I went around the benches at Crufts yesterday (Sunday) and left posters with the rescue stands and various show people who said they would also circulate to other Chinese Crested clubs. I spoke to the man whose car Flute escaped from. Maureen Flute's owner was not at Crufts she is still very upset and missing her. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes there are two kennels, tried them both with no luck. She proberbly moved on from this area a long time ago but its the only area that she has been sighted so thought I might post through the letter boxes again to see if it joggs anyones memories about seeing her.......I think Maureen her owner just wants closure even if its not good news.....JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I look every day to see if there is any news on Flute. I went to a dog show the other day and one of the breeders of C.Cresteds knew about Flute and said there is a Greyhound kennels near the NEC (no idea where, do not come from that area)and thought it might be an idea to try and find it and visit. Best of luck Anne ---X---Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Flutes owner Maureen telephoned me last night it has been 5 months to the day since Flute went missing and she was a little upset. I said that I would print off the posters and hit the lane again. If anyone lives in the surrounding areas of the NEC could you do the same. Many thanks.....JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Standardnuttydog - yes please if you don't mind. I don't know the breed to well, only what Maureen and others have told me (I'm owned by a boxer), Maureen, her owner said she would be wary of strangers but if she was cold, tired and hungry she may of allowed someone to pick her up and the NEC must have thousands of visitors each week from all over......JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news, no sightings at all except those on the day she went missing, tried all the avenues Shelly suggested, I'm still having a drive around the area every few days. I am trying to catch the owner of the cycle track again to find out who owns the farm land to see if he would let me go on his land and have a look around. She may not even be in that area - Meriden, Solihull, Chelmsley Wood are nearby and somebody could have taken her in......Just have to keep hoping someone sees her soon.....JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My husband is still quite poorly and not sure when he will be out and no news on Flute yet all in all not a good week. Trouble is it is very quiet with open fields around the area that Flute was last seen, not many people around to spot her. Perhaps with the lighter nights more people might use that bike track and we might get a sighting, hopefully....JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's so sad, poor little Flute. Just to think of all those thousands of people at Crufts and this little dog goes missing and no-one has seen her. The weather has been so horrid too, with the intense frosts and now wet. I'm inclined to agree with the owner, lets hope she can get closure. Spoke to Maureen the owner today, She is a little disheartened that Flute has not been sighted and is fearing the worse due to the weather, but wanted to thank everyone for thier help and to say that Flute's appearance will have changed slightly as she will now be covered with very fine white hair, wouldn't call it a "coat" but never the less would not appear hairless anymore......JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Shelly just tried the Drayton Kennels number - she hasn't been taken there but the Lady has taken my number in case she is brought in. I emailed Packington Hall's estate office, golf course and fisheries yesterday and the game keeper is keeping an eye out for her. I am not the owner, she lives in Nottingham, but hasn't got access to the internet or able to drive, I have been updating her on the posts and following up any sightings for her and just generally having a look around as I live close to the NEC.....So anything you can think of, it will be 2 weeks this friday I just hope Flute's doggie instincts have kicked in and she has found food and somewhere warm....JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spent the morning going up and down Middle Bickenhill Lane armed with a tin of dog food and water, calling her but no luck. Have put posters through all the houses in the lane and spoke to the guy at the Kennels and the owner of the Cycle Track both spotted her on the day she went missing around 1.00pm the guy from the kennels rang the NEC but said no one could help him. They tried to catch her but she was too fast. They will do their best to catch her if she is sighted again and I have left my home number with them. Trouble is its such a vast space of open fields surrounded by motorway and busy dual carriageway. The owner said yesterday that she had contact the highways agencies but had no luck there and I have driven up and down the dual carriageways this morning to see if I can spot anything, but thankfully nothing!!. The track owner thought she was heading towards Meriden way but could have changed direction and gone towards Balsall Heath??. I just hope there is another sighting soon so we have some idea which area she is in......JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had call from owner she has no computer so is unable to post. She has had a call from a couple who saw one of the articles: Flute was spotted on the Friday afernoon that she went missing around the Olympia Cycle Track, they were unable to catch her and she ran off towards Middle Bickenhill Lane in the direction of the Kennels that are down there. Owner also confirmed that she went missing at 11.00am on the Friday from a maroon Ford Focus, Carpark E2 by the Lodge House. As the owner is an OAP and unable to drive I had left my number with her just in case she is sighted at any time but I am unavailable this afternoon and tonight, is there anyone else who lives local to the NEC that can contact the owner and give her a contact number in case she is sighted today, many thanks. ......JanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh how terrible - what sort of time did she go missing? I remember seeing a young (early teenage) girl with a long ponytail carrying a Crested in the DD area at about 3pm ish on Friday (my 3 yr old son though someone had shaved the dog and was asking me why). By the way security at the door by the bully DD was tight because they wouldn't let one of the ladies take her bully out for weeeeee's - but they were a little less so by the samoyed DD because the Akita DD lady i had been talking to took her girl out for a leg stretch. Pm me if you need more help. I live 5 mins from the NEC, so will keep my ears open to this onex xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
