Just to let you know I think of Fred quite often, especially at this time of year - blees him xx

How old would Fred be now? I ask because I was thinking about him when I was reading about Arthur on the oldies website. He has been with them since Sept 2008 after his owners divorced. They think he is about 11.

The Cotswold Show is at Cirencester Park (Glos) on the 7th and 8th of July and there are many BACS gundog events on both days so lots of Springers will be there, so could be well worth a visit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everyone and thanks for your messages. Have been on holiday then the day after I get back, I have the excitment of finding Rosie and reuniting her with her owners in the hope that maybe some day someone will do it for me. I did phone about the dog that was found in Fritton Woods about four weeks ago and it wasnt Fred. The dog warden told me he was entire and about 3-4 years of age. Still hoping Lee xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I think it is realy sad that fred has been missing all this time, but please never give up hope. As has previously been said, it only takes that one phone call and Fred could so easily be back home with you again. Have faith, one day you will be in the right place at the right time, or get that genuine phone call that will reunite you with Fred. I know its hard, but you have to keep going for Freds sake. I have a link to a site similar to this one, if you would like to PM or e-mail me, I will send you the link.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have posted a few messages on here but they seem to vanish!! Dont know why??? Still thinking of Fred. Did you see what Dachy Dave wrote, on Henry, reunited todays page ? "Just spoken to this owner. Henry was found safe & well about a week after he went missing but their computer is not working to have advise apparently. I rang because an 8 year old has been found with my local vet in Newport in Shropshire of similar description last Saturday." Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so so pleased for you Andrea and Roma. I would love to hear the whole story how she came back. Its great news. My neighbour saw a poster about a found Springer and I rang it today and left a message but I have a feeling that it might be the one on the found pages that was found in Basildon, Essex on 21st March in which case, it may be too young to be Fred but you never know. Getting close to the first anniversary and am dreading it!! Still thinking about Fred every day xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Lee Am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Some people do keep them just because they like them even though they do know they belong to someone else. We changed the poster so many times, adding new photo, dif. wording and change of colour. Bought a staple gun and laminated. Also the local paper did run Lottie for 3 weeks on the trot. The paper covered five counties. I believe this new blitz and with countrymans weekly helped us.I know you have done this but please do it again and again in another few weeks. Thinking of you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

FOUND . English Springer Spaniel A liver and white Springer Spaniel was found on the A415 road at Kingston Bagpuize on Sunday 17th September. He is an entire male and not docked. We think he is about 2 years old, but he could be older. He seems fit and well and is wearing a black leather collar. He has liver and white markings to his face but his body is predominantly white. He has a noticable dip to his back and has obviously been trained as he is sociable and sits when asked. We believe that he may have been stolen from someone at some point as he was seen to be dumped onto the side of the road by people in a blue people carrier. The police have been contacted and we will contact the local dog warden tomorrow to check if he has been micro-chipped. LOSTYOURPET.NET HAS THIS DOG. XX Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello I have been in touch with Luton Police who gave me the number of the kennels who are holding the dogs. I contacted them today and they said they would call me back but still waiting This has happened before when I have chased a lead, no one has called me back!!!! I will call them again tomorrow if they dont!! The woman on the phone didnt seem to know what she was talking about and wasnt very helpful. She said she seemed to think they were all black and white but I assured her that they were L/W as the police had told me that and it was up on Dogslost. So I am none the wiser!! But someone said that they are probably younger than Fred and all working dogs. She asked me to write down a description of Fred and anything that would identify him but still waiting for a call Will ring back anyway. Hello and thank you for all your kind comments. Had a terrible shock yesterday. I was trailing through the internet looking on all the rescue sites etc. and I came across a photo of Fred and underneath it said that he had been rehomed with a choc lab and a dalmation! My heart was in my mouth! I rang immediately and the woman was horrified to see that the wrong picture had been uploaded! They were really talking about a greyhound called Fred!! It was a big shock but the woman was really apologetic and changed it straightaway and has now put a big piece on him being stolen on her website! I have to admit I shed a