A very big thank you from all of us for your very kind and cherised words and support. We know that so many people were looking for our Lily and keeping us strong. We loved her so much and we have a huge labrador-sized hole in our hearts. We will continue to support doglost and look out for any missing dogs locally, so that we can provide the same support for others. All our very best to all.

I'm so very very sorry Alex. All I can say is the response to this was tremendous and it may give you a little comfort to know how many people are thinking of you and your family at this moment. You could not want for a better friend than Julie Hill who did so much and she must be devastated too. I send you my warmest thoughts.
Sonia
I just wanted to add my deepest sympathies for your loss. I have been following Lily's story for a while, and thought about her every day, and where-ever I went, in the area, I kept my eyes open for her. I am so very sorry to hear this news, and am shedding tears while I type this. Words will never be enough to soothe your pain and heartache, but as others have said, I hope you find comfort in the knowing that she is back with you now. My very deepest condolences. Life seems so unfair at times. It's so obvious just how much you loved and tried to find Lily and what a big part of your life she has been. I know it's difficult right now but maybe some other 'little four legged friend ' will enter your lives , not to replace but to give happiness . If that happens then they will be very lucky as I just know they will be very much loved x

I'm so very sorry. Thanks to the lovely people that found Lily and reunited her with her family.
MJ
Alex, it must be so distressing for you and your family. As if you were losing Lily for a 2nd time. At least now you know where she is and she is back with you. That is a comfort, even though a small one. You can start mourning, another very sad phase of your life. As you said, it is so nice of the people who found her to have taken the time to locate you and understood that the dog they had found was surely loved and missed, and the owners would want to know what happened to her. I'm crying as I type this. I am so, so very sorry to hear this sad news tonight. You have already suffered so much since Lily went missing on Christmas Eve, not knowing where she was. Try to take some comfort in that you have found your beloved Lily and you have been able to say goodbye to her. I'm just so sorry I never got to meet her. Your memories of all the happy times you all had together will last forever and until you meet again, Run Free Dear Lily at Rainbow Bridge.xxx

Hi, Lily's family here. With great sadness we have to say that our beloved Lily was found by some very good people on the riverbank near Chiswick bridge this afternoon. We were able to bring her home one last time. Thankyou to everyone who has supported us and helped in the search. Especially Julie Hill, you've been amazing. x

Thanks for suggestion al, we know people in Butts Farm who are keeping an eye out and thanks for your support in looking.
al.
I walk in Crane Park every day and have seen the posters. I know Butts Farm which is the estate next to the park has a Facebook page,it is a closed group but it might be worth asking to join to post your story. Good Luck with your search I live local to the park so will keep an eye out.
Colin
Thanks for the thought Spindle we have checked all contact details are up to date.
Thanks Shelagh have checked but not our Lily.

No so I have just emailed them again. The new poster with Lily's updated picture is being widely circulated and reaching people around the Country. If readers / re-tweeters can kindly inform their vets too & pass on the poster to raise awareness that would be very helpful as it's a huge job
Trace1065
Any news from the Darlington kennel? Come Lily hurry up and come home.
Colin
Checked Crane Park and through Kneller Gardens today upto South Thames College Park, dissapointly many posters appear to have been taken down, particularly those put up last week with the reward amount and those by the bench where Lily went missing. Replaced them and would ask local residents and dog walkers to keep an eye out and let us know if they see anyone taking them down. Last edited: 2014-01-26 13:30:16 by Colin

Alex, the black lab that was found in Darlington is at www.strayaction.com there is a phone number on the website. We've got everything crossed that Lily will be back where she belongs soon. Xx

Walked to marble hill park on Thursday after your post about sighting of black lab no luck! I am also noticing that the posters keep disappearing!! I live local to crane park walk my dog regularly there It makes me cross that someone keeps taking them down! Heartless!!! Stilling spreading the word to all fellow dog walkers! Along my route. Stay positive
Colin
Walked Marble Hill this morning and around Isleworth, put more posters up and replaced some ones which were a bit weathered. Replaced the posters on Butts Farm near Towfield Road again as someone had removed them again, must be 5 times now. Anyone in that area if you see anyone removing the posters please let us know with a description of the person and we will follow up.Last edited: 2014-01-26 13:25:36 by Colin

