Great news! And I Will put my hand up for this...I did spend a lot of time on the phones to local dogwardens and police,,,and its hard work to get hold of them....Have informed them Fritzi is back...more work! they are all thrilled...Please don't attack Battersea they look regulary on our site and re-unite dogs daily...but they are busy....

It was a NIGHTMARE trying to deal with Battersea Dogs Home - my husband never did get through to anyone helpful. Each time he was directed to an ansaphone, not a person. We are not impressed. The dog belongs to a lady who has volunteered for years for the RSPCA - she is not amused. That is probably why you could not get through to my husband!

I have spoken to Hammersmith Police and they are taking Fritzi round to the owner now. She will check him out and we will take him to a vet if necessary, though the police say he is fine.

Again, many many thanks for your help. In a time of crisis you need helpful people, who understand your problem, and luckily for us, we have never been involved with a lost dog before.

Got hold of her and they are delighted! and will be joining the growing community. They were on the phone to the vets and trying to get through to Battersea.

Cant get hold of owners friend as engaged but I guess it must be the police or the wardens or Battersea telling her the good news as number left with them.

Found...I rang around local dogwardens as owner too distressed and had a report of a golden GSD found although described to me as white when photo came in it does look slightly golden so rang back...was put in touch with the police and they confirmed it had a Portuguese chip in...only a scratch on front paw!
