UPDATE:

Nina Blackburn

NOW I AM SOBER: Well, what can I possibly say about yesterday? What an AMAZING result!! We expected a positive outcome but what happened yesterday was a reality only in our wildest dreams.

We had stated "All domestic animals" in the petition but believed we would have a separate battle to actually see Cats included. This is such a milestone to have the mandate extended to Cats, and the first time Cats have been afforded any rights on any road.

It was our intention to lobby the councils after the Highways, so, when this was given to us I felt the emotion lift in the room and have no idea how any of us remained in our seats.

I am sure that last nights video posted of me in an intoxicated state shows how I feel about these two points. (I was only that drunk as people kept forgetting to put lemonade in my Vodka, definitely not my fault and I went to great pains to make sure that the Taxi driver understood that).

I have to admit that last night each of us found ourselves on yet another emotional roller coaster. We had no idea whether to laugh or cry, so, we simply did both in to the early hours of the morning.

To be in that room yesterday was the most amazing experience of my life, made all the more memorable, as the comments made by the MP's who attended were clearly genuine. Each one of them periodically made eye contact with us to reassure us that we were heading for a fantastic outcome. Even the couple who were not wearing Harvey's Army wristbands.

We are all aware of the amount of hard work put in to this by Harvey's Army, and all the support given to us by other groups, organisations, publications and charities.
However, I must take my hat off to the John Hayes, Derek Twigg and Natascha Engle. They were amazing and we have had support from Derek Twigg and Natascha Engle from the second they became aware of Harvey's Law. The three of them are now my new Santa's and this group owes them our thanks. They certainly have mine as does everyone else involved.

Their hospitality continued after the debate and we were given a tour of Westminster and taken to the main chamber.

Anyway, all that is left for me to say is once again THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved in this campaign, I have never been more proud of anything than I am this group---WE DID IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I heard a tiny bit of this debate on radio 4 late last night. Everyone clapped when the minister said that the Highways Agency now had to be more proactive to inform owners of deceased dogs. It was wonderful to here. I am sure it is not a battle Harvey s family and Nikki ever wanted to have to take on, but you have done a marvellous job. Those of us who love our dogs are indebted to you all who have been involved with this. Thank you. Now rest in peace Harvey and Jester.

HARVEY's ARMY petition was heard in WESTMINSTER today and great result achieved. WELL DONE to everyone for all the hard work put in and everyone who has supported them.

HARVEY lives on to help other owners who may find themselves in the same position as his owners JUDE and SHAUN.

Thinking of you today HARVEY you are one famous boy. xxx

Also thinking of JESTER (ROTTIE whose owner NIKKI started a campaign in 2005 after authorities incinerated JESTER's body within an hour of picking up him up - he was also MICROCHIPPED and had a collar on with ID).

Harvey's owners have now received a report back from the Highways Agency. There is still not 100% confirmation from the report. The report states "possibly poodle type" but due to the timings and location Harvey's owners are convinced that the dog that was killed was Harvey. They have therefore requested that Harvey's Doglost status now be changed and moved over to Rainbow Bridge. There are still many unanswered questions. There are also changes needing to be made within the Highways Agency so that this does not happen again to any other owner of a missing dog. The not knowing for sure is the worst thing...
I'm so sorry Harvey.... I tried my best for you little man. xx

Nobody deserves a happy ending more. Sorry I know this is for reporting sightings etc and I don't want to clog this up with messages of support but the dedication shown to this search has been incredible. Keeping everything crossed for some good news x
Rileys Mum
At the owners request i have moved back to LOST.. nothing has been confirmed and Harvey's owners wish for the Rainbow Bridge status to be held off until they have official confirmation.

I am desperately saddened to hear your sad news. I'm still praying for a miracle for you. Harvey was obviously very much loved. Take comfort that you made his life so happy and fun. Saying a prayer for you all and for Harvey xx
Rileys Mum
No, it is still not confirmed so i'm confused with the Rainbow Bridge status?
I have put a request into the Highways for a full report and am waiting on a reply from the company who removed the dog's body so i can get info on the dog that was collected. Nothing can be confirmed without this info...

treesrgreen09
Am inclined to agree with you,so many questions? If it was Harvey, then WHY has it taken so long? Will go along with what Adele said, and wait till Monday.xx
Deb4gsd
this is very sad and tragic if this is Harvey, but surely if he was found as stated on the night he disappeared, then surely he would still have a tag on his collar and still be wearing his bandana and harness. They wont have come off in the short time he was missing. Also why was he not checked for a microchip? hoping this is a case of mistaken identity/dog, altho sadly some poor dog was involved.
Rileys Mum
Although there is "some" evidence to suggest that this could be Harvey (a red item on the dog plus location and time) this has not yet been officially confirmed. The message was received via a facebook message on a page which is controlled by a 3rd party. By the time the message was sent the Highways were closed and so this cannot be confirmed until Harveys owners are able to speak directly to them. Obviously this is a very distressing time for Harveys owners but i ask that we please wait for this to be confirmed by the Highways Agency themselves.
Thank you x
Magnscruff
Treesrgreen, so very sorry. Here is the message from Jude herself on her own Facebook profile " R.I.P My boy. You gave us the best 30 months of our lives." It is genuine unfortunately... It's truly heart breaking after all this time. If only the Highways Agency had said something back in November but they didn't. I'm not sure what has prompted them to come forward today with this info but they have :-(
treesrgreen09
Please say this is a total mistake,I really feel sick in my stomach wondering.I know everyone will be busy trying to verify the message, but if possible please let me know tonight.God knows what Shaun and Judith must be going through,if it is genuine,I am devastated for them, and all involved xxxx

