The Cotswold Show is at Cirencester Park (Glos) on the 7th and 8th of July and there are many BACS gundog events on both days so lots of Springers will be there, so could be well worth a visit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Helpers and vets in immediate vicinity have been emailed, as has NAWT.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I grew up in Bushey and this site has been there as long as I can remember. There are a couple of kennels in the vicinity and the NAWT. This is a HCC run site and I will be talking to the GLO in the morning. I have emailed over the poster already. Geographically there is some logic here.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to hear about Archie and also sorry that I don't live nearer to help poster the area. Could be worthwhile putting posters up in/around local schools and newsagents etc. Children are pretty good and noticing/finding things, especially if a reward is offered. The best of luck and I hope that when I log on tomorrow that Archie is on the 'blue' pages.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Your right DonnaB. Threatening violence should evoke police action. BUT yet again these damn people on travellers sites appear to be above the law and owners have to suffer the loss of their beloved dogs to them without any investigation. Makes me sooooooooo angry too. Les99 put posters on the gate posts of the entrance to this site. When they know we are on to them, the dog is often let loose within the hour. Good luck...judyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We keep hearing the same old stories and it makes me so angry! What good is a chip unless someone can get into these 'travellers' sites and scan all the dogs???? Archie should be back home by now and I realy hope he is.... very soon. Stay safe Archie. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If the lady was threatened with violence, surely the police can go in there, and in doing so, can check if the dog is Archie? Good luck !!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Long time no post but just had a call of a sighting of a Liver and White English Springer Spaniel, middle aged, with some travellers on Sandy lane, Bushey. Apparently there is a travellers site nearby and the lady was threatened with violence and reported this to the police. Please keep an eye out if anyone is in that area. rgds LesLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The bitch was dark red and white, we don't know the colour of the young one. It did occur to me after the dog warden phoned that dark red might be the same as liver, but of course in this instance it unfortunately can't be Archie. However, I think I'll email her Archie's poster anyway. The DW thought their discovery was suspicious. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just seen on 'Found', Black & white springer dog found with 2 other springers at Redbourne. I know Archie is liver & white, but could there be a connection? What colour are the other 2 springers that were with the black & white one?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You really do need to get the media on board. Stress the fact that he was picked up by an unknown woman who didn't take Archie to the DW and the fact that she was travelling in the Barnet (or Enfield) direction. The Barnet Press covers a good chunk of North London - 020 8364 4040 (and they are also the Enfield Advertiser and the Enfield Gazette). Also try Barnet Times - 020 8359 5959 (and they are also the Enfield Independent.) Speak to reporters on both editions by asking seperately for the district reporter for Barnet and the district reporter for Enfield.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sure you must have postered the road this lady was on when she picked up Archie in case she uses the road frequently. Try to use bigger posters so that they are easily seen, do you know what time of day she was passing and who saw her then maybe you could look out for her or her car, know it's a long shot but just thinking . My Daughter and all her family and friends have been very busy with flyers and posters wherever they can but still no news on Archie I'm afraid. We have done a mail shot of loads of pet shops and vets and the Hertsmere Dog Warden has been very helpful with spreading the word among dog wardens nationally. How can we get the message to this woman that took Archie ???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Despite the fact that I've been following Archie's story, it's only just occured to me that nobody's mentioned the Animal Welfare Trust. Effectively they are only up the road on the A41 in Bushey. Have sent poster and will check with them tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a reported sighting of a Liver/White Springer Spaniel at 9:00pm last night 8/11/05 at Cole Green Roundabout, on the A414 near Welwyn Garden City. Please keep an eye out please. Any Posters in that area would be appreciated. Reward is now 250, rgds Les 07918084143Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you tried the Dog Warden in the area there is one for Enfield and they are located at the Enfield Civic Centre and I am sure they would be able to give you a list of the other wardens there are two numbers for the enfield warden one is 02083793683Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If the "Dog Rescuer" is aware of this site and reads this message, please hand over the dog; he needs to be back with his rightful owners right now. You claimed to be a dog owner yourself; how would you feel if this was your dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Forgot to say, Any flyer posting, at vets, pet shops etc. would be really appreciated, we are guessing the "Dog Rescuer" might be perhaps in Enfield, Barnet, Totteridge, Wood Green, Potters Bar. Mail me if anyone wants small, medium, large posters. Thanks again, LesLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news I'm afraid. I've reported Archie as stolen now as its been four days since he was picked up on the A411 by the unknown lady. All we know is that she was heading in the Arkley direction which could lead to Barnet, Enfield, Whetstone who knows ????? We've all been out today handing out flyers in parks, cards in newsagents. Thanks for all your help so far, rgds LesLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've cross posted to a spaniel site in the hope that people will both look out for Archie (in case he pops up in one of their rescue's) and also to look at this site - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

One of our helpers has called to say she stopped traffic along with another lady on tuesday evening at Sterling Corner on the A411 and rescued a similar dog that she thinks could be Archie. The other lady took archie home with her and said she was going to ring the dog warden.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
