country park and put up posters by the entrances where possible, no chance of seeing her in there though as everything is so overgrown (never been there before today). I didn't check/see the sports field but will have a look tomorrow. A friend confirmed the posters are still up in and around Croydon Road Rec so that's ok, should probably update them soonish though I suppose.

Baggy Dog - good to meet you too and thanks for giving out your cards and all your help.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring more sightings, so far she seems to have a day of activity then a day off so fingers crossed we cross paths with her tomorrow. I think the sniffer dog option would probably be best as I'm sure that if we could get close enough to her we could coax her out of wherever she's hiding with some liver and familiar voices.

We have very worn clothes out in areas she's been seen and have been checking them periodically but no signs of Minnie. Tried most tricks listed but without any sightings or location updates to work with we're a bit stuck.

Thanks all for the help and advice, will keep you updated if we hear anything.

Hi, it's Verity again. A friend who has been helping us search thought it might helpful to list where Minnie has been seen since Saturday and we thought that's probably a really good idea.

1. Sat 26 July - went missing from Sylvan Rd, SE19
2. Sat 26 July - disappeared from sight on corner of Maple Rd and Hawthorne Rd, SE20
3. Sat 26 July - spotted running down Birkbeck Rd towards Elmers End (middayish)
4.Sat 26 July 1.30ish - seen in Croydon Rd Rec Ground (entrance opposite Gowland Place), Beckenham, BR3
5. Sat 26 July, 4.30 ish - seen going up Village Way, BR3 (away from Croydon Rd Rec)
6. Sunday 27 July, afternoon - seen in Croydon Rd Rec Grnd, people trying to catch her.
7. Monday 28 July - no reported sightings
8. Tues 29 July, 1pmish - spotted trotting along Ravencroft Rd, BR3
9. Tues 29 July, 3pm - seen in Winsford Gdns and trotting down Garden Rd, SE20
10. Tues 29 July, 9pm - seen on MacKenzie Rd, BR3 heading to Beckeham High St and then seen running down Beckenham High St towards Penge.
11. Tues 29 July, 10pm - seen running into an alley behind Tesco on Royston Rd, SE20
12. Wed 30 July, no reported sightings.

Hopefully we'll have some calls tomorrow and she hasn't completely moved areas.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Verity & Ed

I don't go to Croydon Rd Rec and so wouldn't know about the posters. I did call a friend this evening who lives in nearby Cromwell Rd to make sure she knew about Minnie but she wasn't at home and hasn't called me back. I can call her tomorrow morning to ask about posters in and around the Rec. I live almost next door to Kelsey Park and Harvington and can check there if it helps. As I said in my email to you this evening, I reckon the Crematorium and the South Norwood Country Park are also places Minnie would find appealing. Did you manage to check out the playing field next to the allotments? Of course the other possibility is that she's making her way home. All you can do now is to carry on raising awareness but, at the same time, stressing how important it is not to approach Minnie but just observe and call you. And then just wait for the next sighting. I called DL HQ and left a message about contact details for Jenny & Tiga, the tracker dog but have't heard back yet.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Good to meet you earlier. After you left a chap came over to ask about my roofbox - I told him about Minnie and gave him one of the cards. He lived in the house opposite. I gave out some cards at dog training (albeit the one who lives closest is on holiday for a few days - will catch her Saturday if Minnie's not home by then). Hard to know what to suggest really. Good that you were able to take the week off work to search. Maybe when Verity's with you one of you could stay near last sightings and the other cycle round? Maybe useful to put the cards through letterboxes of the roads where she was last seen? If you need more let me know - I'm happy to print more off and run them up to you. We have an agility session up at the allotments on Saturday so I'll take some details up with me then to hand out. It does rather sound like she's lying low - you have enough posters up to have had some sightings today I'd have thought. Hope you both manage to sleep so you're fresh for tomorrow's hunting.
Ed_Wood
Thanks Millys Mum, yes was knackered! Went home for a lie down at 5 and out again at 6. Still out now and wondering if we're better off cycling around or staying in one place where she was seen and hoping she comes to us.

Just wondering if anyone from Beckenham has been to Croydon Rd Rec or surrounding areas? We are wondering if posters are still up. If not I'll go back to plaster the area (despite no sightings).

