Did you manage to chase up any cctv from near the companion vet?
Bex83
Unfortunately there has been no further developments :( I just want to make sure he is ok. He does not have a bad bone in his body my 18 month old use to chase and pull him around and NOT ONCE did he try nip! even when she poked him in the eye he just laid there!

Any further developments on this little one?

Companion Vets are at Pets At Home on the Tunbridge Wells Retail Park - they would definately have CCTV cameras there for shop-lifting purposes - could they provide a good pic of this chap?

Thanks CJ - I knew you would be on the case!

If the man contacted the chip company they would not release information unless he had a pin number like vets etc have ( as do some of doglost co-ordinators)

I would suggest asking local papers to run a story. get description of this person and time he went in. Do vets or any near by shops etc have CCTV that could be looked at.
This person is committing a criminal offence. He must let dog warden know and keeping this dog is theft by finding.

I will get a message out on twitter plus ask NHW police to send out alerts for this area.
Gino
you're welcome cara!
Tiga
Presumably the vet will have a good description of the man and perhaps any other customers at the time. Perhaps someone saw a vehicle. Surely if he was in a hurry someone will have remembered seeing this. Did he have to pay for the scan? Could he have contacted the microchip company for details of owner - if so do they log the calls? Have they been warned not to give the details out?

Thanks gino

Ah I see now. And it was 3rd June, that he went missing and was found and had chip checked on the same day. Deffo need posters up all around that area, as the man may be local to that vet. Wonder if there is CCTV anywhere near the vet to get a pic of the chap you took him in?
Maggie
A man found him and took him to Companion Vets to see if he had a chip, the man was in a rush so they didn't take his details. He was advised to take him to Tunbridge Wells Police station. Owners been in touch with them and the Dog Warden but he's not been handed in.

It was companion vets who contacted the owner

Hope that makes sense SpringermadLast edited: 2013-06-07 07:14:01 by Maggie

What were the circumstances of this little fellow going missing, as I don't really understand your post, sorry! Who took him to the vet, someone who found him, and then made off with him again? Wonder if they are waiting for a reward then?
Bex83
Hi, I have updated Mramite's profile with the last place he was spotted. He was scaned at the vets and has not been seen since and his microchip has not been scanned since! - The vet siad the man was in a rush and they did not get his details! - He is still missing

Can you clarify exactly where Marmite went missing. It is saying lost in Tun Wells, but postcode of TN10 which is north Tonbridge? Thanks.

Sorry to see that MARMITE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (53137)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
