Oh, so very tragic - I too have shed some tears. I am so very sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this terrible time, but who do now have closure. Run free at the bridge, lovely Stella - plenty of rabbits there to chase xxxx
Stella's Dad
I'm totally lost for words here.

I was travelling across the M62 tonight in my 44 tonne truck, and, rightly or wrongly, decided to check the progress of the search, and when I saw Rainbow Bridge, I did something that we truck drivers don't do, and that was shed tears. I immediately contacted my family to tell them the devastating news, and they too were upset at the sad news of Stella.

The only thing to come out of this, is the fact that she has now been found, and the uncertainty ends.

We the Quinn family send our thoughts to Sandy and Graham, and thank all those that took the time to help in the search. We only wish the outcome had been different.
Liz
So sorry to hear that Stella didnt make it home, she'll always be with you in your heart xxx

I am so sorry that Tiga did not bring you the outcome we had all hoped for but Stella looked so peaceful lying there in the long grass and she wasn't alone - there were beautiful hares running around and ducks swimming on the pond nearby. Fun free now sweet Stella. So sorry for Sandy & Graham.

You may not be together, In the way you used to be;
But you're both connected by a cord, that no human eye can see.

Nice to meet you today Bluebell and Rachael. I have just got back but sadly no luck although Sandy and I did find some dog footprints leading from a dry ditch going towards the chicken farm. Last edited: 2013-12-30 15:51:43 by AlisonH

Ad is on Lincs gumtree, has been tweeted and retweeted to look north presenter, skegness standard, etc. Been out since 7.30, walking fields, asking people. Posters now at two main recycling centres. And main bus depot. Last edited: 2013-12-30 13:34:26 by bluebell
bluebell
I've put an ad on Lincolnshire gumtree 'missing pets', hopefully it won't take long to go ''live''.
Dizzy_isla
Going there first thing. Then I need to poster down by the caravan sites on the way to Vicars point and have a look round.
Rachnchick
I couldn't find anyone about on that farm to ask but I did have a very quick look around the outbuildings - there are quite a few old static caravans with open doors and lots of hiding places so definitely worth a look if you can track the farmer down
Dizzy_isla
No, she stayed on the same side and headed off towards the chicken sheds across the fields to the right as you stand looking towards Addlethorpe.
Rachnchick
Which direction did she go in? Did she cross the road?
Dizzy_isla
Thank you everyone.
The lady that saw Stella on Christmas Day met me at the stadium tonight to show me where she was last seen and which direction she went in. We have checked that area several times, but am checking there again, the golf course is being checked daily by the people that work there and the golfers are all asked to keep a look out.Last edited: 2013-12-29 19:45:19 by Dizzy_isla
Rachnchick
I was out for about 5 hours on Friday looking. Have driven around all nearby roads checking hedgerows, been to golf course, local farms to check barns and caravan parks to check under vans. I've walked around a lot of the dykes and hedgerows in the fields opposite the stadium. Been back yesterday and today too but no joy.
It has been shared and updated regularly on all the local Facebook sites.
Feel a bit helpless though, if there's anything more I can do, please let me know - I have lurchers myself, can't rest until we find this little one!
Stella's Dad
Thanks for the updates guys, and keep up the good work.

Like others, I'm too far away to be of any use, but am wishing you all well.
AlisonH
Have spoken to Sandy tonight and am going to meet her tomorrow to give her some laminated posters and lend her my night vision monoculars in the hope that it will help.
Kinsally
So sorry there was no news today, but good there was confirmation about the Christmas day sighting. Would Stella of gone into hiding during the day & then be coming out during the night when she feels safe? This has been the case of some missing dogs as they can lay low until nightfall. Would it be possible for anyone to keep lookout during the night in a car somewhere? Even cooking some tasty food on a portable bbq may tempt her out? I'm trying to think back on different methods which have been used. I would love to see Stella reunited with her family xx
Debz
No joy again today but confirmation that the sighting on Christmas day near the stadium was definitely Stella
Kinsally
Sending good luck wishes to you in finding beautiful Stella today & getting her back home safe & sound. Wish I was nearer to help. Love & best wishes to you all xx
Stella's Dad
Lets hope today is the day.

Good luck with the search today, I hope you find her safe. Sending love to you Stella and your family xxx

Thers are still people looking in the Boston area just in case.
Dizzy_isla
Seems the sighting may have been a coursing dog which may have been left behind.

Dizzy_isla
I've contacted the Vets in Boston in case she's brought in to them
meggie
Do so hope and pray she's picked up soon.
Dizzy_isla
Possible sighting about 1 hour ago. Near the castle pub A52 near Boston. My husband is there and is looking but if anyone is in that area please look out for her. Someone was following her and trying to catch her. I have alerted the Vets in Boston in case she is brought in. Would make sense if she is trying too head home.
Dizzy_isla
Have just been out and put posters up in Chapel St Leonards and Ingoldmells
rescue_mum
Poor lamb, hope you find her soon xxx
Agree with others that she will more than likely head back to where she last saw her humans.
Good luck <3
Dizzy_isla
Have been out and put posters up in Gunby, Candlesby, posters handed to taxi drivers in Skegness, sorting office in Skeg. Postered bins near bus stops around area. Put posters up in Sloothby and checked out buildings around there. Still no sign at all.
Debz
Unfortunately, the sighting was a false alarm :(
AlisonH
Sloothby is only about 5 miles from where she went missing. Let's hope it is her and she will give herself up today it's far too cold for an old dog to be on the run.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Bumped due to this possible sighting.

If the owners haven't already - they should contact Keiths Rescue Dogs and Fenbank Greyhound Rescue, as they both take lost/found lurchers from the police.
rescue_mum
I'm also quite a distance away but have shared an appeal for help with the search on my facebook page.
Hope poor Stella is found very soon so her injuries can be assessed and treated, thoughts are with her family xxx
sallybee
I am a long way from the area so please, is there anyone South Lincs near Skegness who can help the search to find this lovely lady who is injured and frightened and needs to be reunited with her family, and get to the vets?
AlisonH
Owner is out on the golf course searching right now. If anyone is able to help with the search please call her mobile 07901884805 and arrange to meet up. She believes Stella is badly injured and needs to be found ASAP. Bumping to the top as there was a possible sighting near the golf course that was reported to the police last night.Last edited: 2013-12-26 09:20:45 by AlisonH

Please look UNDER all caravans, decking, any structures raised from the ground including stadium seating. It's surprising how small a lurcher can curl up. And please keep checking all the places you have checked before in case she has crept back looking for her people.Last edited: 2013-12-25 20:23:40 by Owl
