Thank you to everyone for helping us look for Springer. His body was found this morning (23 February) by a kind gentleman walking his dogs on the field next to the Coca Cola Building. About 500 yards from where Springer left me 3 weeks ago. He is believed to have died either yesterday or the day before, either from internal injuries following a traffic accident, or a stroke / seizure/ heart attack or choking. It is not believed he died as a result of the hard frost last night. I am grateful that there are so many people who share our loss. He was loved, people care, his passing matters to a lot of people.THANK YOUPlease can I ask just one more favour? Please let everyone else know, by sharing as you did to look for him, by removing any posters you put up, by passing on our deep gratitude.Lastly, should anyone feel so moved, please feel free to make a donation to either or lurcherlink.org or doglost.co.uk

Hi,our offices are in Sketty Close near one of the many footpath entrances where I walk with my old spaniel most days, no sightings as yet but am keeping an eye out. Are the helpers aware that there are security patrols to some premises during the night? I have put a poster on our gates tonight in the hope that the guys from Securitas that check our premises will see it and keep an eye out and pass the word too!! Really hoping Springer is home safe and warm soon. Hugs from us xxx

Wispa and Phebe were wonderful. We still haven't seen any further signs of Springer. We did a late night BBQ with bacon, sausages, pork chops and his 4 favourite people. But he didn't come to us. Checked over the road to another field where there are some big pipes that offer good shelter, no tracks in the snow. Went over to Aspley heath again as there was a sighting of a loose black whippet type dog a few times last week, but again, no loose dogs that I saw. We are still looking and searching and hoping the big fella sees his way clear to coming home soon.

We went and tracked around the area yesterday. Wispa found very fresh scent, to judge from her excitement I would think some of it was from earlier yesterday. She took us round a few circuits, one of those included a road on the edge of the industrial estate, but mainly Springer seemed to be remaining in the woods and going round an adjacent ploughed field where we found fresh pawprints the right size and with no accompanying human prints. There is everything a lurcher would need in those woods, fresh water, shelter from wind, and rabbits galore.

I am just wondering if anyone has spoken to the many lorry drivers that park sometimes overnight around that area - probably been thought of already. Happy to help in any way and hoping for positive news soon.

The hay bed was disturbed and food eaten today. I realise it's probably just wild life or another dog on a walk with its owner. But it might be him. Have left fresh food and scented area.

have circulated missing details via "whats on in Hardingstone" facebook page and am aware that other locals are sharing this on their FB pages. Also HNW have circulated the poster to co-ordinators. Will be up on brackmills area tomorrow so will keep a look out. Hoping for positive news soon xx

The hay bed was not touched, the food uneaten. No sightings at all. Have spent hours emailing, cross posting, publicising him. Putting more posters up tonight.
Lovely lady has offered to bring her tracker dog 100 miles to help search when the weather becomes less blustery and more favourable for such a search.

Everyone we saw today had seen a poster or talked to a searcher. No sightings of Springer at all. Have put a hay bale spread out for a warm bed if he returns to where l last saw him. Put food down next to it. Sat in hay bed with my other dogs so it smells of us too. I am praying when units get opened again on Monday morning someone will see him. If anyone would like to put up posters a stack are available from alternative art on Kettering road, Northampton. Tsai Clifton has very kindly had a load printed.

No news at all today on Springer, owner has been out handing flyers to dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Find Springer Group has been created on Facebook by owner. Post made via group requesting any local sniffer dogs who could help search and also for any contacts at Sywell Aerodrome who could maybe organise a fly-by? Too far away to help search but have shared on FB. Hope he's found safe and well very soon xxx
