Please don't mind me saying the RSPCA rang me today and they asked me a description of my dog but it wasn't mine there is a black dog on the queens road who was found dead and they said it was hit by a car and died worth having a look as the RSPCA will pick her up tomorrow. I know Keano has been missing for a while, but there was a report of a small black mongrel with a skin condition sighted on Lower Broughton Road, Salford on Friday on the Dogs in Salford Page:

Sadly Keano is still missing.

His owner was told that a dog was picked up last week which looked similar to Keano, they are going to MDH today to check the found dogs.

I sent LDCH a mail enquiring about the found on site, also sent the link to keano's DL page.
This is the reply i got:
"The terrier cross REF: 132 is a male but doesnt match the description on the poster we have. He doesnt have any white on his feet at all."

As AnnieSparky says, the animal wardens website does not give a lot of details...but they may be able to give you more detail over the phone (or email) or they will tell you where the dog has been taken....it may mean another trip to the dogs home (if that is where the dogs been taken) for you to see for yourself.

AnnieSparky - Mash took them another 30 posters yesterday along with 200 leaflets that he has printed off so there is plenty publicity materials there for the family to be making good use of - it's important to just get out and about and make everyone locally as aware as you can - whilst facebook is great for your own circle of friends, nothing beats pounding the pavements and raising as much awareness as possible locally - not everyone has access (or wants access!) to facebook so perhaps best not to rely on that as a way of spreading the word - poster power has proved it's worth time and time again! mgilleney you are doing really well....how are you doing for posters? I noticed on another dogs page a local printers donated some free posters. Maybe a local one to you could help you out there too?
I have emailed Keanos poster and details to a few places local to Cheetham Hill Road.
Hope you dont mind but last night emailed Manchester Dogs Home with Keanos details (tho am sure you have contacted them).....and they very kindly replied in acknowledgement. They sent the number of DW and their reception which I'm sure you already have (DW 0845 241 7253 and MDH reception 0161 205 7136).
Also wondered about the Manchester Evening News? You can email thru the website....or is it better to ask Nik D/L Publicist?

I have spoken to keano's owners today. They are doing a fantastic and are doing the right things to find him. They are putting posters up, keeping in contact with the DW, contacting vets ect.
I have given them some more advise and suggested over sites which they can put a missing Ad on.

I hope keano is home with his family very soon x

mgilleney, yes I am sure Keano's brother will be able to smell if it is Keano, dogs work very much off scent like I mentioned earlier. If he does this again let him lead the way, go with it and see where he leads you. It works both ways, his brother urinating in the area may also help Keano find his way home.

Just an update. Printed and took 50 posters to the owner today. Have printed a further 30 posters and 200 x A6 flyers. Meeting up with the owner tomorrow to give them over. If anyone is local to M8/Cheetham Hill area ,I am sure that the owner could do with a bit of help handing out the flyers and postering. Keano seems to be fairly local with the sightings at the moment and would be great to get him back before he wanders further away.

Just seen on FB group 'Missing Pets' https://www.facebook.com/groups/356975107680750/ that there have been two promising sightings of Keano (bumping his page). Owner is taking there other dog to the area this afternoon. I have pm'd the owner a few ideas on scenting and how to behave if they see Keano.

Mumstaxi has given them lots of the general advice via the above FB group.

If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held are up to date.
If you have not already done so contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, contact the Police.
