  • Other Info Has anyone here has lost an unchipped Border Collie in the Chester area in the last few months? A few weeks ago, I was driving on the A55 dual carriageway, crossing the River Dee. In the fast lane was an unconcious dog. I detoured and returned to the spot. Parked on the central reservation and carefully moved the poor chap to the central reservation, he was still alive. I wrapped him in my coat and loaded him into my people carrier and sped to the local vet. Alas, as we arrived, he could no longer hang

What a lovely deed for this person to help this poor dog; give yourself a pat on the back. Night, night, sweetheart, sleep tight, now in God1s care RIP. One day the people you knew will meet you at Rainbow Bridge.

I don't suppose this could be CHARLIE 36182 lost 12 Jan 2012? It is in similar area and he could have gone onto that road.

Yes, many thanks to the good samaritan for this act of kindness. Run free at the bridge, dear boy. Such a shame your owners didn't find you xx
Millys Mum
Poor boy - may he rest in peace. But, a huge thank you to the kind person (or people) who cared so much and made sure that this lad wasn't alone when he passed away. If you happen to read this, may your kind actions be rewarded. Thank you again.

I put a note on the forum thanking the lady for her kind actions doing what she did x

What a shame, poor boy. At least someone cared enough to stop and help him even if the outcome wasn't good.

RIP sweetheart, whoever you are xx

I found this info on a dog forum whilst looking for missing Ben. I do not know who reported it but hope that it may bring closure to someone if their dog is missing. Below is the info that was given.

Anyone lost a Border Collie in Chester?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone here has lost an unchipped Border Collie in the Chester area in the last few months?

A few weeks ago, I was driving on the A55 dual carriageway, crossing the River Dee.
In the fast lane was an unconcious dog.
I detoured and returned to the spot. Parked on the central reservation and carefully moved the poor chap to the central reservation, he was still alive.

I wrapped him in my coat and loaded him into my people carrier and sped to the local vet.
Alas, as we arrived, he could no longer hang on to life.

He was unchipped and had no collar, but at least had a more dignified end to his life than might have been.

Just in case the owner is reading this.....someone caring was with him when he died.

I dont own a dog anymore, but would plead for everyone to have their dog micro chipped in case something happens to them.