tear after I put the phone down! I am still thinking about you Fred every day. Bless you xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good idea Sharon have to keep Fred in everybodys minds, wonderful that you exercise your puppy but at 5months of age you should still be limiting his exercise i think 2/3hours a day is too much (not meant to sound overpowering)but i have bred a few litters, and have seen first hand the damage that can be caused to their bones. Lee out again soon poster of Fred firmly attached to my back pack will have to get it waterproofed by the look of the weather. How are you keeping? I have just received email regarding Fred - I live on the other side of Wickford nearer to the A127 but will be posting posters on my daily dog walks - I've got a 5mth GSD and we walk her for approx 2-3 hours per day so we should pretty much cover a big area ! Hubby works for BT and I will get him to post up in the Exchanges in Wickford, Bas, Hanningfield, Stock, etc etc - if everybody keeps Fred in the limelight, somebody WILL come forward with information - don't give up hope - my thoughts are with you x Sharon x P.S. If everybody who received the original email forwarded it to ALL in their address book and asked for it to be forwarded in the subject heading - it would go on and on and you would be AMAZED at how many people/areas this would cover. Fred's Devastated Owner
Hello Jackie and all. Back at home and feeling pretty low and having problems with wounds but back online now. What a shame about the groomer??! Its all very odd. When I read about Molly, the Springer Spaniel found with 11 puppies, I really cried! I was in touch with the owner and I was really pleased she was found but its awful about the breeding! Scum bags! But at least she is with her mummy again now. Recovery is a slow process and I am backwards and forwards to the hospital because of ongoing problems. Lee xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Blitz the area where the posters were taken down. That is suspicious. If someone is hiding him nearby make him too hot to handle. Have been investigating a possible sighting of Fred. Had a call from a family in Wickford, Essex in the week saying that were sure they saw Fred in Wickford Memorial Park running around loose and a woman came and took him back when they caught him. Today, Jackie and I have been over to the park and postered everywhere and spoken to people who's houses back onto the park because the family said that the woman had told them the dog had got out of the garden. Keeping fingers crossed that it may be him. We were calling him as we were walking behind the houses but no sign. I would know his bark anywhere. Lee xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Fred's Devastated Owner, hope you are well. What I meant with my comments about answer machines is that while they will not stop the persistant idiots phoneing, they do help in that you can filter them out at least to a degree. We regularly get pestered be people who seem to have more money and time then intelligence, some do it about 20, 30, 40 times a day. But like I said earlier, there are no gauranties with answer phones, no matter what you do, contact your phone service provider, use mps, whatever you do you will not rid yourself of these idiots completely, but you can cut down the incidents when they actually get through. Anyway, I hope Fred comes home soon safe and well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

To Lotties Mum! Nice one! Hope he suffers! Paul - answerphones dont do the trick in persistent hoaxers, they never give up and when it clicks in, they just hang up and ring again and again. Thanks for your posts - havent been on a lot this week as its been appointments, appointments! I still think about Fred all the time and when I read about the found Springer of yesterday, it describes him perfectly apart from the fact that this dog is entire! I agree, call bar prob not best- I got a caller ID phone set up with BT to log all cals and show who was ringing, also set up their free answerphone service. Hated doing it as it tied up the phone but with one particuarly bothersome hoaxer I simply put the phone on the table without cutting off, tying up his phone & bill-particuarly late night. Dont talk to him at all anymore-or listen! Talk to BT,or the police or? mayb there's a way of barring only him. Mayb divert all calls to a friend or one of these kind helpers numbers as most useful info will prob come from someone who doesnt want to leave name or number, your mobile too while in hosp. Hi Lee, hoaxers are the lowest of the low, perhaps as a temporary measure, any new posters being circulated, could have just Doglost Number on them, until you feel you can cope again. Just to give you a bit of a break. If you want to use a number that can be contacted 24hrs you could use my number willingly, or perhaps a friends number. The offer is there if you would like to use it, best of luckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lee i know hoaxers are the worst thing in the world - but bear in mind no thief is going to ring you without withholding their number... Fred needs you to be contactable 24 hrs a day.... it is soul destroying hearing these drunken idiots try and wind you up but don't let them force you to potentially missing the one call you need. We're all around if you want to have a chat, any time. Stay strong - don't let the gits get you down - and remember if you're getting hoax calls then the posters are working - people are reading them and remembering. