I'm very pleased to say that I have just heard that Poppy has been caught today and is safe and well. I will ask the people who reported her missing to put in an official report but this is definitely correct.
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
She's got to get tired of being out there. They are such a tough breed and A1 survivors. I think she will stay in the area. The breed isn't prone to wandering too far. Everything's crossed for her. x

So pleased Poppy has been seen again, fingers crossed she will be caught very soon, "Team Poppy" are working so hard to get this little girl to safety x

Poppy has been sighted again, let's hope she decides to stick around long enough to be caught.

So pleased you have expert help there. Everthing's crossed for a softly, softly great reunion. x

Poppy is being sited by the team who are helping RAYDEN to catch her, trails have been laid and the traps are in place - they will not be set until he is sure that she is totally cool with them, so that they will go off with her safe inside - also so that other animals are not trapped in them - otherwise she would go away from them. He has asked that people do not call or chase her. Thank you everybody - especially the ladies who keep food in the cages and relay the trails.

Could be nothing but saw the poster and recalled my husband saying he saw something go into the wooded area on bloxholm lane, he said it must of been a fox but wasn't quite sure because it was bigger and he didn't see a fox tail. I wanted to turn around and have a look but he said no as we were on our way out, this was over a week ago xLast edited: 2014-04-27 11:15:40 by Debbieann1

Any more news on this lady?
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
That sounds encouraging news with the sighting. Remember Shelties are very tough little dogs and can survive on next to nothing. i would imagine getting hungry now though. The expert advice below is definitely worth following.
Lisa
Possible sighting of Poppy today, although it was at distance so unsure. Light brown in colour and movement very doglike. We were walking our dog after parking up on Bloxholme Lane and headed left across fields (left if coming from Branston) towards wooded area. There was then a sign for private land on entry into wooded bit, owned by Nocton Farms. Our dog at this point picked up on a strong scent (he is a beagle) and practically pulled up over trying to get around the side of the wood. It was then the other dog was seen in the distance. We let our dog pull us along and he was frantic, never seen him behave quite like it on a scent before. The other dog disappeared into the wooded area which we search for a good while before giving up. Unfortunately we cannot let our dog off lead, or we would have had two missing! This area runs parallel to Grange Lane and when we returned we saw the post about the gamekeeper below. Have rang and informed lady on Branston number. If we can be of any more help with the info then of course we will be happy to talk. Hope Poppy is soon caught and brought home.
AlisonH
Please read and take notice of the advice given below by RAYDED. Ray has trapped many dogs for us that have been on the run for months and believe me he knows what he is talking about.

Sorry, Poppy. I meant to say Poppy not Poopy

Poopy has been sighted this week by a game keeper, who at first thought she was a fox but then realised she was a "lassie" type of dog. Unfortunately this sighting is near the next village (Nocton) in the Grange Lane area.
The trap that the breeder purchased is being taken to the area on Monday when the gamekeeper returns to work and can explain exactly where he saw her.

Any news on Poppy please?
DogLostShelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent
That sounds very sensible to me especially given the breed which are usually spooky. I was wondering what the latest news is on Poppy as she is in my thoughts. Last edited: 2014-04-20 21:34:16 by Shelties Mum - Area Volunteer, Kent