Without any sightings we're a bit lost really and just circling where she was last night. Maybe sniffer dog is the only option.
Millys Mum
Ed - poor you. You must be exhausted after cycling around for 5 hours. Minnie is clearly a very clever and streetwise dog (and not a youngster) and would have found herself a nice, quiet and shady place to rest during today's heat. I would imagine that she will re-surface again this evening, I popped the updated DL poster into Foxgrove Vets this afternoon. I tidied/re-arranged the noticeboard and made sure Minnie's poster had a good place. The Head Vet Nurse also showed great concern and interest. She took a photo of Minnie's Missing poster and said she would add details to her veterinary Facebook page.
Tedlola
Hi Ed, just to back up what has been mentioned before about leaving your (urine) scent around. I have read about a number of dogs who have followed their owners urine scent left out on bedding/clothing and been found this way. As Minnie's latest sightings seem to be getting closer to your home perhaps you could leave your scented clothing on a trail that leads from her last sighting to your home. Bear in mind the safest route for her to travel. I hope you have good news soon. Last edited: 2014-07-30 18:15:23 by Tedlola

No phone calls unfortunately.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
It was very hot today, so hopefully she's been in the shade. Guess you've had no phone calls either.
Ed_Wood
Cycled round for about 5 hours today in the areas she was seen last night looking and putting up posters. Unfortunately no sign of Minnie, hopefully she's still well and hiding from the heat somewhere.
Shelagh
Don't know if you already done this. Apologize if you have. Print out street map of area and surrounding area. Give all regular searchers a copy and divide up into coloured sections, for searching. When there lot of alley ways its easy to think you checked them if you have map they can mark route on it
Millys Mum
Hi Ed - as Baggy Dog has said there is a DL registered Helper called Jenny and her Beagle, Tiga who have had great results, providing the scents are 'fresh' and haven't been rained on. I don't know where they live but think it's somewhere in the South East and she does travel (and sometimes great distances to help look / sniff out missing dogs). I don't know what she charges but she does sound a truly caring and dedicated person. I don't know if she and Tiga are helping anyone at the mo but would suggest that you call the main DL number and ask Jayne or one of the Admin peeps for her contact details.Last edited: 2014-07-30 13:09:06 by Millys Mum

Good luck Ed! I'll print off and guillotine the cards later (though hoping I won't have to of course!) My phone numbers are 020 8658 1009 and 07957 360 968. I'll be at the allotments before 9pm, then at 9 or so I'll be in the clubhouse - if you get there after 9pm then just knock on the door and I'll come out. I'll be in a pale green Volvo estate with roofbox (and golden retriever).
Ed_Wood
Hi Baggy Dog, if you can that would be great, I'm heading out now as she is often spotted around 1-3 pm. Hoping she's in same area. Will be out later as well.

I can be reached on either phone number above or if you see a guy on a blue bike with a bag its probably me.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Forgot to say - there are sniffer dogs around - there's a lovely lady called Jenny who's been all over with her beagle to find dogs. But not sure that anyone offers it as a service as such. But Doglost admin and Millys Mum should know more about that.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Ed - if I have time to get there very early tonight I'll have a scout round with Ellie. I'm planning to print out more business 'cards' today on yellow paper, as they'll be harder to miss if people put them in their pockets. I was thinking that if you were able to put them through doors near the sightings that may help. If you'd like me to print some out for you then I could meet you at the allotments later (if you happen to be around there).
Ed_Wood
Hi Shelagh, we got access to the allotments yesterday and Minnie was nowhere to be seen, lots of foxes though. If I can get back in today I will do so. Also need to poster that area more extensively definitely as there are not enough up at the moment as we were concentrating on Beckenham around Croydon Road Rec. There are so many parks, alleyways, car parks, bushes around where she has been seen - we are checking as thoroughly as we can but unfortunately it is impossible to check everywhere.

Thanks Baggy Dog! Maybe she is in there today.

