Been talking to finders; they kept me up to date and they did all the right things and made sure these two were legally owned and checked out via DW. They loved them so much in the 8/9 days they cared for them, I am hoping they now find two more furbabes needing homes to make their own. Well done, Simon. xLast edited: 2012-10-13 13:31:10 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator Essex and Herts

The puppies have now been returned to their rightful owner

Thanks Sonia. Could be they were stolen and then something happened which made the thief let them go, in which case they could have come from anywhere in the country. Or, they are local and owners don't know what the procedure is, or what to do to find them. I would second an article in the local paper, but as has been said, they cannot be passed on without proof of ownership. Too many people could claim to be owners and we don't want these babies falling into the wrong hands, which can easily happen unless there is evidence of ownership and there should be. This does need to go through the authorities i.e. dog warden/police. I would also suggest keeping your names out of the paper so you don't get bombarded with people claiming ownership, direct all calls to the dog warden. At least they are safe with you, which is a fantastic thing. You never know what could have happened. Very well done to you all.

We are the finders! My sisters lodger found them wandering round on the main road and took them in, she knocked on local doors and contacted the police. We took them off her as they would have been left on their own as the household all work. We have taken them to the vets and had them checked out and contacted the dogs wardens but we have heard nothing yet. Can't understand why anyone may dump them or if they have escaped why no-one has been in touch

The finders have posted on the Herts FB page and I have suggested that they get on contact with the Barnet Times. I must say that I'm a bit surprised that they should have found two so young straying together.
