Any news on this dog? People still keeping an eye out, so would be good to have an update from owner please, thanks.

Not sure if the owner is following this page, but I have today spoken with friends who live in Bells Yew Green. They were unaware that a dog had gone missing. They have not seen any posters up, but they are dog owners and would have kept an eye out during this week had they known. They will be looking out from now on, but I think it would be very wise if you get some posters up to raise awareness, particularly in the village and surrounding areas. Hope she is back very soon.

If there are chick/pheasant pens locally TALK TO YOUR LOCAL GAMEKEEPER. From first-hand experience with situations like this, there's a lot of money tied up in Shoots, and gamekeepers don't think twice when it comes to dogs and their chick-pens. I hope you get her back - it's already been too long.

I have asked Barley's owners to put comments and updates on here so hopefully they will let us know what searches have been done.

I have had this reply to the emails I sent ..
"Her friend came back after 6 hours, coming from roughly the same direction as she went.
The wood is large for this area but is occupied by people riding and the shoot rebuilding the pheasant pens. We reasonably confident she is not there
most people living locally know the dog is missing as do the vets and farmers
We can only hope. Thank you"

I have replied saying not to assume Barley is not still in the woods, but until some sightings come in from the posters then we can't be sure where she is.

I have suggested searching in places near to water as the weather is so hot. I have given all the advice like scenting and leaving bedding, food and water somewhere near to where she went missing.
Most importantly I have stressed that there can never be enough posters as this is what brings in sightings and news of where Barley is.

Come on Barley .. let someone see you please! Your Mum and Dad are worried about you and want you home.

I have emailed Barley's owner to see if they would let us know a little more about how she went missing. I have also sent Doglost advice email. Hoping that this girlie will be home very soon.

As usual my advice is to poster everywhere you can .. it's very important and will help you get sightings of Barley coming in. If someone has taken her in they will see the poster and hopefully ring you.

If anyone is in the area and is able to help that would be brilliant. Just let us know where you have done them so no one does the same place! It's always a good idea to put a poster up in your car window as well so it is seen wherever you go.
Thanks.
MamaBas..very good point.
When contacting the vets and Dog Wardens please try to send them a photo of Barley as not everyone will be aware of her breed and could well be mistaken for another breed .. terrier or spaniel cross even.
Good luck and I hope Barley is home very soon.Last edited: 2014-07-16 16:35:41 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Leave something with your scent on it where she was last seen - hounds on a good scent backtrack when they lose the scent and if you keep checking that spot, you may find her waiting. Does she know the area she went missing in - again if so, it's quite possible she'll come back once her 'fun' ends. Hopefully she wasn't in season? Spayed? Let the Fauve Club know she's missing- they should spread the word. And do keep checking your local Shelter. This breed isn't that well known and she could even now, be in there listed as a Terrier!! Go in in person and check!