Was wondering if anyone has heard of hiring another dog to sniff out their stray pet? Seems logical if she is just hiding in a bush somewhere. Is this a service that is available? I can't find any information about it except for companies in the USA that do this.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
The allotments you're referring to are the Dorset Road allotments. I'll be going there later to dog training at 9pm (but I plan to get there a little earlier to give out business cards to the people in the earlier class as they leave).
Shelagh
Was looking on map, allotments are close by, if you can get access do a search there, also Aldi,if not given out flyers do there. At least a couple of flyers she may be scavenging there. Lastly looks like a level crossing there,if its manned get someone to speak to guy there if not put up a poster. Please let Somebody helping you do it. Don't go near level crossing yourselves. A dog I was helping with was following scent of owner where she had been walking,we don't want her going anywhere near there
Shelagh
When looking for her be sure to check under all bushes (size relevant),any building sites, anywhere shecan be rtesting. Don't know area but guessing she probably holed up in a park. Have you found a water source? She is still very active so must be getting water somewhere. Maybe local lake etc? Another thing when cycling round is there somebody who leaves food outside for cats or foxes? If in her area, stake that out as well as water source. Good luckLast edited: 2014-07-30 09:46:33 by Shelagh

Am in work at the mo but just a quick post. The scent trail that someone has mentioned refers to... urine and/or the contents of a hoover bag. It is suggested that you (or Verity!) wees into a large bottle and then dilute it (not sure about the recommended strength although others might know!) and sprinkle it every so often from say, Winsford Gardens to home although obviously you will need to do it discreetly (sp?). And yes, the scent trail is proven! Good Luck for today xx PS I will drop an updated DL poster into Foxgrove Vets when I leave work around 14:45 which states Minnie is scared and nervous and not to be approached/chased/shouted at.Last edited: 2014-07-30 09:21:11 by Millys Mum

So sorry you haven't got her home yet, but the sightings are positive! I think. Do you have a car as well as bikes? Years ago someone camped out in their car with the back open to lure the dog back in. You probably don't have time to get tshirts made up, but you could try putting posters on the back of your tops so people can see the message as you're cycling round. Good luck for today.
Ed_Wood
Hi ellejay, thanks for the help and the information. Can't believe we were so close yesterday but still didn't find her, perhaps suggests she won't come if we call her which means that unless Verity of I see her personally it might be difficult to get her back.

Plan for today is to plot her sightings on a map and try and work out a pattern, also cycle round all the streets she seen yesterday in the afternoon as most sightings have been between 1 and 4 pm, look for her and put up more posters.

Last night we tried tying up bits of clothing in the places where she was last seen and went back at first light this morning but unfortunately she wasn't there.

Someone has suggested leaving a scent trail she may know (e.g. deodorant) from the areas where she's been sighted back to our house. Has anyone heard of this or know whether it might work? Will probably try it anyway but just wondering if anyone has any tips about what to do.

Thanks
ellejay
So glad to hear there are more sightenings. I been driving around tonight, I spoke to someone who said they thought they saw her in churchfields park in churchfields road, about 6pm, found this out about half 11pm tonight.
So sounds like she hovering round this area, hope she stays safe. Let's hope Poster power will get home soon.
Millys Mum
Thanks Alison for bumping Minnie's page.

My goodness this girl does move around doesn't she? Clearly very fit but also, hopefully, getting her bearings. She's certainly becoming the best known and hottest girl in town but how frustrating for you that she was always several steps ahead of you but equally good to know she's still very much okay and remaining in the area. This is when DL suggests that you plot her sightings on a map to see if there's a pattern forming. It is said that missing dogs often move in a triangle starting from where she went missing. I'm glad to hear that the sausages didn't go to waste though! Let's hope that she uses tonight to head off towards home. I can't wait to see her in the Reunited pages any time soon.Last edited: 2014-07-29 23:34:25 by Millys Mum

Bumped due to today's sightings.

Hi, it's Verity again. We have had five sightings of her today. Two this afternoon and three this evening after 9pm when she was spotted on MacKenzie Road, Beckenham and moments later running from Beckenham High Street towards Penge. We were there in minutes as we were two roads away on bikes, but we missed her. We're gutted that we were so close & missed her, but pleased she's ok.

We have put posters all round the place and given out flyers and we even bumped into people who were looking for her which is great.

We cycled around for over an hour in every direction, but there was no sign of her and no one we asked had seen her.