This notice is on 'Find Harvey' Facebook page :-(

""
******** PLEASE READ ********

We have just had some devastating news from a lady who works for the Highways Agency.

I have removed any personal details but the gist of the message is as follows:

On 23rd November, at 22:21hrs, my colleague and I were sent to check on reports of an animal in the carriageway on the M62, between junctions 7 and 8. Unfortunately upon our arrival we discovered that a dog had been hit and sadly hadn’t survived. When we retrieved it we noted that it appeared to be a poodle type breed. There was a red collar, but I couldn’t locate a name tag.

We still have to cross check a few details but it does look certain at this point.

Really sorry to have to pass on this news.""

Have there been any further sightings or news on Harvey. It's been a while since the possible sightings near Gemini/Warrington.I have been back and put more posters up 19/2 and today searched up and down areas in Rainhill, and field tracks.Although no sign of him I did manage to poster some places, just to keep Harvey at the front of peoples minds. Thanks Hazel for that,I usually post comments here as not to good on F/B or Twitter.Bit of a novice yet.x

Posters now up along lower section of Sankey Vall/Park (off Sankey Way)Water Ways, thru to Bewsey Bridge,& Old Hall Rd.Is there any news on Harvey?Have been checking on/off places East side & West side.Maybe he is on the move, and start back tracking. Will keep looking anyway. One of the people I spoke to about Harvey has a friend who is a dog walker,he uses the walk along near Gemini and along Sankey Valley walks, and will pass on some posters I gave to her.:)Last edited: 2014-02-16 11:04:10 by treesrgreen09
treesrgreen09
WOW what a huge help these people are,am sure it will give every one the incentive to keep pushing,to find little Harvey.Have been putting more posters on the walks Sankey Vall/Park,from Old Alder Lane right down to Tenby Close WA5. Will carry on tomorrow, and move into Sankey Vall/Park itself.Thank you Adele for the up dates, and fingers crossed with all the searches going on.xx
Rileys Mum
Hi, no further sightings but daily searches are still on going around the Gemini area and we now have cctv being monitored in that area too by security people.
treesrgreen09 Yes there are ways of travelling from east to west, these areas are being monitored. This is the frustrating thing, due to the area and the fact that it is all interlinked at places with streams and underpasses, aswell as the Sankey Valley trail, any dog could be travelling around without even being spotted. Thanks for all you are doing to help :)

A massive thanks today to E-Puff. They distribute electronic cigarette kits and have agreed to put a Harvey leaflet in every package they send out, around 150 per day being posted all over the UK. That's 750 per week! Absolutely fantastic as it gets the message out far and wide. This is a wonderful and generous gesture and we can't thank them enough.
Also, big thanks to Kenneth Howley Transport who are now helping in the 'Find Harvey' campaign! They are hoping to spread the word with 2 posters in each wagon, and hopefully get some feedback or leads as to where Harvey is. Kenneth Howley are based in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Bumping due to the massive publicity push from these companies. Last edited: 2014-02-14 10:55:17 by Rileys Mum

Hi,have been down St Davids Drive WA5 and put posters all over that part of Sankey Vall/Park,down towards Dallam. On way back checked the construction site West side The Boulevard. Also Eastside Brakes and Hermes,at the front (where the M62)grass verge drops down to the B&H road,I have seen a horse grazing,is there a gully or pathway? The far end looks blocked off,the other is the slip rd exit, but have seen the horse few times.Could there be away for Harvey to travel east to west?Just thought would mention it.Good Luck to everyone searching.:)xx Last edited: 2014-02-13 06:54:11 by treesrgreen09