Hello Trace. Thanks you so much for looking out for Lily. We really appreciate you looking for her on your walks in Hounslow Heath and Bedfont Lakes. We have put posters up on the Heath and the lakes. As you can see, Julie has emailed the dog centre on your link. Thanks so much for pointing this out. We are so,so grateful for all the help people are giving us in the search for our beloved family dog. Last edited: 2014-01-25 16:24:55 by Colin

I saw that listing too but didn't think it was Lily although couldn't zoom in on the photo. I have emailed the rescue centre in Darlington to ask what sex the dog is and if chipped & sent them Lily's poster. Will update this as soon as I hear.
Trace1065
Alex have been following your search for Lily since boxing day. We usually walk our own dog at bedfont lakes and around hounslow heath area and have been keeing an eye out for her. I know its along shot but have you seen this?

Please can someone add Lily's details to dogs lost West London Facebook .

Had two calls today from good people telling us about a Black Lab wandering around Thames Ditton, Unfortunately for us it wasn't Lily but the good news is Barnabus has been reunited with his owner. All done before it even got onto here.
Good friend Alison walked Marble hill Park today but no luck,
MJ as Julie said adjacent roads around area where Lily went missing were leafleted by us Christmas Day and Boxing Day,but thanks for the thought.
Colin
Had a message tonight about a black lab seen running loose in Marble Hill Park yesterday. Was anyone else in the area yesterday or today did you see anything ? or visiting the park tomorrow, please keep an eye out. Posters put up when went there late last night.Last edited: 2014-01-23 12:49:37 by Colin
Julie Dogs
MJ yes I believe Lily's family leafleted nearby houses straight after Lily disappeared and they continually poster and give out leaflets. The dog at Squires was male and the people at Squires know who owns it. The dog on the Fulwell GC belongs to the gardener but he is aware that Lily is missing and keeping an eye out in that area.
MJ
Exactly my thought, and also to clarify if the dog seen wandering near Squires after her disappearance was her or not. There are cctv camera right above. Big brother is watching everything in that area. Alex did you do any door to door, dropping leaflets or even knocking at doors in specific streets?
Julie Dogs
Hundreds of re-tweets tonight, 4 weeks on. Word is spreading much wider which is great and what is needed. Any news on the CCTV front? If it is the same person, this could be crucial to finding Lily.
Colin
Checked with Port of London Authority again today, very helpfull guy from Marine Dept, also spoke to very helpfull lady at the Environment agency and they checked with local teams for the area, both confirmed no dogs fitting Lily's description have been found since Xmas Eve. Good news of sorts. Also contacted Lily's dad family and they have circulated to gundog friends.

Still searching, still hoping we'll see you again soon Lilypops. Last edited: 2014-01-21 22:39:28 by Colin
Colin
4 weeks today.

We want you home Lilypops.
MJ
Alex.I didn't see any owner and the dog had disappeared by the time I got to the bridge. Some of the dog owners who live around there, very close to the park, do let their dogs go for a walk on their own. I used to live in the area and witnessed it. Julie. Yes I do FB the poster and tweet too. Re Richmond Mag I was wondering if a pic in the next mag would help as well?
Alison Read
Re posted the Lily's poster on the Lincoln avenue website again just to remind everyone to keep looking for her. Fingers crossed!
Julie Dogs
I have included TW & Richmond magazines in my tweets so they are aware. Lily's poster is being circulated around the Gundog circuit too.
The more people who can share her Missing poster on FB the better so MJ and others please do help with this if you can!
Colin
Mj - did the Staffie owner turn up ? Will look at magazines option.
MJ
I was walking in Crane Park early pm yesterday too. Saw a dark dog totally on her own by one of the bridges. It was a staffie. Gave me a shock for a second. Have you been in touch with any Richmond Magazines to place an ad? is it called Richmond Green?I am not sure if it is quaterly. It is distributed to all households in the area of Twick and Richmond...perhaps further
Colin
Walked River to Modgen again today and full circuit of Crane Park with very good friends, thanks you for your support. Replaced a few posters with new posters with reward. Followed upon possible sighting in Hampton this afternoon but unfortunately not our Lily. Checking all ads and rescue websites Last edited: 2014-01-28 19:00:29 by Colin
MJ
Sorry...meant footage!
MJ
Alex. I can't today but could perhaps tomorrow. I will know in the morning. What about the railway? Have you contacted the people in charge? The fence is not that great or did not used to be anyway and it is close to where you last saw Lily. Also, did anything happen with the police re the attempted snatches? Lastly, were you able to access CCTV footings of the day, either police, private (by Loch Fyne restau, may be others?) or on line (traffic cameras - there are some on the A316 - not sure if they can be accessed on line?). Sorry I woke up thinking of Lily and with these questions on my mind!!! :-))
Colin
Searching all the rescue sites every day. Had a message third hand about a black lab going up to a runner in Crane Park sometime over Xmas holidays, waiting for a call from the person to get more information. Had a call again about black lab seen by Fulwell golf course/Squires yesterday afternoon, may be the groundsmans dog but will check again today.
Searching again today and Crane Park tomorrow from Meadway at 11.00am if anyone else wants to help searchLast edited: 2014-01-28 18:58:18 by Colin

