We had a possible sighting reported to us yesterday of a dog matching Alfie's description being walked by a man in his mid-thirties in Cambridge main market place. The nice lady that called in with this information had seen Alfie's details in the Big Issue. After contacting the owner I am sad to report that it would seem they have "moved on" although they were very grateful for our concern. I am sure they have their reasons, but want to make our vounteers aware of this. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It might be worth checking along the footpath near the Pike & Eel pub at Milton that's where a lot of dogwalkers go, also houseboats moor up in that area. Also Arbury Road Vets 01223 361911, they may have seen Alfie or could perhaps put up a poster. I will put up posters in my area (South Cambs in the morning). Don't give up hope so many people watch this website and take copies of posters with them, we're all helping each other.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Come home sweet Alfie, me and my Westie are praying you are home safely real soon, owners, poster poster poster, does the pub have CCTV outside at all? Even if it wasnt in reach of the car, it might show people hanging around. Jo xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree with Tori, it's getting ridiculous now, I dread leaving my girlie for one minute even if she's been left at home whilst I nip to the shops! Get postering absolutely everwhere even if he has been sold on locally theres not many puppies that have been sold at 17 weeks (I have had my baby from 8 weeks - is it still the same?) so if anybody has bought him it should trigger something and hopefully have him returned very soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

And if memory serves me right, Grantchester is an up-market leafy suburb of a University city - dogs are not safe ANYWHERE.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Disgusting to steal a part of someone's family from a car. Poor little Alfie is still such a young puppy and needs to be with his family. An awful way for Alfie's family to learn that thieves will snatch a dog from anywhere now and think nothing of it. Hope he is safely home very soonxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
