I am sorry to say that dear old Casper has been found near one of the farms mentioned below. He appears to have died of natural causes, and the man who found him lives there and regularly walks the area and says he wasn't there the day before yesterday. Casper was 15 and had started to get a bit confused. I'm sad that we didn't find him and get him home before he passed on, but at least his family have been able to bring him back where he belongs. Run free in spirit, Casper xx

Wispa and I went and tracked this boy yesterday. Wispa followed the scent right up to the point where he was last seen and then continued up the hill into a series of interlinked pastures. Casper had obviously been wandering round backwards and forwards and round in circles, typical of an elderly and rather confused old dog, but as Wispa was looking for the trail which led out of the pastures she hit a strong air scent so we headed in that direction which led to a couple of farms. I think he was round there fairly recently, but we didn't take it further as Wispa's nose and brain were getting tired. Good thing we stopped there as heavy rain came in as soon as we got back to the house, so she could not have done more anyway. The hopeful thing is that Casper seems to have moved right away from the river. Owners have got lots of posters up, everyone seems to know about him.

Spoke to owner Casper disappeared during a walk after being lifted over a ladder stile. Owners husband had to walk around and found Casper missing. They have checked around the area and river close by - suggested to check this areaa again in case Casper has become caught. Posters are up in the area where he went missing and local shops/vets. Have recommended checking in person at Fleet Kennels and also to register Casper with Craven Dog warden and check with their kennels. Owner is aware that chips can be missed/migrate. Petlog (chip co.) notified he is missing. Hope there is some news of Casper soon.