I took an updated laminated poster to Tesco Isleworth last Thursday and asked them to put it on their noticeboard. Haven't yet been back to check they have. Lily's family were going to ask Sainsbury's at Hampton. I also gave an updated poster to Squires pet centre yesterday. Shops at Sixth Cross Road, Fish & Chip Shop, 3 Newsagents, Percy Chapman & Medivet Twickenham are all displaying posters.
MJ
Is it worth putting large posters at local supermarkets? you'd need to ask permission first....
Colin
Thanks everyone! So good to know people are helping us look for Lily. So grateful.
Alison Read
Keep positive we are all looking for her and spreading the word for u and your family!
Colin
Port of London have confirmed they have no knowledge of black Labrador being found since Xmas Eve
Julie Dogs
Yes agree with MJ. There are a huge number of people looking for Lily and spreading the word, so try to keep positive.
Colin
Thanks MJ
MJ
Come on Lily! Time to come home!! It must be very very hard Alex but keep positive. A lot of us, although not all inputting on DL, are keeping our eyes peeled to pavements, greens, alleyways, when driving through Twick, Hanworth.....Lily is on our minds at all time.

A guy called Mark just called and pointed me towards a photo of the flooded river by the White Swan in Twickenham in the Richmond and Twickenham Times with Labrador in the foreground. Landlord said picture was taken yesterday and about 11.30am, Unlikely to be Lily but still want to check it out. Anyone in that area please keep an eye out. We will also check later todayLast edited: 2014-01-13 14:20:11 by Colin

Thanks for that link Pat. We have been lookin here, but good to get a reminder.
Colin
Thanks for suggestion Pat we are checking that site every day and any other ones we can find.
Pat
Have you checked here Alex? Just a thought.
http://www.labrador-rescue.org.uk/dogs.html
Colin
Thanks for the information MJ, appreciatte you taking the time to post.
Walked Crane Park again today with good friend Julie (thank you so much) handed some leaflets to the Friends of River Crane Group who offerred their support, thanks to them to. Replaced some posters appealing for any information from anyone who was in the park Xmas Eve afternoon. Went to Squires Twickenham before dawn this morning to check if any dogs loose (previous reported sighting) still no luck
MJ
Alex, beware, a black lab used to live and might still live in the grounds of the school by the Hampton Green/border of Bushy Park. He and another black dog (a bitch) regularly escape or used to anyway and the local residents have been complaining about it. I myself had to stop the traffic last year in order to make sure that one of the dogs crossed the road safely, by the green
Colin
Checked Richmond sighting last noght no luck, very busy area and noticed there wer two local rugby matches on yesterday so if tehre was a dog roaming around someone reported it to the dog wardens. Noticed some posters at Hanworth end of Crane Park had been removed again, so replaced them again.
Colin
Had a call today about a sighting of a Black Labrador on the green by Hampton Court yesterday, went today to check but no luck, put some posters up. Another call this afternoon while we were out searching of a sighting of a Black Labrador on its own down the Kew road near to where it joins the A316 at Richmond.Checking this evening. anyone in these areas please keepa look out.