Ok Shaun this dog was defiantly not a schnauzer he was a bit bigger than my Lakeland terrier. He had a curly poodle coat but was only a youngster
treesrgreen09
Adele,I searched at dawn both M&S/Ikea car parks,(easier as empty)the security man now has poster.Drove down full length in front of Brakes/Hermes.Searched Construct/site,(binoculars)At Sankey Val/park cyclists club took posters(none knew about Harvey)now pass the info along.Another guy, turned out to be ex-police,motor cyclist, took posters/also in a gun dog club,up/down the areas. At Dream along M62East and Sutton Manor, more people made aware and will keep a look out.Have been thru that one Adele with my dog,but someone said the old Runcorn Gap,which runs under Finger House lane, then out across fields?Good Luck to every one out searching.xx
Shaun Robertson
Thanks Chris. They are known as "Phantom" markings, they are not very common at all but if you do a Google image search for "phantom poodle" you will see pics of others with similar markings to Harvey. There are toy, miniature and standard poodles with phantom markings. Also some schnauzers have similar marking patterns, we have had one false alarm that turned out to be a schnauzer. Thanks, Shaun
Chris
I can see Harvey is a miniature poodle but there was a dog with those markings on at a dog training class. It was his first visit 3 weeks ago. I was trying to figure if the dog in question was a poodle or a doodle as I have never seen a poodle marked like this. I asked the owner the age of the dog and was told 9 months old. The training class was not far from Rainhill. The dog was also a bit bigger that I would expect for a miniature poodle, just markings that made me think. The training class was called the dog barn and just off east lances road catch dale moss

No confirmed sightings but a black dog was seen up near to the Gemini area this afternoon. Today we done our usual weekend wide scale search and stake out and one of the Harvey hunters called in a possible sighting from the woodlands. The area was then thoroughly searched by several of us but no sign of Harvey or any other small black dog. There are plenty of food sources and plenty of hide away's around this area so another possibility that he could be around there. This is the 4th possible sighting in this area so fingers crossed more will be reported soon. A small team will be searching the area several times tomorrow.
treesrgreen09 the underpass in around the area of the Dream and takes you right under the M62 and out of the other side. x

Hi treesrgreen09. The Winwick/Gemini sightings along with the Burtonwood sightings are the WA5 areas. Also covers up to Westbrook, which is easily accessible from the Ikea /Gemini area. WA2 takes it a bit further in towards Orford area which is not too far from the Winwick area, just takes it a bit further in to the built up areas. x

Admin: Could somebody please send out alerts to WA2 and WA5? Possible sightings are in the WA2 area. WA5 is not far from the Stoops where we also had sightings reported. Thank you.
Rileys Mum
Hi Karenjrad, thank you so much for this. Yes we had reported sightings around that area and any help raising awareness would be fantastic. There are lots of fields interlinked around there making it easy to travel around un noticed. The more people aware the better. Thanks again :)

We also have some great publicity from Juice FM and Diamond Taxis. Diamond Taxis have been brilliant and have offered another £500 onto the reward money, this is offered on the condition that Harvey is found and returned home safe within a specified time. To hear the ad please follow this link:

Hi I work for the construction company that are building on the south side of Omega Warrington I have been alerted today by someone from GL Hearn as there has been a sighting around this area. I am a member and will get alerts from WN postcodes so wasn't aware of Harvey until now. I am in the process of printing off posters and getting them put around our site and could possibly get them put over onto Omega North side. I also travel to and from work over Junction 8 M62 through Burtonwood and will be quite happy to poster lamposts etc. As a matter of interest we have aerial photographs taken every month or so over the site which I will happily look through in more detail. Anything else I can do to help let me know.
Rileys Mum
Several people searched the area yesterday ad last night but no further sightings have been reported from anywhere :(
Bo, Harvey's owners live in Sheffield so are having to travel back and to for work. Obviously if they are needed urgently then they are driving back but other than that they are here Friday's to Sunday's and are often driving the campervan around to different locations where Harvey could be hiding. They spent 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year camping out in various fields with the van. Harvey has been on many a holiday in that campervan and so yes he will recognise it :)
Bo
Harvey will know the engine vibration of Shaun's car. I've known a few dogs that have been found after the owner has driven very slowly down the streets they were seen in the quiet hours and stopping every 50 yards with the engine running. The rescue dog around Formby that was loose for 3-4 weeks was found this way. his previous owner drove up to Formby and drove very slowly around where hed been seen occasionally. he bolted out of a side road straight to the car and many tears flowed by all. If Harvey has settled near the church, and he's mooching late night and early morning. Is it worth getting that vehicle down there to rumble around? My dogs can hear my car arriving and go bonkers from a fair way off. I'm sure you're all over it. Good luck. Last edited: 2014-02-04 07:12:36 by Bo

*****SIGHTING REPORT*****
Saturday 1st February at 2.30am (early hours). Lady travelling from Whiston Hospital along Warrington Road. Reached Loyola Hall/St Bart's Church in Rainhill when a "scruffy dog smaller than a border collie, greyish with matted fur" ran into the road. She stopped but the dog ran away quickly near the church. Dog also seemed to have a limp (hind leg). The area is being searched today and we have obtained permission to search Loyola Hall.