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi paul. Yes we have done that. Only thing is, I am expecting calls from hospitals in the very near future and they wont be able to get through which is an inconvenice but we have done it. Last night we unplugged the phone again. Its awful isnt it?? Sickos! The call barring thing comes into effect today. the answer phone didnt deter him, everytime it clicked it, he just rang back again!! Arrggh!! What would this world be like without hoaxers? Obviously somwone has more money than brains. One thing you could try to help prevent this is to contact your phone service provider and get them to set your connection so that you cannot receive calls from those who withhold their numbers, forcing callers to not withhold their number, we did that with our bt line. If you do that though, you may still get timewasters calling you, but you can fillter those out with an answer machine.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep checking Fred's page hoping he's turned blue. Dont give up-the publicity so far seems to be having a knock-on effect-using the angle of Fred being on TV and so on may help generate further publicity-try for stories in local and national newspapers as well as doggy mags! The chances that the people who have seen him/know where he is will see it and call you will multiply. Have PM'd you but forgot to add my Border Collie(cross) went missing 10/10/05 also Essex, if you want more details.Be strong-dont let the hoaxers make you switch off your phone too often-Fred needs it!TC.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well folks, at quarter to four this morning, my phone at home started ringing and it was a young lad on there saying he had Fred. Of course, it was a hoax and I hung up. He kept ringing and ringing and ringing!! In the end, we pulled the plugs on the phone. I really could do without it at the moment with all my health issues. What a nightmare eh???! Some people are sickos! My husband gave him a right mouthful and all he said was that he was trying to do us a favour! The number was withheld (of course)!! In work now, absolutely knackered!! I phoned about the Springer that was found yesterday or the day before. I know that it said he was approx. four years of age but you never know. I left a message but no one has got back to me. I dont think its Fred - it said that he was more liver than white but Fred has the same really and freckles. Hi fred's owner, have you tried the dog Warden at Brentwood Council? A long shot I know but worth a try. Also, the local papers and maybe Essex radio might put a poster on their web sites. Thanks for mentioning that horse show at Pitsea Jackie, you night see me down there too on Sunday, as I plan to give them a poster about Trigger the corgi jack russell cross, well you never know do you! Maybe they would put posters on their web site too if we ask them. You can have it done at any age, nothing to stop someone else getting him chipped but if he already had a chip & went missing then scanned it would prob show up both chips, also the people who chip the pets usual go over the dog after chipping to see if it works ok so if there was already a chip there that would show up Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry you're not too well, hardly suprising with all the stress of recent weeks. While removing my Milly posters today I heard everybodys 'dog stories' ! met some lovely dog friendly people (the best sort) One lady told me about her lurcher which was stolen, she lives in Headley, Surrey. There was no dog lost then, or at least she didn't know about it. She had no way of letting people know about the dog but she did get her picture in a country pursuits type magazine. After nearly five months she said she accepted she wouldn't see her again. Then she got a phone call from a man in Buckinghamshire who had happened to see an old copy of the magazine and said "I think I've bought your dog, I've had her several months and we all adore her but my conscience had to call you, cos I'm sure she is your dog...and she was..re-united. So, its brilliant that posters are still going up anywhere and everywhere and with all those new dog lost eyes on the case. Inspired by that story and the success of the 'Milly case' I am going to put some posters up in the dog walking areas round here,,,get well soon...Jan xxx( P.C. Nephew still got poster too)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Times change so quickly, Murphy one of my springers is two at the end of the month & I remember visiting my parents in Bath when he was around 6mths old, we had to collect something from the town centre & parked the car in the multi storey car park leaving Murphy in the the car for 1/2 an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did not give it a second thought then! but now I'm horrified that I did that! I would never leave any of my dogs unattended in the car & thats what has changed in a few months, I think dog theft has become the "In" crime recently, I remember the other week we went into Basildon & there was a dog left outside wilkinsons & I watched the man go in the shop, he was gone for ages & what was I doing? stood there opposite the shop making sure he never went off with anyone else! I didn't even know the man but I just could not go off & just forget about it!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Jackie and Helen. Have to confess, Ive just been to my local shop and I am annoyed. Someone who lives near me has a beautiful white staff who is so obedient and good natured. She leaves him outside the shop nearly every day! I said to her to be careful that dogs go missing every day outside shops and from cars and that he was such a lovely dog, someone would take him. She seemed to get the hump with me! I am mad that people are so careless and dont want to listen to good advice. I would hate for her to lose him - its obvious she adores him. She almost avoided me on the way back from the shop! oh well. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

