It's now 3 yrs since Chilli disappeared and her owner is STILL looking and hoping this girl is found . Thanks Labradorlil for the link to dogpages !!!  Chillis owner checked it  out but it wasnt Chilli :-((. but we are still hoping that they will find her.  Chilli is definitely a blue bedlington and her eyes are distinguishable as they are liver colour.  There have been a few possibles  which people have put forward ( and thank you so much for that )  but sadly they werent her.   Hopefully, bumping Chilli up might jog people to check any other found Bedlingtons again   Helen xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that Mollychops :-).    I spoke to Chillis owner last night and passed the info on for her to check out as I was working today 8.30 - 6.30pm so wouldnt have had chance to check it out as St Giles only take calls up to 5.30pm.   Owner is going to check it out and get back to me.  We had another previous found Bedlington at Springfield Kennels we checked but it wasnt Chilli. I keep checking out any found ones I come across. Would be so nice if she was found and before Xmas . Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chyna, I saw a couple, probably in 50's with a beddie up at the ponds, my village, last Saturday mid afternoon. (Could have been you, not sure)! Beddie was wearing a red collar. Also saw the other one in Gilwern by Dell stores (taller dog) last week, but I think you have ruled that one out, haven't you!!!! So sorry I didn't stop, as usual rushing to horses. If I see the one up here again, I will certainly stop. XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi BC. Thanks for the phone call. As discussed, you DID NOT invite me to the area in question in May. However, you did invite me to Stow and Usk both of which I was unable to attend due to family commitments. Having spoken to Chyna AFTER you had been there back in May, she did not mention AT ALL that she had enquired after Lucy and Buster as well as her own Chilli. This indeed upset me, as you can imagine, as I had indeed told you where to go. Also, that particalar week I had managed to get coverage of all three dogs (plus others) in the Brecon & Radnor Express! I apologise sincerely if my remark upset you, but it is what I found to be correct at the time. Thank you for continuing to search for Lucy and Buster - It really is very much appreciated. It is great to see you back and don't know where the time has gone at all it's lovely to hear a reassuring voice after all these months!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Twmballyn, Hi, as ive not been on doglost for a while, I was surprised to see your post dated 7/5/2007, i did contact you to tell you we were going to the area youd specified, and asked if you wanted to come with us, but you were unable to, and also to imply that well we were there we did not look for Lucy and Buster is an insult, as it happens i look for lucy and buster everywhere i go, and have posters of them on my van at all times, ive spoken to you many times regarding your dogs, and find your comment amazing!!!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chyna, I have seen a tall beddie being walked in Gilwern three times over the past fortnight with a blonde lady, probably in her 40's, 50's. However, it is wearing a blue collar (so probably a boy) - you never know!! Once by the dell stores, once by Gilwern Garage waiting to cross and third time heading up Church Road towards Malford Grove. Couldn't stop as I was flying by to do the horses! Also, dog thief walked by my place last night. Last time he did this, my dogs were gone within a fortnight!!! Keep your little 'uns safe. XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can't believe it, after posting yesterday I saw the Beddie again tonight. I was driving, turned around as soon as I could but they'd gone. They were on foot again. They must live around here so chances are I'll see them again. Couldn't see whether a dog or bitch but looked like a well looked after bigger type Beddie clipped like Chilli's photo. No BC I haven't seen the Beddie again but am always on the look out. Sorry about the late reply but don't worry, if I thought I'd found Chilli I'd be on the phone straight away probably in hysterics!! I've started two small sections for missing dogs on my training website, one for local dogs and another for missing dogs further afield. I've put Chilli on both just in case she is around the Midlands. www.puppypawstraining.co.ukLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had some information on one of the thiefs contacts, so we spent the day trying to find this place. Three people in the area directed us to the same location, we spoke to the people at this address, and they do know the suspects, and asked if the reward was a No Questions Asked Reward, which we found quite interesting, so hoping we might get something back from this.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Maybe the Bedlington was a "working type" Bedlington. My last female Bedlington was taller and had a large frame generally. The KC breed standard if based on the finer boned Beddie. Fingers crossed that Chilli is safely home very soonxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks BC. Was too far away to see whether this was a dog or bitch but it was large for a Beddie. Hi tori, we have asked the Horse and Hound to do an article on Chilli, ive even written to them, when i first spoke to them they said they would only put a lost dog in if it was a famous owner, i then wrote to them, and they still wouldnt put it in, chillis owner advertises in there all the time, but even that didnt persuade them!!!