Thanks for letting me know PC worlds stance on this. I have emailed the CEO to tell him his staff need to be aware of the CAA regulations.
. Here is a link for the answer from the CAA with regards to the drone you speak of;
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/122704/response/300714/attach/3/20120802ReplyLetter.pdf
Rainhill is within an ATZ. Cut and paste the link.
I will leave it there as this thread is about finding Harvey and if you choose to believe the man in PC world, that's your choice. Xx
Timmy's Mummy
Bo The man in PC World said you don't need license or qualifications to fly the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 and it would be ideal for search & rescue for dogs. Please look at this Drone on the PC World website. x
Bo

Found a link for you ref the Daily Telegraph chap and the Qualification he would have required;

http://www.journalism.co.uk/news/a-look-inside-the-drone-journalism-lab/s2/a553812/

"They are legal in the UK but strictly regulated and require a qualification called the BNUC-S. As you can hear in this podcast interview, Thomas Hannen, senior innovations producer at the BBC Global Video Unit, and his colleague Owain Rich, also based in Global News at the BBC, have passed flight exams and are licensed to fly and film within very specific limits. The devices must go no higher that 400 feet and be within a radius of 500 metres and must not be flown near people."
Cath
I saw your ad in Tameside Advertiser - not able to help physically but am thinking about you all the time. I cannot imagine what it's like to lose your baby boy in this way. Good luck.
Bo
If you cut and paste on the link it would tell you that you need to apply as from Jan 2010 for drones at
20 kg and less and your pilot status on a case by case basis.

1) Applicable from 1 January 2010 for aircraft used for Aerial Work purposes or if flown within a congested area and/or close to people or property.

2) Equivalent pilot experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis during application for an operating permission.
To be fair, all aircraft operate below 165 feet for take off and landings and as I live down the road from Rainhill, there are quite a few aircraft that operate in that local area. With ref to height are you talking QFE or QNH?
Rileys Mum
Another FANTASTIC turn out today. Thank you all again for giving up your time to help us. It was a dry day but still cold when stood still for a few minutes. Hope all those doing bridge stake outs were wrapped up warm! Lots of lovely dogs joined us today too as well as children (inc mine) so we had a really good turn out and I know we literally brought the traffic to a stand still at least once.
Hope everybody is defrosting now and having a well deserved hot drink!
The turn out exceeded our expectations and due to this we were able to cover the whole of the M62 corridor between the Manor Farm pub Rainhill and Sankey Valley Brook, Warrington on foot, in cars and all the Bridges with binoculars plus other areas in Rainhill extensively but sadly no show :(

With regards to the Drone, we have had the offer to use one but as we are not sure which area to actually search this is not something that we have taken up. Then there are the rules and regs that have already been mentioned. It is literally like looking for a needle in a haystack as reported sightings are coming in after the actual event (and sometimes the areas vary but are usually linked by an underpass) and so by the time people get out there, nothing can be seen. Onwards and upwards.. the searches will continue :)
Timmy's Mummy
I have already checked this out. If the mass is less than 20kg, which this one is, as long as you are using it responsibly, like the Telegraph reporter, then its ok. Also, the height is very low so would not pose a danger to any aircraft. I'm going to get one and I am sure the rules & regs will come with it. Its a cheap option. Microlights wouldn't help. I am positive a Drone would find poor Harvey as he always seems to be in the same vicinity. xx P.S. When have you seen an aircraft below 165 foot? Last edited: 2014-02-02 19:50:40 by Timmy's Mummy
Bo
Without wanting to put a dampener on things there are rules and regs for this. The link is here;
http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1995&pageid=11185
I'm military aircrew and seen people get into a fair bit of trouble with this so please make sure you abide by the regulations. There's a lot of aircraft out there which will be very vulnerable if a collision happened.
A microlight pilot may be a simpler option in that they know where they can fly etc. Last edited: 2014-02-02 19:17:09 by Bo

I think these could be a major asset in searching over ground & yes a great idea having them available to lend out.I think this could be a way forward in helping in searches xx
Timmy's Mummy
Kinsally, we could all donate and buy a few and insure them and lend them out. Always remember to keep them charged so they don't drop from the sky. You could practise in your own garden. Please don't fly over my garden in summer though as I tend to garden in the nude and its not a pretty sight. On the telegraph web page you can see a Drone flying over Somerset filming the floods and its as clear as day, you could easily see a dog.
xx

Timmy's Mummy what a fantastic idea. This could help so many search over areas for their missing dogs. Well done for your suggestion I think it's wonderful xx

I have been thinking about Harvey and if he was my dog this is what I would do. Go to PC World and buy a Drone for £300, link it to my ipad and let it fly. There are 2 cameras on board and it can fly up to 165 feet. Its HD too. One person could control it whilst the other looks at the ipad screen. Make sure you charge it up before you go and take the charger with you. These Drones used to cost thousands. xxx

Good luck everybody today. Let me know how you get on. X

Good luck & fingers crossed with the search today. Wishing for dear Harvey to be found & back home with his family xx

ORGANISED SEARCH TODAY:
POSSIBLE SIGHTING YESTERDAY. A Harvey member reported a dog matching Harveys description sat in the fields alongside the train track in between Rainhill and Lea Green stations. There is an underpass where he (or any dog) could travel between Rainhill and Sutton Manor area if needed so this IS possible. Many people were out yesterday searching several areas and today a bigger search team will be out. Meeting point is the Manor Farm pub, Mill lane Rainhill, meeting between 2pm and 2.30. Some people are doing quiet stake outs from their cars, others are searching on foot. Bumping due to sightings.