Hi Alex,I have sent Kim an email from Admin to ask her to get in touch with you.
Colin
Hi Kim
Could you please send any details on the source of the information to us even by message on my mobile number on the poster as I want to check. Thanks
Julie Dogs
Very sad for dog and owner but hopefully not Lily as much larger and different shape. Richmond & Twickenham Times have today published a letter from NHW co-ordinator I know which is great. On Sunday there is a volunteer clean up day at the River Crane. Would be good to spread the word then.Last edited: 2014-01-10 09:16:58 by Julie Dogs
Kim Tasso
I don't want to be negative but I saw the following on a local (Twickenham) dog walkers' post earlier today - as a long shot it could be Lilly (let's hope not)
"Sadly a dead staffie type was found by dog walker in Thames near Teddington today, could have been in water work few days, pls share and pm if you can help find this poor dogs owners, looks mainly black but very hard to tell. Xx"
Julie Dogs
Have been replacing original posters with updated posters from Cranefield playing field to Kneller Gardens. Also put a new poster on Sixth Cross bridge and some of the shops are displaying them. Fantastic response from the people I have met who are so upset for you all and say they will keep an eye out. Am grateful to everyone who has been re-tweeting my tweets. Number growing every day.
Unknown
unlikely from picture, but we are checking anyway, tried to call but they are not open today.
she is also now showing as lost on the animal wardens website

This looks rather like Lily, please check. They haven't stated whether she was a stray or donated?
http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/dog/1109479/jess#.Us3woHggHCQ
Unknown
Hi Alex, sadly she's still not listed on animalwardens.co.uk however it does appear that you can list her yourself and submit a photo. This makes sense as quite often I see duplicate entries ( I now understand ) clearly the additions with photos are submitted by the owners. Obviously I would advise you cross reference for yourself all the labs that have been found on that site as her details are not listed... I'm still checking other sites for you, hope she's home soon .
Julie Dogs
I am continually tweeting as many people and organisations as I can think of and adding to them all the time. The number of RTs is fantastic. An updated poster with more information about Lily is being distributed.
Colin
Request now made for Lily To be added to animal wardens website,
Colin
Wardens have been advsied and have been phoned since, we have been told they have Lily's details. Can you tell us which web site you were looking on ?
Unknown
Not sure if it's just a fault on internet tonight but I've just searched on the animal wardens site and Lily isn't listed. I entered 'lost' + 'labrador' + TW2 and nothing comes up? I thought I would mention just in case the local wardens haven't listed her correctly. I hope she's home soon x
Sonia
Another thought - contact http://www.twickenhamcc.co.uk/tcc/contact-us/ - that's the Twickenham Cycling Club. The members there may help too. Above all - stay strong! I can imagine this is tearing you apart inside - but you're doing everything you can, and you have a lot of people here to support you. As always - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Colin
shared with more people today who will also be posting on facebook, more postering tonight, please keep looking, this is so hard.
Sonia
Have you postered the Winning Post pub/restaurant in Twickenham. She may have passed by that way.
Also email Richmond Volleyball club: contact@richmondvolleyball.co.uk Ask if they will let their members know. I'm thinking these sporty types may spend larger times in parks, etc. Also try emailing churches in the area - just heard of someone who did that, and got reunited that way. When you email them, put all the email addresses in the BCC box with a comma separating them all as that way it will land with them as an individual, not be deleted as a mass mailout. Following your search and praying for your Lily. Keeping you all in my thoughts.
Julie Dogs
I'm still tweeting and contacting other councils too to spread the word to other boroughs - although some are already aware that Lily is missing which is good. Have you been in touch with the local newspapers in other boroughs? If not I can do that.
Colin
Thanks Riverlady, we are put more posters up Hanworth end yesterday and some local parksLast edited: 2014-01-28 18:53:36 by Colin