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Lottie and Roma's mum here, thank you so much for your help re Countrymans weekly. I truly believe that with that and the other paper plus our postering(again) this man finally contacted us. The free ads paper (covers about five counties) put Lotties picture in there for three weeks. The mans wife saw Lottie here and he saw her the Countrymans weekly. Can you put a picture of Chili in your local free ads as well to run for at least three weeks. Its always worth a try. Also try changing the format of your poster. Change the photo, alter the words and colour. We did this a number of times. Sometimes people see the same poster and then just dont see it. A change makes them notice again. We bought a staple gun, laminated the posters and stapled them everywhere! I really hope you are reunited very soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thankyou yet again for your unwavering support it makes you stronger and makes you fight harder. Countrymans Weekly are brilliant every week they advertise stolen dogs via Doglost , it gives stolen dogs a country wide coverage in the press which is difficult to get a foot in the door, a few more canine magazines should take note and look hard and listen to this rapidly growing crime, instead of pushing it to one side, all stolen dogs derserve the right to go home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everyone I am the owner of Chilli, I must firstly appologise for not replying sooner but I have had computer problems and a battle to get broadband which was unsucessfull! Chilli what has happened to you? where are you? Are you ok? these are just a few questions that revolve inside my mind, from my first waking moment to my last, when night falls.Dog theft - I have seen people in television programs, newspaper articles etc and my heart went out to the owners but when I became the victim of dog theft last June I realised the true anguish of this crime. Doglost has helped me through these dark days , given me hope, when you think you have none, and I must take this opportunity to especially thank Kathy Clements who has given me support and courage to keep fighting to get my Chilli home, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions through the ups and downs of Chilli's theft and Kath has been there at every twist and turn and become a life long friend . At long last Chillis owner has internet access, she will be posting on the site this evening, hopefully Sue the early morning alarm call will not be neccessary. Joking apart, Chilli is out there somewhere, and im sure it wont be long before she is found, we will just have to keep pursuing every lead we get, and now that after 8 months we have eventually been given a crime number, we will chase the police up hill and down dale. Come home soon Chilli xxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hopefully the time will come when Chilli is scanned and you get that important telephone call. There is one avenue I would take if my dog was missing. I deliver the Merseymart which is a free local paper in Liverpool, Merseyside. Each week there are lots of leaflets to be delivered with it. It may worth getting some small A5 leaflets printed and paying to get them delivered with what ever free local paper is delivered in the areas you want to target. Or approach a company that just do leaflet deliveries. If you could not go the direct route to paper, then try and find out who actually delivers the paper etc and give them say ?5.00 for a large quantity, they get paid buttons from the supplier. Hope this helps and everyone is rooting for Chillie to come home she is lovely. If you need any further advice on the leaflet distribution just send me a p.m. Luv Jan (Liverpool) xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately Sue is having trouble with her internet connection so has been unable to post a message on this site herself. She is so grateful for all the good wishes and is very touched by so many peoples concerns. I can only say that Chilli's disappearance has effected Sue badly and she is desperate to have her back. Sue has lots of animals horses, dogs and cats and she adores them all. So Chilli's disappearance has left a very big whole in her life. I shall be attending boot sales in Cardiff on Saturday and will keep a look out for Chilli. I am glad the site is up and running again after last weeks problem- and just when it seemed that many people were trying to get particulars of how to donate by standing order. I hope they are just as determined now and have made their pledges. Good luck everyone We need this siteLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If any helpers could put Chillis posters in vet and pet shops etc, in their area, dosnt matter where you live, as we do not now know chillis whereabouts she could be anywhere in the country, that would be fantastic, please help if you can.