Nothing new treesgreen09 unfortunately, it is extremely frustrating we seem to get a spate of possible sightings and then nothing for a few days. Warrington area is also being leafleted due to the sightings around there last week. Thanks, Shaun

Hi Adele,is the Audi garage "Jardine Motor Group"near to M&S,which is on the West side of M62,but we are to search opposite them on the East side of M62?where I was yesterday.Just needed to make sure. Thanks :)
Rileys Mum
We have been focusing on the East side due to possible sightings, this side has been covered with feeding stations but still no luck. CCTV from the building site (again on the East side) are also on high alert. Farmers are also aware and are keeping a look out.
The Audi garage now have a poster but there was no sightings this afternoon when people went up there to look.
treesrgreen09
Drove along M62 J7 to J9,down Delph Lane,to Mill Lane scrap yard who's putting a poster up.Searched along wooded area between M62 East side and farmers fields, posters up,and along Sankey Valley Way.Any luck on dawn/dusk feeding site?Is the construction site on East or West side of M62?Thanks.

We have a contact who works in the Audi garage so they are being informed now. Also have a "Harvey hunter" up there in her car now checking the area. Fingers crossed for good news!

Solid sightings currently under investigation:

Mon 20/1 7.50 am. Definitely a black poodle alone in farmland, past Junction 8 M62 Eastbound, opposite side to M&S

Thur 24/1 9.15 am. Black dog meeting Harvey's description seen twice in overgrown foliage around centre of Rainhill Stoops roundabout

Fri 25/1 Definitely a black poodle, seen alone on construction site near Gemini off M62. Contractors on site all now aware and on the lookout

Tues 28/1 M62 Rocket junction. Sighting of a dog meeting Harvey's description seen with 4 men. Local businesses visited and being leafleted.

Tues 28/1 A sighting of a little black dog resembling Harvey, dirty, wet and apparently unaccompanied, near to Huyton Lane on the far side of Prescot. Being investigated.

Thanks for everybody's help and support
Shaun Robertson
This morning's sighting concerned an accusation of suspect activity by staff at a business premises who were seen with a dog meeting Harvey's description. There were genuine reasons for keeping this sighting quiet until it had been properly investigated. That's why Jude and I decided to keep it off the page, until we had spoken to the staff at the premises. It would not have been fair on the staff working there to have the finger of suspicion pointed in their direction, until we had the full picture.

A comment appeared on Harvey's facebook page today that he had been spotted by a Diamond Taxi driver earlier this morning. The post was swiftly removed from the page! I then posted on the page asking were the post had gone and that was deleted. I am backing away from the search for Harvey now as I believe too many people/admins are involved. The page is far too active, especially considering there haven't been any solid sightings for over 7 weeks. Will spend my time concentrating on people who want/need help now :(Last edited: 2014-01-28 16:56:00 by MojoPeanut

Thank you for all the information, have collected some posters of Harvey from Hayes butchers. If anyone needs a rest on the Dawn/Dusk watch please let me know. Will carry on with the posters, let me know if any area in particular.
Rileys Mum
Hi treesrgreen09, apologies again for the delay in replying. Posters are available to collect from the Age Concern shop in Prescot, or from the Hayes Butchers in Rainhill village if you could get to either of those? If not and you would like some posting out to you, please feel free to contact me on 07542 360407 and i can get your postage address.
We have had reported sightings along the fields of the M62 near to Burtonwood, near where the construction site is and the Hermes and Brakes depots. Nothing confirmed as of yet but yesterday myself and one of the helpers went and had a good look around all the quiet back roads, the wooded areas and the farmers fields. We set up a new feeding station and now the area is being monitored at dawn and dusk. As i say, not confirmed but obviously we want to follow up on everything until we know more.
Leafleting and postering is still on going in as many areas as possible.. the further the better :) Thank you again for all you are doing to help!

We have had recent reports of a "small dog" running loose around the fields near to Junction 8 of the M62 at Burtonwood, opposite M&S and Ikea. The person reporting is certain that the dog was a small poodle. Lots of leafleting being done around there now and we now also have permission to hand out leaflets in Pets At Home stores which we started yesterday.. THANK YOU PETS AT HOME!

Hi treesrgreen09. Yes we are now spreading further afield. Hough Green/Widnes/Runcorn on that side.. or Newton le Willows/Leigh/Wigan/ Billinge... or Lingley Green into Great Sankey and eventually spreading up towards Warington. Depends on which area is easiest and most accessible to you? Anywhere is a great help thank you.

Is there any particular area you would like me to poster?Dont mind if its out of the usual areas that have been covered.Do you think spread out past all those, and then poster back towards them. Please let me know.Thanks.

