I'll put some posters up at work tomorrow (council offices in Aylesbury). The more people looking out for her, the better xx

Don't know how I've missed this one, but it's very close to me (I live at Watermead). I'm at work tomorrow, but will be able to have a drive around the area on Friday. Are there lots of posters up? Have you asked local farmers to check outbuildings etc, asked local pubs to display posters? I can ask the vet at Watermead to display a poster if you haven't asked already x

I am happy to come out on Fri 7th and have a look around the area from where Dottie first went missing. x

Hi Peter Why not ask The Bucks Herald to run a story on Dottie. I just feel that the more we make these missing dogs as Too hot to handle" the quicker they tend to come back!Last edited: 2014-02-24 11:35:20 by ClaireC

Fluffylegs Its in between Aston Abbots & Cublington. It lies up a farm track with footpaths going off to the right when walking up the lane to the farms at the top the footpaths go down into Aston Abbots a little bit further on.Last edited: 2014-02-10 19:11:23 by ClaireC

Hi Peter, we did get over to the area today and have walked around some very muddy footpaths! I see that you have done a lot of postering on the footpaths but some of them have become rain sodden unfortunately and might be an idea to re-poster if you have time. I spoke to quite a few dog walkers and if they weren't aware they are now and have shown them a photo of Dottie from my phone and aware of where the posters are if they see her to get in touch with you. I did go to the Royal Oak at Aston Abbots and the landlady has said she would be more than willing to display a poster in the pub and as a further thought if you can do some smaller version (half and A4 page) then customers can take them with them. She did give me the phone number of Tracey Arnold (I think you may know her as she does know you)I have spoken to her and although she hasn't seen her she is very aware and is actively looking when out and about. As there are so many farms up there I haven't walked across private land but not sure if you have approached the farmers themselves to make them aware as Dottie could be holed up in one of their barns. Again might be good to give them a poster. Mix 96 local radio are another good source for alerting people and I think if you go onto their website there is a form which can be filled in with Dottie's details for people who visit the site will be able to see her. Place a poster inside the Royal Mail letter boxes in the villages as the postmen are another good source for keeping their eyes open and they do tend to take the poster(s) back to the Sorting Office for other staff to see. Local Florists and likewise milkmen (if you have them) are good for posters especially as they are out and about early morning like the postmen. You might also like to report Dottie as possibly being stolen now and in which case you will need a Crime Reference Number (not incident number) just in case the police visit any known areas. I do believe from conversations today with folk in your community that dog theft is/has been a problem over the recent months! Please feel free to phone me if you think I can offer any more advice or if you would like me to come over again if Dottie doesn't show herself over the next few days. Or indeed if snybody decides to organise a search party and I am available then I will gladly come over. x

Claire, Thank you ever so much.
ClaireC
Hopefully my husband and I will be able to get over there this morning from 11 am just letting the flood waters drop a little bit to enable us to get out of our village! He seems to know the Norduck area fairly well and I believe there are some woods around there. I will check back on here in a minute but feel free to phone me on 07887652916.
peterclunie
Around Norduck - a little bit west of Norduck and heading west. She was wearing a collar.
ClaireC
Peter exactly where abouts did Dottie go missing, I know you said Cublington & Aston Abbots but which direction or landmarks etc would be useful? It might be that I will have a few spare hours in the morning and can come along over and have a look around if this helps. Also was she wearing a collar at the time?
peterclunie
Still no sign of her. Janet, Rotherfield must be about 70 miles away from where she went missing.

Have just seen this but seem not to have had notification as a helper...will get posters out....please be aware that there are lots of gypsy camps around....will make contact with others who have had dogs lost and found and through our central bedfordshire dog training club tomorrow, based in Kensworth.
janet newton brown fisher
dont now if this is in your area found a dead dog in Rotherfield today, with a collar but no name tag. It was a black and white spaniel. We have taken it to Culverden Vets in Crowborough, who will hold it for 7 days in case the owner is found.

Sorry to see that DOTTIE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (63965)

  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