a feeding station is vital to keep this little lady in the area!!! if she was seen inthe field adjacent to the track, then it needs a drag trail all around the perimeter and around the perimeter of any other places she was sighted.. especialy gateways and gaps where she,s been seen going through HAPPILY not chased, also drag around the resevoirs but make sure that they ALL lead back to a chosen site for the trap..for a suitable drag trail i use a bucket sized container, with a fitted lid.i boil up greasy breast of lamb, chicken, throw in a couple of tins of butchers tripe mix (tripe mix is best)plenty of water.and i then use a pillow case on a dog lead.. dipping it in to the mixture i walk my perimeters and obviously redipping every 50 yards or so..but a good idea is to drop say a nice spoonfull of the tripe or a bit of chicken, just to get em excited!!! it works.. but remember 4 very important things..1 all trails must lead to an area that you choose, idealy where you can be sat quietly in a car a safe distance from the trap. 2.. if you stumble across the dog you are after say nothing at all ..about turn and run away, taking all pressure off the dog you could let it see you throw something away, as though it was your chip paper or Mc Donalds junk.keep going and still head for your trap site.. 3..the trap site should contain the best of QUALITY food not a few bonio,s or dried complete food, cooked chicken,, liver etc. and very important COVER it using a piece of old carpet or an old sack, this stops the crows and magpies nicking it. the drag trail will last up to 24 hrs..but keep checking the trap station with the good stuff.. and finally 3..i have found that after 48hrs fear takes over the best of dogs and they are to frightened to go to anyone this includes the owner!! and thats scarey..DON,T look at them, speak to them, just have that lump of good food in tissue paper ,so they can see you throw it either towards them or by them .. then retreat!! i have tried to get in touch with Andy but perhaps someone could pass this on to whoever is trying to cach POPPY. another MEGA important thing is to make sure the trap is not only big enough but strong enough to hold what ever sized dog you are after..NEVER EVER leave a trap set unattended!!! you can catch cats other peoples animals,, and if the dog you are after see,s a trapped animal in that cage, trust me they all send out the same message and it will keep well away... i hope some of this will be of use to you good people on DOG LOST UK because thats what you are...that JAYNE LADY from head office has started something QUITE UNIQUE here and whats most important!!! IT FLIPPIN WELL WORKS!!!

There is a track running at an angle between Hall Lane and Waterwheel Lane that leads to the reservoirs. This track is gated and cannot be accessed with a car. Poppy has been seen to the right of this track in the fields adjacent to Hare Wood.

The breeder and three others did spot her today but without a map it is difficult.

The breeder has been there again today and it is difficult for all concerned to ascertain where actually Poppy has been seen on this vast estate - to assist with finding where she is would it be possible for someone local to put up a map where people can mark where she is seen. This will help to know the most suitable place to leave a cage (trap) when we have one. Today she was informed that there are two reservoirs. Not being local to the area does not help her. Peggotty - can you help in any way or anyone else there.
Peggotty
thanks - a couple of us have been out today and been looking (including a 'human' search dog who seemed particl=ularly interested in a place near the reservoir between Hall Lane and Mere Lane (near where most of the sightings have been. Quite a lot of posters up now and the people I spoke seemed to be aware of her. There was a sighting this morning in fields to the west of Hall Lane (as far as I can work out - info was second hand) which is encouragingly close to her home.
Deb
Rspca Lincolnshire Mid and Lincoln, there is a post on there dated 9th April with a picture of Poppy that local people are commenting on sightings. Thank you.
Peggotty
can you say which fb group this is? I am going out to look today - but can't see anything on the rspca groups I know of(I don;t belong to any...). It would be helpful to speak to people who have seen her and know which field Poppy was seen in.
Deb
This afternoon someone posted on the RSPCA Facebook link that they were watching Poppy at the moment, just on the fields from the reservoirs but she runs off.

email in admin...
Poppy was seen yesterday evening 6pm at the fields off Hall Lane towards reservoirs. Someone tried calling her but she ran off.

Peggotty
that's great she's been seen - I'll try and get over there to get out some posters over the weekend

PS the colour is sable and white.

I suspect she may stay in the lake area for water and be open to food now. A BBQ might be a good idea but she will probably be very spooky so stealth and ignoring her until she comes up to you is essential. Sudden movements should be avoided. Patience with food is probably the best tack now. Everything crossed for you.

Poppy has been sighted by the lake behind Branston Hall.

Have just sent a photo to the admin email address of a dog of very similar colour. Poppy is a little finer in build and her ears are more pricked but otherwise very similar.

Email sent with all local information and advice sheets and details added to Doglost Lincs FB page. Twitter requested.

Spoken to a lady who is helping with the search and unfortunately the owner doesn't have a photo of Poppy. Does anyone have a photo I can use please as need to send out email alerts.