Thank you so much WinsMum, that's a great help. Really need to spread the word as far as possible.
Harvey is in the Merseymart for Rainhill area today, no link sadly but a great article with pic, full page spread. Hope to get some positive calls as a result of this.
There is also a Youtube link which people can share to spread the word.. be warned, you WILL need tissues! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEiR3QhcJGE
People are also creating "Lampnotes" which is another great way to spread the word: https://lampnote.com/notices/gb/prescot-merseyside-help-to-find-harvey
WinsMum
We have put posters up around Widnes area and also in local shops and workplaces today, hoping for some news on sightings soon.
Rileys Mum
Thank you to all who made it yesterday to the big meet at Taylor park. The "party in the park" was also a way of celebrating Harvey's owners who are now engaged after 20 years. We had a great article covered in the Prescot Online about it last week http://prescotonline.co.uk/index.php/2014/01/06/find-harvey-couple-plan-a-wedding-with-wellies/
Many who attended brought donations for the DogsTrust and PDSA (at Harvey's owners request) rather than engagement gifts. Thank you to the DOGS TRUST & PDSA for attending and for helping us to spread the word about Harvey. All we need now is for the guest of honour to come home so that the wedding can go ahead! Come on Harvey!!
Today i have been and gave leaflets to the people setting up for the circus on Sherdley park, also spoken to several dog walkers and general walkers in the area and gave them leaflets too. Still trying to spread the word as far as possible.
Thank you Springer Sharon. No matter where you are, please please continue to share Harvey's details... you just never know, he could be anywhere! x

A good idea BlackLab but as there are people who are not on social net working, myself included, maybe there should be immediate postings on this forum page also, though I do realise how busy Dog Lost team must be.I have joined to receive alerts (Mobile number etc)In these areas I could be there in minutes,to follow Harveys direction, and ring appropriate people to come down.Could you give me a reply on this please. Thanks x

I understand that Harvey is extremely timid but hasn't the time come now when it would be worth putting sightings on Twitter immediately ?
treesrgreen09
Thank you for the advice on how to approach Harvey.Spent all my childhood in Burtonwood, and now live Clockface,5mins from Dream,Sutton Heath. Will look around Saturday, and help to poster on Sunday, with every one else.

Thank you Jan. We have had a fantastic letter sent into the St Helens star by one of Harvey's Army!
http://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/yoursay/letters/10925648.Harvey___s_Army_are_united_in_their_mission_to_find_him/

Thank you to the Star for printing this!
Articles have also gone into the Runcorn and Widnes weekly today which is fab. A call has come in as a result of the media coverage in Widnes stating that Harvey was seen a few weeks back running along the hard shoulder of the M62 (closer to the Rainhill end than the Burtonwood junction).. spotted by a driver who could not stop as he was on the motorway. Harvey could have back tracked towards the stoops/Rainhill or could have ventured off towards the Dream area/ Sutton manor or even Burtonwood. Sutton Heath area and Sherdley area are being leafleted asap and Burtonwood will now be focused on too. Hopefully more calls will come in as a result of this weeks media coverage.
We are advising searchers not to shout Harvey's name due to sightings suggesting that he is running scared... but if anybody is lucky enough to spot him, they should crouch down low (side on) with NO eye contact and speak softly and calmly while dropping treats on the floor.

Adele, just to add on my previous comment, about a megaphone.I realise Harvey is timid but thought maybe if he could hear his mum or dad he may come out of hiding. As yet there isnt enough positive sightings. The article in the Star was heart rending.Come on Harvey's Army,x

Hi Adele,Went Widnes yesterday,8/1/2014.Not many posters up.I
dont have a printer but will come Sunday, and collect (If some one has spares)Also searched Rainhill fields behind cricket club again.Do you think a megaphone (If anyone has one)in a car, with large posters for contact numbers etc, would alert more people over a wider area?Dont know if any legal issues, but if none, would it be worth trying.See you all Sunday.Marie

Sadly the Stafford Rd sighting turned out to be a false alarm. Harvey's ownbers have spoken to the owner of a Shnauzer who told them that her dog had escaped that morning around the same time (and has escaped before but never goes too far) so sadly this was not Harvey but just a look a like.
Reported possible sightings from around the Sutton Heath rd area from early december so we are now leafleting this area.
Other areas now being leafleted are Widnes and Page Moss after another possible sighting in Page Moss.. This again could be a similar looking dog but postering will continue until we have confirmation or have ruled this dog out as not being Harvey.
Harveys army is meeting THIS SUNDAY at Taylor Park St Helens at 11AM-1PM to discuss and decide the next move. If you would like to join then please come along to the cafe.
The original sighting areas are still being checked regularly (Cricket club/elton head road fields/ St James road Rainhill etc.

There are 2 ads gone into the St Helens star today which stand out quite well in the missing pets section as they are next to each other :)
A short story is due to go into the Widnes & Runcorn weekly as well as the Merseymart covering Rainhill.

UPDATE:
Another lady has said she saw harvey in this area this morning. She was 100 percent certain.
SEARCHES ARE STILL ON GOING IN THIS AREA.