My mum is local and lives by park walks daily so locals are on lookout. Now a while back a black Lab Alfie went missing in Whitton…..http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=33808#.UslFJv2whz8 eventually turned up on gumtree.
MJ
Alex there is a large vet practice there. Might be worth asking them to put up a poster in their waiting room? There is also a dog friendly pub near Windsor Great Park and not far from Englefield Green. The Fox and hound I think....
Colin
Also notified Runnymeade dog warden of reported sighting in Englefield Green
Colin
Went to check it out, no luck but pt up some posters just in case and spoke to the Sun Pub (cycle Hire) owner who was very helpfull and said he would put a poster upin the pub. Popped into Old Windsor Battersea on the way back and then walked the length of Crane park to Hanworth and back, replaced some posters which had been removed? at the Hanworth end. More posteringleafletting later
MJ
Not too far from Old Windsor Battersea....
Colin
Black labrador seen running free in Englefield green area in the Rugby fields near the Sun Pub the last two nights. Please can people in the area keep a look out.
JIM
have you tried putting posters up in Whitton high street too.
MJ
Could she have got herself locked in someone's garden in the Squires area? It might be worth dropping flyers, door to door, for people to be aware, and to nearby schools. People will be returning home or back to school over the next 3 days. May be some new leads then???
Julie Dogs
Dropped off posters at pet shop in Stanley Road & shops in Staines Road. Walked the Crane Park route from Meadway up to and around the circuit where the river splits and put up more laminated posters. Email from Mogden Works - no dog or collar found so that's good news. Trafalgar School is re-tweeting my tweets so hopefully many parents will already be aware.Last edited: 2014-01-04 14:03:52 by Julie Dogs

Went to Squires before dawn this morning just in case, walked around the area calling and putting up more posters, nothing but rain, met some helpfull dog walkers, Fullwell Golf course also walked today by friends no joy. Crane Park tomorrow.

Hello Julie and Dogwalker. Many thanks for kind continued support. We have already put posters up at the Hanworth Crem end of the Crane Walk, plus the entrances to the housing estates where you walk back up to Twickenham with the River Crane on your left. We have also put posters up at Hanworth Air Park, Hounslow Heath and Bedfont Lakes. I must admit that we have not gone as far down the Crane as North Feltham trading Estate. Our cat is now missing Lily too.
Julie Dogs
Good you are now offering a reward for her SAFE RETURN. I will print off the updated poster and laminate and put up with wire, as I noticed some of the ones which were stuck with tape had fallen off yesterday.
I will add the info re. reward to my tweets. Has anyone yet put posters up where Dogwalker suggests? Also worth telling the RTT there is a reward - I and another NHW Co-ordinator have written letters which we hope they will print in Friday's issue. I'm so upset for you and your family and do hope Lily an be safely found soon and she can open her presents.

Hello there,I wondered if you had tried the other part of the Crane River, the part that goes under the A316,it goes behind a housing estate and other houses, and further on close to houses, and comes under the A314 Hounslow road at the South West Middlesex crematorium, through its grounds into the Hounslow Heath Nature Reserve, under the A315,near the North Feltham Trading Estate,to Cranford Park.I know that it is upstream, but its worth a try.Hoping that you get some positive news soon.

or request me as a friend?
Colin
Thanks Sarah, I don't seem to be able to view the post, any chance you could copy the picture and past in here or send me a text message of it?
Sarah
Probably not your Lily, but thought I would link this across to you as this one seems to have a greying muzzle. However, I note yours is microchipped and if handed in, this should register. Just occasionally they don't so linking you with this one anyway - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=456015974502471&set=gm.559904254103547&type=1&theater

