- Also confused Jayne. The alert was sent out on the 30th by LostDogs-Scotland.org.uk and another alert on the 30th to say the dog had been found/re-united. Sometimes when people cross post, it takes a while to filter through, so I assume that is what happened in this case.

- I hope the irresponsible owners have been given a dam good talking to and shown a picture of what can happen to a dog within only 10 mins of being shut in a car on a hot day, even with a window open. I assume someone removed the dog from the car and then took it to the police station. If that was the case, good on them!

- 4dog. You are right of course. I know the temperature in a locked car can be like a furnace in no time at all, especially in the summer months and can be dangerous for any animal, more so a young puppy I imagine. Anyway pleased you have Nellie back safe and sound.:-)xxx

- read in the paper today that this dog was left in the unlocked car on a reasonalby hot day. i do hope the owners realise what a mistake they made. the hospital visit was NOT an emergency and even if it had been there were three daughters that could have stayed with the dog had the owner not wanted to lock the car because she had an alarm on it. totally irresponsable. Also very lucky.