POSSIBLE SIGHING THIS MORNING:
Lady called after seeing a "small grey dog" near Taylor park St Helens, the dog was near a man but did not appear to be with him. Dog was wearing a blue collar and ran in the direction of Stafford road near the Spar shop. People have been to the area this morning and searched all nearby roads but no news so far.
Lots of leafleting is still needed in surrounding areas. Cronton has now been covered door to door as has Sutton Manor, the Lickers Lane estate and more or less all of Rainhill.
We have contacted Groomers in L35 and are currently working through a list of Groomers & Vets in surrounding areas (WA9, WA10 and have done some WA5) and sending them all info/posters of Harvey. Adele x

Hi there, my boyfriend had a possible sighting of Harvey this morning at 7 am on running across st James road in Prescot near the sweet shop coming from old lane. The dog was alone and there was nobody else about & by the time he'd turned the car around the dog had vanished. Jude and Shaun are in the area for the weekend and will be staying over in their campervan.

Lots of Harvey Hunter's are continuing to do searches in the area and doing more house to house postering widening the areas.

The community support has been ongoing and the support has been fantastic. So much has been done to help find Harvey and there are more big banners being put up.

THANK YOU to each and every person and business for being so helpful.

HARVEY means so much to Jude and Shaun who are fantastic owners and so deserve to get their boy home. Wishing them lots of luck and rooting for them to have a result soon. x

FANTASTIC turn out today, with approx 100 helpers visiting the areas throughout the day and night.

None of the helpers sighted Harvey but after people in the area were spoken to some possible sightings were reported.

Shaun and Jude are camping out overnight in their campervan which is great. They are so overwhelmed with the support they have been getting which is brilliant.

Searching and postering in the area will carry on tomorrow.

I've done various word doc posters and if anyone is able to help printing some off that would be fantastic. Shaun and Jude have run out of the ones they have done and they did a mass lot.

The large banners that have been done look fantastic and a helper has displayed one on their van and also one has been put up on a house wall. Shaun and Jude have one on their campervan.

THANK YOU to everyone for the continued support. x

Nothing concrete today, but we do feel that we are getting closer. We are confident that if no-one scares him further away, or feeds him, and everyone leaves the cricket club alone, he could start holing up there as his "safe spot" for us to get to him. Keep leaflets, posters and sharing going, and thousands of eyes peeled for some sightings, and we will get there in the next few days I am sure! Love to all of you for keeping us going! xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Shaun for posting an update on his DL page.

Little Harvey is quite a celebrity in the area, work colleagues are talkng about him and looking out for him. The support you are getting is phenomenal it is only a matter of time before you get that most important call and are able to get to the sighting a.s.a.p. You and everyone is doing a fantastic job getting the posters out and spreading the word, which is helps tremendously in getting sightings. We are all rooting for you and Jude. x
Shaun Robertson
Thanks Accrington! We seem to have a pattern of reliable sightings now and believe he has stayed in the area where he went missing, thanks to the brilliant DogLost co-ordinators we have had some great expert advice and are taking the softly softly approach in asking people to look out for him and report any new sightings but not approach him or try to catch him as that might drive him out of the area. Thanks all, Shaun

Posters in pubs and butty shops too are very helpful xx Good luck we are all rooting for you in Accrington xx

CONFIRMED sightings TODAY and last night, Rainhill cricket club. Harvey is running from humans but there was a kids football match on the Jones estate field and this was the way that he headed. Harvey loves kids. All parents at the football match were given leaflets and we have combed the entire field. We now need to keep him contained to this area. Scenting advice is on its way to Shaun who is still out there with a team who are assisting in the search today.

Lots of talking and planning going on behind the scenes. I met with Shaun today and we walked all around the Stoops, checked nearby fields and also the wasteland behind the manor farm. Put more posters up around Rainhill station for commuters to see. Tomorrow we are going on a group search to cover a wider area. No confirmed sightings since 10.30pm on the night that he went missing (Sat 23rd) this sightings was of him running across the stoops roundabout and heading towards the M62 east. Witness says he was NOT hit by traffic and although they went back to look for him, he had already gone as he was running at full speed.
A group has been set up on facebook which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1436048763275928/

Newspaper coverage started today with a small ad in the Echo. There was an ad online for the St Helens star but he won't appear in the paper copy until next week as this weeks deadline was missed unfortunately.

A wider scale of media coverage is planned over the next week if he is not home in the meantime. Hopefully it won't be needed. Fingers crossed we get some good news after tomorrows bigger search where we can also give out leaflets to passers by. He is already quite famous in Rainhill, everybody knows he is missing. Adele x

Nice speaking to you Adele and some really useful information. We had what turned out to be a false alarm today, it was a similar looking pooch but not Harvey, unless they have given him a sex change. Rainhill and Prescot is saturated, until we get some more leads or a sighting I'm going to concentrate on leafleting houses and areas immediately East of the Stoops. Thanks for all your effors, Shaun

I have just walked up and down St James road, through the cemetary, back on to St James road, onto Owen road, Lawton road, back up through the village, over the railway and up to the Cosmos and other takeaways in Rainhill. No news. Have spoken to Shaun and advised about food & water sources in the area and talked about any familiar walks Harvey may have been on while visiting.
Also suggested contacting Royal mail local depots to ask if they will display a poster in the sorting offices for postmen to see. Also suggested contacting Arriva, Stagecoach and Halton transport to ask Bus depots to display a poster to make their drivers aware as those buses cover each area that is being focused on at present.
Come on Harvey! Where are you? Adele x
Jmc
My daughter and I can leaflet elmwood and palmwood tonight and toftwood tonight or tomorrow, depending when I get out of sons parents evening. We'll do the picture from Facebook. He'll be back soon I'm sure.