With all the recent coverage there are many, many more people aware of this wonderful site, not just those that have registered but lots more who are monitoring every day and on the look out for dogs that are missing, new dogs appearing near their homes and in the various places they walk their dogs. They are dog lovers like us, they talk to other doggie people and even more people become addicted to this site, and keep on looking, checking, not just on those gone that day or the day before. What I am attempting to say is ...there are many more eyes out there looking for Fred than ever before. My thoughts are with you and all the other poor owners still waiting.. I would have fallen apart long ago. I spent yesterday morning wandering over Epsom Downs with my dogs (on leads) discreetly peering into the large travellers site up there. Amazing, unlike previous years, I didn't see one dog ! Just one pony and loads of children zooming round on those motorised bikes, which would have flattened any dog that was outside anyway. It occurs to me that my messages tend to be miles longer than anyone elses, sorry about that...I don't do concise ! Obviously. Jan xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

doggroomer - phoned about the lost springer and he has been claimed. I had a call from a lady saying she had seen a Springer at Acres way Kennels in Benfleet so I rang them and its not Fred - his name is Dougie and he is four and his owners dont want him anymore!! She offered him to me!!! How sad is that?? :( She knew all about Fred, has a poster up and looks out for him all the time. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As everything was such a blur yesterday, does anyone remember if it was said on the show where each of us came from?? I think it really would have helped and I dont think it was mentioned. Went into the docs surgery today and the receptionist said "I saw you on TV last night"!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne - you have been quoted in the Echo as well. Yesterday was nerve wracking but well worth it and everyone at the show was really friendly. Just a shame about only putting the number on screen and not the website address and getting all those awful hoax calls. I was worried I was going to get hoax calls in the night! The show let us keep the big photos of our dogs which was nice. The article in the paper today is great. I am at the end of my tether now. just waiting by the phone xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

After months of addiction to this site I have at last registered, inspired in large part by your desperate search for Fred. By some absolute miracle I have managed to get my extremely temperamental printer to print off a poster of Fred, which I have given to my nephew who is in the Surrey police. He has instructions to memorise that lovely face and show it to as many police pals as poss.I realise we are some way from you (in Epsom) but recent 'finds' show the distances that need to be covered, particularly as for the next few weeks leading up to the Derby he will be having even more than usual 'interaction' with the travelling community who are arriving in Epsom already.Hopefully the picture of Fred in his patrol car will remind him to be alert for any suspected snatched dogs. I really, really hope you have some good news very, very soon. JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Freds Owner, my thoughts are with you, breaks my heart to hear such stories, how can these monsters take a family member and think nothing of it, makes me so angry. A tv company really needs to take the lead in getting a permanent programme or just a slot on teatime tv, the publicity would do wonders as Paul O Grady has proven. Hi Lee Well we have covered nearly the whole of Essex I am talking to the dog warden tomorrow would you like me to find out about accidents all dogs have to be registered if involved in a fatal accident so the police should be able to check there records and tie up dogs involved in lost and traffic accidents so don't worry to much about that area (but obviously things went wrong in that area for billy) but if you want i will check it out for you we are going to get him back please be strong think about my boy my uncle still thinks its a dream but its not we got him and we are really going to pull out the stops now I promiseLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Come on Fred get yourself home now! Lee - I do hope that Billy's story has given you some hope, I know how hard you've been finding this but i really do hope that you can really believe it when i've said how you must keep going, keep looking and keep hoping because it really does happen that a range of pure coincidences can make all the pieces of the lost dog jigsaw fall into place and someone comes forward to say where the dogs are. Don't give up, get them posters out there!