Thanks for all the help, we tried the BBQ trick, but that's when we got the call to say she was moving in the other direction on MacKenzie Road so we had to head off on our bikes. (Another ladies dog was only too pleased to eat the sausages!).

We just hope she moves in the Sydenham direction tonight as she's only about 20 minutes walk from our place now.

Gave cards to PCSO tonight. He already knew about Minnie, a good sign! He'd been talking to someone about her in Croydon Road Rec the other day. He'll take the cards back to police station. Everyone's getting to hear about her - hope that will bring the phone calls you need.

Hopefully it will be academic as hoping that Minnie's back home by this evening but just to let you know that I popped a Missing poster into Foxgrove vets this afternoon on my way home from work. I spoke to a VERY negative vet nurse (possibly the same one that Verity spoke to) and I said that I would let her know when Minnie has been found. Clearly she doesn't know a thing about missing dogs and how they behave and I'm dying to set her straight! Many, many owners of missing dogs have had great results from disposable BBQs, once it's nice and quiet, where they cook sausages and other tasty food. Of course, with this weather, the smells would waft around for some distance and hopefully entice Minnie to you. Come on Minnie - please show your pretty face. We all need you home!
ellejay
Its off Croydon road, ( penge croydon road ) off a road called Garden road. If you go up Elmers end road past Birbeck station and do a right past the Aldi, or you can go down Ash Grove to get to it.
Millys Mum
ellejay - are you still around? Where's Winsford Gardens as I can't spot it on the local map?
Millys Mum
Such good news - also praying here that Minnie allows herself to be caught. She's probably very tired by now and so might come to you. I don't know where Winsford Gardens is although OH looking it up on the big map. Ed and Verity, if you need anything at all - call me on the mobile number I gave to Verity this morning or our landline if you have it or call Baggy Dog and she will contact me. I believe my neighbour's son does voluntary work in the small park there but, although we know Beckenham inside out, I'm not so familiar with Penge.
ellejay
ahh good news she been spotted... i think there is a travel lodge there, go in there and tell the reception staff to keep an eye out also.. Pray you get her home.
Ed_Wood
UPDATE: Minnie spotted in Winsford gardens in SE20 Penge, about 1 hour ago we are frantically searching the area now.
ellejay
I am back over Eden Park area later this evening, so will take a walk round the area and see if i cam spread the word.. hopefully she is lying low somewhere in this heat, and is popping out at night to scavenge some food. Th emore we get people aware the quicker she will be found. Can you also put an ad on Gumtree as alot of people still dont know of doglost, and go to gumtree and other missing dogs sites to say they found a dog.
Ed_Wood
It's Verity again - Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I popped into Eden Park Vet yesterday with a poster and put one up at the station & at the bus stop by the station. I have called Foxgrove but haven't dropped a poster in yet.

I was out from 6-8.30am this morning handing out more flyers and putting up more posters and to check the park first thing to see if she was around. I plan to go out again a bit later in the day too. Unfortunately I was unable to take today off work, so will head out as soon as I've finished.

Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Just dropped business cards into Eden Park Vet. Poster was up already! Receptionist very sympathetic, lovely lady. Also popped poster into my friend - she works at Last Chance shop in Bromley (full of animal lovers from near and far).

Verity - like Baggy Dog, I'm pleased to hear that you are feeling more positive today. You have, and are doing, SO MUCH that it can only be a matter of time before you start to get more reports of local sightings. Also, the wording on Minnie's DL poster is good, especially the bit about Minnie being a nervous dog. By the way, does she like the company of other dogs? We have a VERY friendly (handsome!) male NZ Huntaway (a slightly bigger Minnie lookalike) who loves the girls and who love him! Was just wondering whether she would be interested in another dog or whether she would be frightened.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Hi Verity, glad you're feeling a bit better today. When owners are doing all they can to find their own dog then other volunteers are more than happy to help.

Hi All, this is Ed's partner Verity using Ed's login. Thank you so much for all your suggestions. Ed will set up a fb page this afternoon and we will add the link on here.

Thank you for the updated 'business cards' Baggy Dog, we really appreciate them. We plan on going out with them later.

We're feeling a bit more positive today and really hoping we hear some more news on her whereabouts. We desperately want her safely home with us.