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry your girl is still mising. She must look very moppie-coated by now and probably unrecognisable as the well-groomed dog on the poster. Lets hope her microchip is the key to getting her home.God Bless, the Beddie Lurchers XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik, we have already postered the area in Bristol where we know this person has contacts, also ran a large advert in the Bristol Evening Post for three days, with Chillis picture, we had a few people call, one quite interesting chap, who actually knows the person we think took chilli, and he is making enquiries for us in the Bristol areaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Police and Rspca have been to an address today where we had a tip off that Chilli was there, along with other stolen dogs, unfortunately she wasnt there, im sure Chilli would now be out of the area, so would HQ please ask helpers in other areas to help, perhaps we could as Nik suggested regig the poster, with "Chill Still Missing" has this dog appeared in your area, since June 2006, something like thats, thanks JayneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been speaking to Crickhowell Police regarding Chill, we have some information on Chilli, we now know who had Chilli after she disappeared, the police have spoken to the person concerned, and of course he denies knowing anything about it, we now know that Chilli was in the Llanelly Hill area, but has probably been sold on, this person has contacts in Bristol, so anyone in the Bristol area, please keep your eyes out for Chilli, if anyone could poster vets, etc , in the Redfield, Kingswood, St.George area, that would be great, many thanks BCLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to Abergavenny Chronicle newspaper, and they have agreed to do an editorial regarding Chilli, they will be ringing chillis owner next week to get her story etc. We are also double checking the Bedlington/Terrier Cross found in the river in Gorseinon, originally she was discounted as being chilli because they said she was a cross, and that she was a very old dog, but after speaking to many tears yesterday, they said they now think she is a lot younger than they thought, and a proper bedlington. Aslo this little dog was found only 8 weeks after chilli dissapeared, and this was around the time she confronted the person who had been seen with chilli. Many tears did scan this dog and no microchip was found, but sometimes they are missed, i know i checked one of my dogs the other day, found the microchip number, went to write it down, and the scanner turned off, i knew exactly where the chip was situated, and it took me 15 minutes with the scanner to try and locate it again. The dog has been rehomed, and they are making enquiries for us, so will update as soon as we know anymore. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just been on 'other questions and chatter' on dogpages and there is a thread about a bedlington being rescued from a pound by Greyhound gap. She is in foster at the moment. The thread is 'Gaps newest arrival amazing what you can find under a bundle of matted fluff'. ChrisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will put out posters of Chillii in the well know parks and walks in the Canton/Ely/Llandaff area of Cardiff this week. I have also sent the email to the local vets in that area too. I'll do everything I can to help, as such a lovely breed, wishing you're home safe and sound soon.. love and licks - Maxine a dogwalker from Cardiff xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There was a Bedlington type, possibly a cross, at Sunnyside Kennels in Wolverhampton at the weekend, although if Chili has been chipped it is unlikely to be her. I say cross - I guess if a dog had been straying or away from home for a considerable length of time they are going to look scruffy. I'm sure you know what I mean :-/Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So true Lurcherlass, a Bedlington was my first dog and have had them ever since. My usual description is that they are roughly the size of a miniature poodle, look a bit like a lamb and can be blue, which is sort of grey/white or liver. Beddies are totally addictive and have very strong characters. Worth checking www.epupz.co.uk as it lists adults and puppies for sale with and without KC papers. Hurry home soon ChillixxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's a good point Tori, I wish I had ?1 for every time an admirer had asked me if my dogs were Irish Wolfhound puppies! My mates Bedlington looks very hairy when his clip grows out, not so much curly, as moppie (and totally gorgeous). Hope this lovely girl is home soon.XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Most people would not recognise a Bedlington as there aren't many breeders, so worth looking for terrier cross or even Poodle crossxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well done for having your girl chipped, that will help to get her back to you. If someone is keeping her with the plan of breeding from her, they will soon register the fact that she hasn't come into season yet and realise she is speyed. Hopefully then, they will turn her loose and the dog warden or a rescue will scan her and you will get the phone call you are waiting for. Checking every day for news. Typical Bedlington to rush off after a rabbit and then wonder how to get home! We have had these wonderful dogs in our family since I was a child and some do love to chase. Hope Chili is safely reunited with her family very soon. Good thing that she has been chippedxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