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Make sure you get a car plastered in posters parked up at the car boot sales and markets this weekend. Not only do you have lots of people visiting, but there are also lots of dodgy stall holders. Dee I was having the same thought. Fred's owner, in a twisted sort of way these calls may be better than no calls. It might means that you are getting close. Fred's owner - what did they say this time? PM if you aren't comfy putting it on here. Keep it up - remember what i said last time - if you're getting hoaxes then it means posters are being read in dodgy areas.. dodgy areas mean dodgy people and one of them will be dodgy enough to tip off their "mates". Fred's owner I've been thinking and just wanted to say that although I know its not easy, try not to concentrate on the days Fred is missing, I would have thought that wherever Fred is now, he is there to stay. Try to focus on getting the message out to the people who are around him now so that they can recognise him as your dog. Three springers who have recently gone to blue. One took 27 day, another 19 days, and the other less than a week. Time is important to you because you miss him so much but getting the message out and keeping it out is important to the people around Fred. I hope this makes sense and makes you feel more positive. Take carexxx p.s. Give that cat of yours a stoke from me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just wanted to say how sorry I am that there is no news on Fred yet. I have looked on this thread everyday hoping to see him in blue. I don't live near you to help so this is for moral support really. I'm a proud owner of a springer, they are fantastic dogs and Fred is so handsome. I lost my baby girl once but she is home safe and sound now, it was because someone saw a poster. It is a case of getting people who know about Fred's whereabouts to see your message. You really are doing so well at this difficult time and so are all your helpers. I will keep sending out positive thoughts for you and Fred, I really hope you get some good news soon.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The standard rule of thumb, Fred's owner is that dogs generally don't travel more than 10 miles out the area - but that is a very standard rule. If they have, they usually haven't gone more than 30 miles.... selling a dog on is a quickly done deal, usually close to the place the dog was taken (and usually a pub or park) - and the thief is likely to be local or have very local connections so for them to take a dog far away would be illogical - they have hunting grounds where they know they can steal from easily - it isn't worth taking a dog 200 miles away when it costs you ?50 in petrol to drive there in a 4x4 knowing you'd only get ?50/?100 for the dog in a sale... does that make sense?? So glad your son is feeling a bit better today. Lots of people out walking dogs in the sunshine today - get those posters out to them!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fred is probably closer then you think. But best to cover all areas just in case.Just poster poster poster to make him to hot to handle. Have you tried local taxi firms, bus drivers, milkmen and haulier companies.Take aways, pet stores. Also try the shooting communities and all local farms. Have you tried all local breeders.Try the website champ dogs and springer spaniels it will give you a list of local breeders.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello have just rang Acres Way and left Fred's details. I asked about the place in Hadleigh and the lady said that all dogs from that area go to them. They have taken his details anyway. Thanks Jacqui for your help in postering xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fred's owner... would it help your son to come on here and post? Obviously with your supervision, but we welcome the involvement of children in helping find lost dogs - and it may just give him the encouragement and hope that he isn't alone in this? He might even have ideas we can discuss on how to find Fred and perhaps we can allay any of his fears? It might just help him if he feels like he can "do" something other than worry? Have a think about it xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear All Thanks for your messages. I have emailed Gemini with details of Fred and I will call Acres Way tomorrow - lets just hope Im not too late! I dont think the missing dog can be Fred because its described as having its face nearly all liver whereas Fred has a lot of white on his face and he is freckly but I will call tomorrow. I feel so drained today its awful and my son is back to square one....... :(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did anyone enquire at the place I suggested at Hadleigh, where police take stray dogs.? I know its probably already been looked into, but it may be useful? Hope so.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was withheld unfortunately! He gave me a landline number and it was unobtainable. He sounded a bit divvy - should have known better really. Said he found Fred walking around Pitsea yesterday. It wasnt a kid either, it was an adult. I feel sick now. :(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did you get his number or was it withheld? There are some sick people in this world - try to ignore them with the thought that what goes around will come around for them - and gain strength from the decent people here.