Your support and help is really appreciated. xx

Hi ellejay - good to see you are around and posting. As usual, some great suggestions on here. Minnie's owners will be going to Beckenham Jct station later on today with posters and Baggy Dog's contact 'flyers'. I also suggested leaving a poster and mini-flyers with Regency Cars who were very good when Samson was missing (and absolutely delighted when I popped in to say he was back home!). Probably a number of dog owners / lovers amongst them. Have offered to pop along to Croydon Rd Rec and / or Harvington early evening. ellejay - great suggestion about creating Minnie's own Facebook page as has been so effective in the past!Last edited: 2014-07-29 13:19:36 by Millys Mum

May be stating the obvious here Ed, but when you're out looking make sure you all have a lead with you (maybe slip lead type in case she's slipped her collar on her travels).
ellejay
In the space of 10 mins, i already have had 6 people on fb sharing :) lets get her well known xx
ellejay
Ed you can create a group on facebook and name it Missing Minnie in Beckenham or something along those lines, saves other people being linked to your personal profile on there. I have posted the doglost link on my page and also retweeted on twitter. But with her own page on fb, more people can then post any info on that.
Ah yes, i will do that Baggy dog, then i can get some put up my way, incase she has ventured this side of beckenham.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Ed - glad you have ellejay on the case as well as Millys Mum - a great team! I've emailed you a revised PDF of the 'business cards' to include the reward amount. I've sent this to Millys Mum too. ellejay - if you'd like me to send a PDF to you then please email me info@safedog.co.uk. Ed - just a thought - would it be a good idea to add a landline number to the poster? Even if it's just in the text. Some people may not like phoning mobiles as they can be expensive, and it's also easier to memorise a landline number if you're seeing a poster.
Ed_Wood
Hi Ellejay, we don't have a Facebook page for Minnie but have posted it on Twitter and also our Facebook pages which has had a lot of shares.

Do you know a Facebook page we could post the information to?

Thanks for your help!

Ed
ellejay
oh just seen this from the link a local dog walker posted on fb,I will also spread the word and keep an eye out. Is there a facebook page that i can share to my friends in Beckenham ?? The more people that are aware the better, facebook is great for reuniting lost pets. Posters are the key, someone may well have taken her in and not thought to report her. So dont give up, as the ladies have said dogs get reunited after weeks/months.. i have been through it myself so know only to well what you are going through, Please do not give up, with the word spreading that many more people who can help you xx
Millys Mum
Hi Ed - Like Baggy Dog has said PLEASE don't give up hope. I helped look for a missing Staffie that went missing from home (escaped from back garden) and we know from sightings that Samson ended up in Kelsey Park and then nothing! He was returned around 2 weeks later. And once again, as Baggy Dog has said, there are SO many similar stories. I'm in work at the mo and don't have access to my emails but I do have one of Minnie's missing posters with me and so can pop one into Foxgrove Vets in Foxgrove Road on my way home (or have you already done them?). They provide 24/7 emergency cover for ALL local vets and so have many 'customers'. I reckon Minnie could still be in Croydon Rd Rec. Did the people who tried to catch her remember which way she ran? There is a particular area of the Rec that I wanted to mention. My mobile has decided to completely die today (not helpful) but I do have another with me. I will send you a text message so that you might be able to have a quick chat. Finally, missing dogs are VERY clever about keeping a low profile (and especially nervous ones) and they also quickly revert to survival mode. They are much cleverier than we give them credit for, as we all think we know our dogs inside out. I know you are desperate to have Minnie home but it's still very early days. And finally, the park warden who opened up the Rec would have been Ward Security. Did he/she arrive in a signwritten van? Will send you a text now.Last edited: 2014-07-29 10:19:14 by Millys Mum

That is a good point, we will try and get to all of them today if we can with posters and flyers.

Thanks again
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
True, Ed, but if the vets display the posters then anyone taking their animals in there to be treated would see the posters and hopefully look out for Minnie.
Ed_Wood
We've phoned all the vets we could find in the area but haven't been round them all with flyers/posters. I think if she were taken to a vet they would know to contact us as our numbers are on her collar (unless she's somehow got it off) and she's chipped. Will try contacting the vets between here and Beckenham also and will drop off some posters and flyers to them when we can.

