P.S. it does just go to show, yet again, that posters are the key!!

So pleased she has been found! Went over this morning to collect some posters and put them up all down their street and on Balham Hill and Majestic Wine/petrol station/avalon pub etc then walked through the back streets to Wandsworth Common train station and did begin to fear the worst as the fences to the train lines have big enough gaps for a small dog to get through... But by the time we got back to their house there she was!! Amazing and such a relief. Well done Moppet for getting yourself spotted and have fun with your ball in the sunshine. I agree that most people don't know that if they find a dog that it is the law to report it to the dog warden ASAP. It sounds like these people were just a bit worried she would end up in a pound though, not realising that she might have had a microchip. Anyway, all ended well and the more PR for dog lost the better! Think you've found yourself a couple of new recruits in the form of Moppet's owners :-). Meanwhile, thanks to dog lost for enabling my friend and I to help out. It has made our day/week/month! All the v best to you all, Victoria

I just had a call from Moppet's owner to say Moppet has been found safe and well. She was taken in by someone nearby who waited to see if there would be a poster and they saw one and the important call was made. ( I do think there ought to be a campaign to let people who find lost dogs know they should inform dog warden and get the dog scanned, before I knew about Doglost I would have done the same thing). Welcome home Moppet so happy you are safe xx

This really is my patch but sadly I'm in France at the moment. I really recommend that the owners actually go down to Battersea Dog and Cats home to see if she is there, not just phone. I am sure that they check for microchips when dogs come in but mistakes can be made.

I have put up some posters in the Balham area near Emmanuel Road, my friend has a few for Lavender Hill and my other friend is going to put up a few round Clapham Commom (near the tube). Hopefully Moppet will be back by tomorrow but if not I will be able to take some more in the afternoon. Last edited: 2012-08-10 20:29:11 by reggiemollieros

Hi all, I've just spoken to Sarah and Moppet was lost from Alderbrook Road near Clapham South tube station. A small white dog matching her description has since been sighted by Wandsworth Common train station but the man wasn't able to catch her. She is walked on Wandsworth Common normally so it does seem to fit that she might have headed that way.... She loves balls and treats so both could be used to get closer to her if she is spotted. Am off to collect some posters from Sarah tonight and will be postering first thing tomorrow around that area and will chat to as many dog walkers on Wandsworth Common as possible. I think in London it is highly unlikely that a dog would be out for so long and so I think she has probably been taken in by somebody. Although with a tag on her collar and a microchip you would have thought there would have been news of her by now if that was the case... Hmmmm... anyway, hope this helps any other potential helpers.

I have sent a text to the 1st number above to try and find out whereabouts and offered to go look, I can get some posters up near the common in Balham where lots of dog walkers go - can do that early evening. When Mollie went missing overnight like this she (Streatham Hill) she was picked up by police as she was running across the main high road and they gave her to a woman who kept her overnight and called Battersea Lost Dog line so we got her back quite quickly. I will post on Streatham Hill Vets wall too.

I have no ink in my printer so can't print posters at the mo but if anyone can get some to me I will put them up all around SW18 and SW15. I live on the border between the two postcodes and am happy to help search in either.

Me too am nearby and happy to search if you contact me on lesley.white@tiscali.co.uk I will get the email on my phone.

Hi there, I live quite near SW12 and am happy to help with searching if somebody could give me more detail about exactly where she was lost from and if she has any favourite places to walk etc? Was it her home that she escaped from? Or could she be trying to make her way home somewhere? I can poster anywhere in the area but would be good to know roughly where to start. Pretty sure a dog in London won't go for long before being picked up by somebody, so I think posters are key! Let me know how I can help best....