UPDATE from Shaun:

Echo for 7 days from tomorrow, St Helens Star for this week, missed the deadline for Widnes weekly news so is due to appear in next week's issue.
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks Adele for the update. :)

I have been messaging with Shaun, Jude and helpers who are helping in the area.

Great Harvey is going in so many papers and the St Helen's Star get brilliant coverage. I have a look for online links but cannot see anything in them up to now. Media coverage is one of the best ways of spreading the word and if he has been picked up and being kept hold of hopefully someone will recognise him as being a new dog on the block. x
Shaun Robertson
Hi JMC, thank you so much for your offer to help, we have already leafleted all of Ashton Avenue but still have to do Lincoln, Sherman, Toftwood, Porter, meade, Elmswood, Palwood end of Rainhill so if you want to pick a road and leaflet every house that would be brilliant, please let us know if you have covered a certain road so I can tick it off the list of places that have been leafleted. We have delivered lots of different leaflets any of them will be fine, there are some on the FB thread and some here on the doglost site http://www.doglost.co.uk/poster.php?dogId=60422

Thanks so much!! Shaun and Jude

Shaun did mention that they had contacted the following newspapers: the Echo, st Helens Star & Leader, Widnes and Warrington papers.
The St Helens star comes out tomorrow so hopefully they may get him in this weeks edition and that will cover Rainhill and St Helens instantly. I'm heading up towards the village and St James road/ Lawton road area tomorrow for a good look around. Will be day time but will try and get up there again at dusk too. Adele.

Thanks Jmc, I will alert Shaun and Jude to your posting. I have not done the usual various size ones which include the credit sized ones as Shaun and Jude have done their own posters.

Shaun we know it is so frustrating when you are working your socks off and not getting any results, it can sometimes take a few weeks for someone to see his details. Have you got him in any papers yet?
Jmc
Do you have a small leaflet for posting through doors. Would it be helpful if I did Ashton avenue and dunbeath avenue if you could e mail one for me to print.
Shaun Robertson
Thank you for the encouraging and helpful comments everyone, have been leafleting in the area as we have had a couple of possible sightings on Sunday evening, 24 hours after he went missing. He could well be seeking refuge in a shed or outbuilding in a garden. Thanks, Shaun

Thanks Jmc for looking out for Harvey. You and your family worked so hard and you got a great result just like we are all rooting for gorgeous Harvey who is missing now.

Put a poster up in work (lots of people visit our building) and passed some posters onto work colleagues one whose partner works for Britannia Taxis in Whiston Village and another who owns the petshop also in Whiston Village.

Bumped up due to REWARD

UPDATE from owner/s: Been all over the place today with posters and leaflets. Been to Manchester dogs home, Merseyside dogs trust, Cheshire dogs home, all over Widnes and Whiston and parts of Huyton posting flyers, putting flyers in bus stops and giving them out to people. We have a lead that someone saw him on Sunday night wandering around Lawton Rd. We are going to leaflet every house in the area.
Jmc
I have asked my 3 kids to put it on Facebook to all of their friends. We live in rainhill. We lost our Harvey nearly a year ago and found him after 4 days with the help of dog lost. People in work were talking about Harvey today and I work in Huyton so lots of people are looking out for him.
Rileys Mum
Lots more posters seen in the area tonight, brilliant. Come on little man where are you? Time to come home now. Adele x
Shaun Robertson
Thanks for your efforts looking out for Harvey everybody, there is a £500 reward for his safe return. Please keep looking. Thanks, Shaun and Jude

Owners are doing a great job and have plastered the area with lots of posters/flyers, they are also putting Harvey in various papers. Have advised them that not everyone will recognise Harvey as a full poodle due to his distinctive colouring. x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks a million to everyone who is helping look out for Harvey and sharing. It takes just that one poster, share or news paper coverage to be seen by the right person and make that most important call. x

Hope Harvey will be found soon. Stay safe Harvey until you are found. Small paws xd.

Hope to see some good news on Harvey today. I suggested (via facebook) contacting schools in the area today, along with stables nearby. I have forwarded details to local family and friends and my daughter has made her friends aware of Harvey as some of them live around Mill lane area. Adele x

Thanks Shaun for updating the contact numbers, I've added to the details that you are not from the area. I was going to email you info advice but looks like it is not your personal email address. If he is not back by tomorrow I will ask around in work as work in this area. Sure he will be back home soon. Do try the Dog's Trust in Huyton 0151 480 0660 x