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SOME PEOPLE ARE UNREAL!! Just had a call on my mobile from a man saying he had Fred and he lived in the Pitsea area. He gave me an address and phone number and as I am at work, I asked my dad and son to go round and see. I said to the bloke I would call him back to confirm. When I dialled the number he gave me, it was unobtainable. When my dad got there, the man who was there didnt know what he was talking about!!! Obviously a crank call! I cant believe people would do that - what do they gain out of it??!! God I am in a right state now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No PM received Fred's mum: doesn't matter how old the posters are - the thieves are habitual... once they've stolen a dog once they go back for more - easy pickings when there is a reward on offer!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fred's owner: go back to the lamppost with the other missing dogs details on and call the owners - if the dogs are still missing you can all help each other - if they are back - they may well have leads that you can follow up. That many dogs going missing in one area isn't a coincidence...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello - Not been on since yesterday. Have just come back from three hours of postering all around Basildon and even the dodgy places if you know what I mean! Also, I saw my postman this morning and he is putting a poster in the sorting office and also he runs a social club on the other side of town and said he would put one up in there. Had my eyes peeled the whole time. On one lampost, there were three other signs with missing dogs on! Its heartbreaking. I wonder if they have been found. Sorry, I didnt read message about postering for Ted's owners I could have done. I was in a rush to get out this morning. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A puppy (Ted) missing from a garden in Basildon on todays missing list - is this the start of a problem in Basildon - maybe just coincidence but maybe you should team up with Ted's owner as well? Hope Fred and Ted are back ASAP RxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can I also say thanks here to Jackie - Billy the yorkie's owner, stolen 4 months ago from Edmonton - she called Fred's and Ted's owners to recommend doglost - and Freds owner as she is local she is more than happy to be moral support, as we all are here.... together we're a stronger team and with help from everyone in the area and getting more and more posters up, we can find the person who saw or knows where Fred went to. Fred's owner... as we discussed yesterday, i'd hazard a guess that he's been sold on quickly. Thieves don't bother driving dogs for miles - usually - i won't say it doesn't happen but its definitely rare. Ignore negative comments - i won't pass my judgement on what the others have told you on other forums - save to say that I think you'll find the people who know about stolen dogs on this site! Please please don't worry. Concentrate on the pubs and sites like we spoke about yesterday, get posters up - hundreds and hundreds of them. The key is to get Fred too hot to handle and then to find the person who has seen him or who knows who had him. The Husky that was found in Hastings today (one of the incredibly rare ones - and it wasn't the thief who drove him there) - was found because of a local tip off.... giving pretty much exact details. It is possible... just keep on going. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Another thought...theres a place near Hadleigh that police take stray dogs to, I don't know the name, but the Police would help??? My Cousins dog got out in Leigh and the police had found her and taken her to this place. Hope its a help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Fred's Devastated Owner
Dear Dee - I have rang Novem twice. They said to me that if he went missing a week ago, then he is more than likely in someone's house. THe person on the other forum said he could have been picked up, driven miles away, found to be unsuitable and then dumped or put in a kennels miles away!! Cheerful eh?? Someone also said (on the same forum) that someone visiting the area for Easter could have taken him and he is miles away by now! Just what I need to hear! Like my neighbour said, "ring the dog warden but you have to be quick cos they sell them"!!!!!!!!! Arrrggghhh!! Dear Cushti - thanks for looking in those places - I know them well.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fred's owner - as far as we are aware the only Local Authority that uses kennels that far away is part of Beds. Essex, unless we are mistaken, uses local kennels. Your dog warden should be able to supply details of the holding kennels for stray dogs. DO NOT LOSE HEART... we're here with you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not sure about the "travellers" thing, but, I suppose you hear so many stories about them snatching dogs etc, I hope to goodness it isn't that. Lets hope Fred is just being looked after by some unsuspecting person who will be kind enough to hand him in somewhere !! Best of luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
