What a lovely message Flicka's mum. You truly deserve to be reunited with your dog. Before I lost Fritz I had no idea just how many people go through the anguish and heartbreak of losing their pet. I've wondered if Fritz is having a whale of a time living on a farm or with gypsies. If only somebody would just let us know that they have our pet, we could make further decisions instead of aimlessly tramping around the countryside looking for them. Hi there, Flicka's mum here. Thinking about Flicka alot over the holidays and I just wanted to wish everyone who uses this site a hopeful new year, with luck and the help of people on here may as many as possible be reunited with their loved one in the coming new year. I am overseas at the moment but praying that Flicka is safe and warm somewhere hopefully not missing us as much as we are missing her. We will always keep the hope that we will be reunited with her but have a strong feeling that she will be with a family somewhere hopefully still the same beautiful companion, kind and loving as you could wish for. My heart, love, hope and best wishes go out to those in the same position as us, just not knowing is so painful. All we can do is keep hoping and wishing that our pets are safe and being cared for wherever they are - and that we will see them again one day soon. Every day is a step closer to finding them. Stay strong friends and as long as people and sites like this are available and working the more chance we have of seeing our loved ones again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Since Flicka went missing we have had a few phonecalls of sightings of similar looking strays - unfortunately we have not been able to confirm any of these as being her because by the time we have got there the dog has disappeared. Had a phonecall today about a sighting last night in the Littleborough area (a good few miles down the road in Lancashire) from someone who had just seen a poster. I contacted the police station in Littleborough to make sure they had her details which they do. We really think because of her nature - friendly with people - that she is probably with someone, we just hope that they are taking care of her and realise that because she is so friendly and healthy she comes from a family that love and care for her and are missing her deeply and that they think to report her as being found rather than just adopt her as their own without checking. Am doing a door to door leaflet drop in a nearby town in the next week - keep spreading awareness about her and let those that have heard already know that she is still missing. Stay strong and think positive fellow searchers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Rachel - Flicka's mum here: We have been spreading the search wider this past week. Now in contact with dog wardens and police in surrounding areas outside of Calderdale. Vets, kennels, animal rescue and pet shops are being faxed Flicka's details. So many people have offered help and useful info and we know there are lots of people looking out for her. We've been driving round as well putting up posters is post offices and shops further afield. Thank you to Doglost for providing this brilliant service and to everyone that helps reunite dogs with owners that love and care for them. Good luck to all that are searching for their loved ones- stay strong and think positive.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