You're right some people won't notice, we're really hoping she turns up soon or we get another sighting of her. Though if she's no longer in Beckenham then people may not know who to call if they do see her so we probably need to go and put up posters further afield in case she's done a runner to another area.

Thanks
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
I've just put a poster and some flyers through the door at Creature Comforts, Upper Elmers End Road. Have you done the vets yet? I'll do the one in Upper Elmers End Road later. Worth a drive round all of them - the people I know round here go to various vets, not just the most local one. Maybe cover the route between Beckenham and your home, in case she's trying to find her way back. The other thing to say is that just because you've had no phone calls doesn't mean people haven't seen her. Some people don't notice stray dogs. Others assume that the owners are nearby. Others don't have a phone with them. Etc. Etc. Maybe try shop windows? Come on Minnie, show yourself!
Ed_Wood
Thanks, we are wondering where else we should flyer/put up posters as have covered most of Beckenham though have been concentrating on parks and places we think might have high footfall. Maybe we should aim for all side streets? It seems like she abandoned Croydon Road Rec now, though she could still be nearby.

The problem is that with no sightings she could be anywhere, we know she traveled all the way from Crystal Palace in only a couple of hours so in 48 hours who knows where she might be.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Sorry to hear that Ed. DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!!! Years ago I helped someone find their dog who'd been missing for two weeks (and there are plenty more similar stories). As long as you keep up the momentum with posters, flyers etc. there is a good chance that you will find her. Hoping for good news today.
Ed_Wood
Hi all,

I'm sad to say we went back to Croydon Road Rec at 6 this morning in the hope that Minnie might have been attracted to her things but we did not see any sign of her. As Millys Mum says, perhaps she has been scared off after people tried to catch her a couple of times. Hopefully she will return but we're now nearly 48 hours since the last sighting again and we're starting to lose hope that we will see her again.

Millys Mum - Thanks for your email (will respond) and yes I mean the park warden, we saw him this morning when he was opening up the park (opens at 6) so have given him one of the fliers and asked him to call us if he sees her. Dog wardens have been informed in Lewisham, Bromley, Greenwich, Croydon etc. Basically anywhere we thought Minnie may realistically have traveled to. We've contacted all the vets that we can and also animal shelters, will visit Battersea Dogs Home tomorrow on the offchance she is there (though she has our numbers on her collar so not sure how she could be taken in and we wouldn't receive a call).

It seems very odd that no one has seen her for so long, as everyone keeps telling us you don't see stray dogs in London so we're struggling to understand how she's only been noticed twice since Saturday.

We also have work commitments that can no longer be avoided unfortunately so will not be able to spend as long looking today as we have previously. We have put up more posters this morning and given out more fliers. Hopefully someone will contact us with another sighting today.

Thanks everyone for you help.

Good to hear that she's been seen. Hopefully more people will start calling you with sightings. I've just sent the PDF to Millys Mum (who has been instrumental in reuniting several dogs locally!)

Hi Ed - thanks for the update. I just been around the Chinese Garage end of Kelsey Park. Was very quiet but did manage to speak to a couple of dogwalkers. I checked some of the quieter places in the park. I didn't see Ward Security as park closes at 9.30 in July (9.00 during August). I'm just about to pop back on the offchance Ward Sec might be there ready to lock up.
Ed_Wood
We tried calling the number on the park notice board for the warden but could not get a response, do you know another way we can reach them Millys Mum?

Thanks,
Ed

UPDATE: Minnie was seen again yesterday in Croydon Road Recreation Ground and people tried to stop her but she got away.

Hi Millys Mum, thanks so much for your response.

Minnie is very nervous normally (she's a rescue dog and more scared of men than women) but can usually be bribed with some liver. After 3 nights on her own though she will be probably be more scared than normal. If anyone sees her liver or cheese are her favourite treats and she is probably more likely to be approached by a woman than a man.

Yes we've postered Kelsey Park today and Harvington Estate and have given out flyers in both locations, we've also put up posters near the entrances to Crease Park and all along Village Way, up to and inside Eden Park station and various other stations. We've been back to Croydon Road Rec this evening and took some of her things there in the hope that she might be able to smell them and it would attract her back. We also put some food with her things on the remote off-chance that she finds it before another dog!