Her presents are still waiting for her under the tree
Colin
Don't know whats carved in the bench, but its the second footbridge from meadway. Have updated posting to include reward. parks in Feltham & Hounslow have been postered. Walked mutiple parks again yesterday spoke to a few dog owners. lots of Black Labs in Bushy Park. Not giving up.
Julie Dogs
Alex - are you referring to the carved fox bench? I've been looking every day in Bushy Park and Central Twickenham & constantly tweeting & emailing local community groups so literally thousands of people know she is missing. Am also looking on sites such as Gumtree- what about listing her as missing in the Labradors for sale section with the poster? Also has word spread to Feltham / Hounslow / Isleworth? Can readers living in these areas kindly tweet to their followers and if they have the equivalents of twitter sites such as @TwickOnline / @twickerati etc?
Will laminate some more posters and try to come up this afternoon.
You're doing a fantastic job trying to find her - keep your spirits up. Last edited: 2013-12-31 14:08:00 by Julie Dogs
Colin
Cathy, thanks for the thought but it was our friends dog who is like a sister to her, and she was walking with us and helped us search afterwards. Been to Crane again lunchtime today and a number of the other local parks to keep looking and hoping.
Cathy Cooper
Alex, you mentioned that Lily was running around with another dog before you lost sight of her. Was this a dog known to you? If not can you remember what the dog looked like and did you see the owner of it? This person may have seen where she went.
Colin
Lily was last seen by the three footbridges and carved bench, there are two posters there. We always park in Meadway and have leafleted some roads immediately next to the park. Been there again this morning as its now been one week, still no sign. Thank you for adding details to the Force page and please ask everyone to keep looking.
MJ
Alex, where exactly did you last see Lily? Just before the end of Crane Park, before crossing the Medway into Kneller Gardens? and where were you parked? Did you always park there? Did you do any door to door in the area?
The link to her DogLost page is now on the FORCE facebook page.
Sonia
I saw your post via a Facebook share.

I just wanted to add (and you are probably doing this already), that it might be worth stopping by local Police Stations, and also staying in touch with Battersea at old Windsor and London. The reason why I say this, is recently a friend's dog ran off. He was handed in to the local police. She went there, they said no the dog wasn't with them, on all 3 of her personal callbacks there - when it turned out that he was actually in the interview room at the station she was at, (being to big for the kennels!), awaiting collection to be taken to Battersea! She was told this on her 4th visit. You could also try emailing Willet House Vets in Staines as they have several branches all over the place, and putting a Post on Gumtree London in lost and found (if you haven't already). You could also try Pets At Home in Feltham and in Brentford too, in case she's tried to make her way back. You could also contact RSPCA hospital in Putney, and the RSPCA Vet in Southall to poster up too. I know some local takeaways in Feltham will stick a lost dog poster up now and again for you. - I'm just thinking that these are places where she might have ended up.

You could also try the surrounding areas such as Feltham Station, and Twickenham Station - two busy places with a lot of foot fall. You never know who might have seen something helpful.

Dusk and Dawn are the times your voice carries furthest too. It's due to the air pressures, so it's worth getting out there and shouting and treat bag or food bag rattling - she might still be hiding out somewhere.

I am sorry to add the next bit - but I feel I ought to, as sometimes its just better knowing things. I am still haunted every day by the memories of my stolen pony from years ago, as if only I knew what had happened to her, I could find some peace with my pony's absence. Anyway - I hope that doesn't offend or upset as it isn't meant to. I am really sorry if it has......

Have you spoken to the River Authorities? - just in case...I don't want to darken your spirits - but it might help. They might have fished her out and taken her to a vet, or know something else about her.

And on a grimmer note - it might also be worth checking with the local council environmental agency who collect animals who have passed on our roadsides.

I am praying hard for you, your family, and your Lily, and keeping you all in my thoughts.

(((((Hugs)))))
Colin
Walked many local parks today with good friends doing the same at other parks, put up more posters, spoke to many other dog walkers still no news but hoping she will come back to us.
Colin
Hi Annick Be very gratefull if you could check it, Lily, did wear quite a large collarand she may have been taken/snatched so could have ended up anywhere. There should be a bone shape tag on it. Thanks so much.
Annick
Hi - I saw a collar similar to hers, red leather with bones, in Dulwich Woods this morning. It looked a bit big for a Lab's and I know it's a bit far from where she went missing, but just wanted to mention it in case you would like to investigate. I can go back tomorrow and try to find the collar again if it helps.
DebbyM
shared again personal and business, Has been shared in our FB group for local residents and there is already a poster up at the entrance to the park by our house. Keeping our eyes and ears open when we are out walking every day. Hope there is news soon {{hugs}}
Julie Dogs
Just back from Moormead Park (central Twickenham) - negative. Put up poster (saw one already there which I tried to re-fix with a spare poo bag!). Was able to see stretches of the River Crane. The river is much calmer and shallower here which is good, although there is still a flow, it's not so intense as further up stream. If Lily was carried down river this far, there are a few places she could have scrambled out onto, although the banks are still very high and she would have come out into gardens. I put up a poster in Lancaster Place (off Cole Park Road) as these houses back directly onto the River Crane.

