- Thanks for explaining LisaMell, sorry I missread your post. Thaanks also for your kind words and shareing.
You are right Bobble, Sally could be anywhere by now. - 2012-08-03 11:18 LisaMell
- Sorry all. Think I worded my post badly. I am not related to Sallys owner. My uncle is in the same situation with his beloved dog and I just known it would be unbearable to think of this happening to him. Really sorry for any confusion. I wish I lived closer to poster etc . Have facebooked but really wish i could do more. Sorry for any confusion and sending best thoughts and wishes to this gentleman. xxx

- Anyone reading this needs to print off and put up a poster - Sally was taken, so could be anywhere by now. We need to make her too hot to handle. It is difficult to know what other practical help to give. Lisamel, please let your uncle know that there are alot of people thinking of him and doing their best to help, keep in contact with Police and dog wardens about the country. Is there someone nearby who can go to the National Trust car park at Amesbury and poster there?

- This is so sad to read. Hope the rotten thieves are caught and Sally and the ferrets are back with their owners very soon. Calling on all doglost volunteers in this area to please help. Wish I lived closer x

- Daughter in law confirms Wiltshire Police are dealing with Sally and the ferret, the Rural Crime Team will no doubt be aware. Also that the local newspaper are to do a press release. I am not local to immediate area but will share with friends across the County. I have e-mailed the poster link to the Royal Artillery Hunt and to the Shrewton and District Womens Institute. I hope both are soon found safe.Last edited: 2012-08-01 21:50:01 by Lilybear

- Have we got any helpers in the area that can put up posters? If Sally's owner is elderly he obviously won't be able to do much on this score and to have his companion taken away from him must be absolutely devastating. I really feel for him and hope Sally is home soon xx

- I think this may be connected to another crime in the area, received this in an email today:
during the hours between 23.00hrs last night and 08.00hrs thismorning, we suffered a break-in into our back garden and a number of our ferretshave been stolen - we are both totally devasted. Five of our best ferrets havebeen taken and to top it off, two of them were family pets for our two boys.Nothing else appears to have been touched, whoever did this specificallytargeted the ferrets and nothing else. Our eldest boy will be so distraught whenwe have to break to him the news.... The police have been informed of the situation and our neighbours have beeninformed too
LisaMell, please can you speak to the police and ask them to link this to Sally being taken. The ferrets were stolen from Avon Valley Ferrets in Netheravon, Salisbury.
It would be worth talking to their owners and work together. - 2012-08-01 16:52 LisaMell
- This is so upsetting. My uncle is elderly and his dog is his constant companion. I feel so awful that someone has taken this poor dog ( and ferret ) away from this elderley gentleman. I am too far away to help but I am really praying that who ever has Sally has a pang of consiscience and lets her go. Would local TV help more with this case as it is a human interest and whoever has Sally might not realise the circumstances. Sending much hope for Sallys safe recovery.

- The lady who registered the found dog has just got back to me and as she recalls it was a young looking liver and white Springer.

- I know this might be a long shot but found dog 41705 is only 20 miles away. It says springer but hoping it might be wrong.

- This is an old mans dog who is very distressed...first contact number is his neighbour who is assisting. Have left message on owners phone to help get a photo or similar across to us.
