BC and I were at Pembroke show with posters and leaflets, highlighting various missing dogs in Wales. We met up with Maryanne and had a long discussion. We must bear in mind that Spot could turn up anywhere, but having heard about the pattern of various sightings of him running loose in Pembrokeshire from the time he went missing up to last August, I think there is a fair chance that he is living feral in one particular area just as the collie x dog Teddy has been doing in Herts. I will be working on that assumption, but if someone finds him somewhere else and gets him home we will be delighted to be proved wrong! Maryanne, BC and I will be doing some work with maps to see if we can plot his territory.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thankyou jayne for putting another long-time missing dog on the first page ( it was good to see tara staffy on front again) it would be brilliant if it could be a regular thing as a lot of new people would have registered as helpers since then and it might jog somebodys memory, I have been following spot and can't beleive such a distinctive dog could vanish , hope you don't mind me using spots page but could people also look out for remy 28/11/03... molly 22/11/04 and alfie and jojo 7/4/05 these owners are desperatly still hoping to be reunited. perhaps there could be a different dog from long time back be featured every month. thanks againLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spot's owners - in an attempt to raise spirits wanted to tell you of a story in my local news (Edinburgh) today. A little schnauzer named Molly went missing from her home in June last year - she was chipped and had id on etc but her family, despite searching for months never found any trace of her. Until the weekend, when she was picked up by a dog warden who found her walking the streets in an area not very far from where the family stay. Totally fine although a bit matted as her hair hadn't been cut. She had been well fed and its thought that she was being looked after by an elderly couple who kept feeding her. So, a year later, little Mollie is now back home with her extremely overjoyed family! The moral of the story - never, ever give up! Spot is out there somewhere and with everyone's help I'm sure he's going to be home soon xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry that Spot hasn't been found yet where are you handsome man. I have added Spot's details to my forum Find Missing Dogs (http://findmissingdogs.proboards67.com/index.cgi). If Spot was 5/6 years old when he went missing he must be now 9/10 years old, is this right?. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Val from Valgrays border collie rescue put up Posters of Spot at the supa dogs week, she has emailed me to say that many people there spoke to her saying he looks like a dog they had seen in the WEST COUNTRY, which ties up with the sighting i had at Chippenham Agility Show in 2004, i will send spots poster to everyone on the Agilitynet secretary link with a show being held this year. If theres anyone in the westcountry who knows any rescue centres(well known or obscure) in that area please let me know many thanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry, I should have made it clear when I posted that we know the collie jazzthedestroyer met was definitely not Nilla. My posting was aimed at helpers in general.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Owl, this dog definately had the enlongated mark on his head, which appeared to look like a spot when looking at him head on, the owners were not aware of valgrays border collie rescue, so gave them all the numbers, and they are going to check with them, to see if valgrays recall having him, they are also going to come to pembroke show, and we are going to poster all the agility cars there, as the show is near where he went missing. Obviously there is a chance it wasnt spot, but also a chance it was, so will follow up by doing the posters at pembroke.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a collie called Nilla who was adopted from rescue a couple of years ago and who is well known around the agility scene. Nilla has a similar white face to Spot, and the same white ears with black border but WITHOUT the black spot on the head. Please will anyone looking out for Spot please take a look at all the pictures on Spot's own site at http://www.search4spot.co.uk/ and familiarise themselves with him so they don't get confused. Please also if crossposting Spot's details include the link to his own site.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Didnt want to post anythng until id spoken to owners, (have now spoken to them),but 99% sure this dog was at Chippenham Agility show September 2004, the dog was with a lady who said she had just got him from a rescue centre (valgrays i believe), the dog wasnt working at the show but the lady was competing with another dog, we talked to her because the dog was so distinctive, with the white face and black spot on his head, if it wasnt the dog it was his double, come on agility crew, get your thinking caps on!!!! Sorry this information is so late, but only just got involved with doglost, and alarm bells rang as soon as i saw him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