I've seen the back alleys you mention and have checked a few of them but have not had a chance to do so again before it got dark today. I'll be back out tomorrow and will try to check them all then.

My email address is edward.isherwood@gmail.com and if you email me I can send the PDF flyers to you.

We'll be going back to the park tomorrow as soon as it opens to check if there's any sign of her near her things (or anywhere else). Hopefully someone else may spot her in the meantime and if anyone does please call us at any time. Our main concern is that she may be so nervous having been alone for several days that she may be really difficult to approach or stop. Hopefully we will find her soon and positive news that she was seen again in the park.

Thanks again for your help and kind words, it really helps to know there are so many nice people out there helping us hunt for her.

I'm just about to head over to Kelsey Park (it's very close to where I live) in the hope that I might be able to speak to the Ward Security people. Baggy Dog - if you read this, would you send me Minnie's PDF. If you don't see this, I will email you. Also just along Village Way between Croydon Rd Rec and Harvington (which is between Eden Park Ave and South Eden Park Rd) is another small park known as Crease Park. From memory, there aren't too many hidey holes there but it would be another good place for a couple of Minnie's missing posters and to hand out Baggy Dog's mini-flyers to any dog walkers.Last edited: 2014-07-28 20:14:31 by Millys Mum

Ed - Also meant to add that, whilst helping a friend look for her missing car in the Croydon Road Rec area, I was surprised by just how many side and back alleys (and other grassy areas) there were around Cromwell Rd, St James' Ave, Westbury Rd, Shrewsbury Rd, Durban Rd, etc which are just across the road from Croydon Rd Rec.

Ed - I live in Beckenham and will certainly be keeping my ears and eyes open for Minnie. Have you postered Kelsey Park yet and the Harvington Estate at lots of dogwalkers go there? There's a noticeboard at Harvington (between the car park in South Eden Park Road and the footballer's changing rooms) plus lots of big oak trees from the entrance off Stone Park Ave (unmade up part of Manor Way) right up to the Eden Park end . Harvington is across the road to Kelsey Park and goes up to Eden Park (close to the railway station). I presume you've called SDK Environmental, Bromley Council's contacted-out dog warden service)on 0844 482 8337. Is Minnie friendly or nervous? Is she missing from home or did she disappear during a walk? It would be a good idea to speak to the Ward Security park patrol operatives. If I see any of them in Kelsey Park, I will mention Minnie to them. They patrol ALL our local parks and so would be good people to contact. I have a friend who lives in the Croydon Road Rec area and so will tell her about Minnie. I know that Sainsbury's in Beckenham High Street are happy to display posters on their noticeboard near the check-outs and so make sure you get one to them. What about speaking to the Reception staff at Elm House Surgery which is next to Croydon Road Rec in the Beckenham Beacon (formerly known as Beckenham Hospital) and also the Urgent Care Centre also based in the Beckenham Beacon as they work from 08:00 until 20:00. All for now. I will keep checking Minnie's page and hope it won't be long until she is reunited with you.Last edited: 2014-07-28 19:52:31 by Millys Mum

Lots of posters put up today and flyers distributed to people, still no news sadly. We have also left some of her blankets and scented items in the park she was last seen so hoping she may smell them and return there. If she does and anyone sees her please let us know.

We're going to expand the search area and put up posters in surrounding areas also (Penge/Anerley already postered).

Any other suggestions welcomed!

Thanks,
Ed

I just had to dash in to Beckenham - saw lots of posters on lamp posts - great that the message is getting out there. Come home soon!

Thanks for email Ed - I've just emailed the PDF. If anyone else would like the PDF to print out and cut up to give the info to people then just email me - info@safedog.co.uk. The more people that know about it the better.

Sorry to hear about Minnie. Best thing to do is to get loads of posters up around the area. It would also help to have a sheet of business-card size information to cut up and give to all the dog walkers and other people you see whilst out searching. This means they have your number and don't need to go back to the poster to call you. If you have printing facilities but would like me to do this for you then please email info@safedog.co.uk and I'll send you a PDF to print.

We had a call from someone who saw her yesterday at 16:30 in Croydon Road Recreation Ground in Beckenham. Sadly we couldn't find her in Beckenham area when we were looking today but think she is in Beckenham area now.

Thanks everyone for your help so far