Tweets are being re-tweeted by @QuinsRugbyUnion too. Will keep tweeting.

Loads of people in Whitton / Heathfield area are spreading the word and looking too.
MJ
That's great Julie! There will also be a lot of smells of food which could help...:-)))
Julie Dogs
Yes MJ have been Tweeting pretty constantly and asking local rugby fans to spread the word. Good that the area around the Crane / Kneller will be busy today.

Put up a poster by Clapperstyle entrance to Bushy Park (by NPL) today as entrance used by many. Have also laminated more and putting up around Moormead River Crane area shortly.

Rugby on in Twickenham today. Julie could your twitting extend to rugby fans? A lot of them use Crane Park/Kneller Gardens. Posters might be useful in shops and pubs that will serve all these people walking through Twickenham today.....
Julie Dogs
I have contacted the Friends of River Crane (FORCE) and going to cover the stretches I can see from Twickenham to St Margaret's. Many parts of this river are not accessible so am hoping FORCE may be able to advise. I will also contact Richmond Council re. CCTV & Parks Dept.

Had email from NHW Co-ordinator and word has certainly spread in Whitton & Heathfield so lots of people out looking. Am continuing to constantly tweet.

Let's hope today brings some positive news for Alex and his family
MJ
Alex, dogs can find their way home in some amazing ways. I am a professional dog walker and a colleague of mine was walking a dog in Hounslow when she ran away. She made her way back home to Strawberry Hill (Twickenham), crossing roads and parks, using alleyways. She had never been to that park from her house on foot. A rescue dog, adopted a few weeks ago, escaped from her new home in Addlestone and found her way back to her fosterer in Weybridge. She had never walked the distance. So it can happen.....
Colin
Julie, you've done things we haven't thought of. A wholehearted thankyou from all of the family just doesn't cut it but we are so appreciative of what you're doing.

Myself & my brother postered around Marble Hill today, and a friend of ours has said he postered bushy park already but if you feel up to it we'd be more than grateful of the help.

MJ; It's possible she could have tried to make her way back to Sunbury/Feltham area where we live about 5/6 miles away. But as we drove down via the A316 it's unlikely.Last edited: 2013-12-27 17:12:34 by Colin
MJ
could Lily have tried to go home?
Julie Dogs
I've been constantly tweeting and spreading the word through the Police Liaison Groups / Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators / Dog Watch Groups and in particular, Whitton & Heathfield and Witton Network.
This morning I and my dog walked the stretch from Crane Park playing fields up to Kneller Gardens and along the sections of walkable Northumberland River (which is the stretch peeling off to the left in Kneller Gardens) down to where it goes under the A316. I also put up posters I'd laminated and one under Percy Chapmans in Heath Road (pet shop / garden shop). I also contacted Medivet and gather Alex had been in touch.

Could Lily have tried to make her way home? I will put up posters in Bushy Park tomorrow if you think it may help.

I feel so desperately sad for Alex and his family and am praying for Lily's safe return.

Please let me know if there is anywhere else I can help search as I know Twickenham area very well. In the meantime, I will keep tweeting / emailing and spreading the word.Last edited: 2013-12-28 12:19:26 by Julie Dogs
MJ
Alex do you live locally? do you walk to the park?
Colin
We aren't sure of whether she ran or if she went into the river. She was there very close to the river one second, looked away and she was gone the next. No sign. She could have been snatched by someone or jumped in the water. Allotments have been checked from outside as they are locked up and no sign.

Local Wardens have been contacted.
MJ
has the local warden been contacted?
Cathy Cooper
HI Alex, did you see Lily jump into the river or did she just run off and you think maybe she did? There are allotments on the other side of Crane from Kneller Gardens. Have you checked there? Good Luck with your search.
Crystal Moon
Poor girl :( Flooded/swollen rivers are so dangerous - leads and/or longlines folks please. So simple but can save so much heart-ache.
I don't know the area at all. Could you have a look at this article about the river and let us know any points she may have been able to get herself out of the water. If she's washed away could you estimate where she may have gone? If it's out of the usual postcode search area maybe the guys on the team would send out email alerts to people in the relevant area/s.

Good luck Lily, hope you're found safe soon.
