Thanks so much. Have been searching the internet for any fox terriers or jack russells for sale/in rescue homes nationwide. Have e-mailed as many rescue centres / vets that I can find addresses of. Would be great if you could keep mentioning it to people you know, etc - just in case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul and Katy, you may need to start looking further afield. I hope that Patch's story has given you hope as I know they both went missing about the same time. Patch was found quite a distance from where she was taken and we think she passed through 4 homes before the was checked by the Vet. It may be worth getting a map and widening your search and asking people further away to start postering. I will start postering again up North.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks J Mo - we have already sent 2 x batches of letters around all the vets in the county (& the 3 neighbouring counties) to ask if they could scan any dogs that match Bob's description. A few of them have phoned since, to check whether he is still missing & to let us know they still have his poster up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Katy, Have you written to all the vets iny our area asking them to scan any Fix Terrier that come into their practice. It is worth a try.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear All, Thanks for the support - still after so long. No more news on Bob I'm afraid - checked out an ad. for a 2 year old smooth fox terrier for sale - but wasn't him. Still as upsetting & frustrating as the first day he went missing, but can't dwell too much - as it will drive me mad. Just wish a vet somewhere will scan him & realise something doesn't add up...KatyxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Paul and Katie, we haven't been in touch for ages and I'm sorry to see that Bob is still missing. I've put a new banner up for him on the LocalPetPeople.com site, which I hope people will pick up and use on their sites. I've linked it to my DogBasics page for Bob (http://www.dogbasics.co.uk/bob.html), so they can see more pictures of Bob. If you would rather the banner clicks straight through to the poster, just let me know. I read an article in a dog magazine yesterday about a stolen dog that was returned after 4 years, so please don't give up hope! Lots of love, thinking about you and Bob, Caroline / DogBasicsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul, Iknow how hard it is for you, but please dont give up on Bob, sometimes when you think your search is in vain, something just pops up out of the blue. Dogs are being found after 3 years, with all this new publicity Jayne is getting, more dogs are being found, and returned to their owners. I still keep his poster in my car, fox terriers are rare in my area, I will always look out for him until he is back with you both again. Keep strong, and positive. best wishes, Carolyn.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep checking Bob's page for any news. I was reading about the Staffie pup that has been reunited after 18 months because of a micrchip so don't give up hope. He is out there somewhere. Keep looking and postering. Ask Jayne to change the poster to read " still missing"Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Was pleased to find a sheet of posters while surfing the web at work one day, it was a page with bob showing off all his good sides front and back. sadly i did not save it, do you remember Paul and cathy. would really be worth putting the link somewhere in here, I am sure you would be allowed. still think of you all with great fondness, and the hope that Bob will show himself. it would be a year just over!! maybe someone will think about Vacs you never know, they may just scan, If you prompt the local vets again. It is a thought aye. xxx you could just e.mail the page I spoke of earlier.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the advise J Mo - at this stage we are losing all hope that we will find him now. I think it would be too distressing to begin postering all over again. Don't get me wrong - we would give anything to have him back, but I think it might be up to fate now. Here's hoping...xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul & Kathy I have just got back from dog club. A lady well known in the doggie world has spotted a black dog and one other at the back of her in Sundon Park where they live. One was a black collie type dog maybe sniff, the other was smaller but she could not make it out she just saw the eyes. She tried to get close but she said they were so muddy and thin that they ran off. She has several dogs of her own, and some have barked late at night. which she said is unusual! She is contacting the local Luton Dog Warden it may be worth following up. I just thought it could be Bob, maybe, as I still have not stopped trying for you guy's. It may be woth postering around again in that area, you never know. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more news I'm afraid - all has gone quiet now. Just wish we could get another positive sighting - it seems so long ago now since he went missing, our hopes are fading a bit. Sent out letters to all the vets in the surrounding 3 counties over xmas & had some replies to say they had checked their databases for a match - but haven't heard from all of them - at least it will keep him fresh in their minds. Still hoping... Paul & Katy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I do really hope that someone calls you with the news you so so want and deserve. I do not know many that have been so dedicated as owners as Katy and yourself, that you both should be blessed with good news. I am still keeping my eyes open and my ears to the ground for Bob and others in the area. The move did go well thank you still living out of the boxes!! I am going to poster Sewell a little village near me at the weekend, it has a track that runs down and across a really large dog walking area, covers standbridge, leighton buzzard, hockcliffe and more. you just never know. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been over several times trying to spot this elusive man and his dog. Eddie seems to be in the ideal spot to see him go past the shop, maybe if he passes again and it is a weekday when the owners are at work we could be alerted? Other than that guess it is another of these waiting games. Good luck with the house move doggie fairy, we are trying to sell at the moment too, so sometimes stuck here for house viewing. Katy and Paul do let us know if you have any more ideas.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Whippet - really appreciate your help - both myself & Paul are so greatful for everyone's help. Bob's breeder told us she had met Deborah at D.D - she was amazed at the support we have been given throughout this :) Eddie spotted a this mystery Fox terrier at 11:20am on a Saturday morning - please don't feel pressured to keep up the search - we totally understand that these efforts have to stop at some point :) Katy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to Eddie - she saw this dog being walked on Marsh road (outside the grooming shop / outside Blossom Garden Chinese takeaway). Not familiar with this - but will check it out at the weekend & put posters up everywhere (don't want to scare this guy off, but got to do something). Let's see what happens... Enjoy D.D ! Hamg in there Paul amnd Katy. I am sure that one of these days he will be found. I was pleased with finding the man with the Park Bins !! you never know aye right place right time. He knew all about Louis but not poor old Bob, I stuck a few posters up on tree's too of Bob, Chester and Jazz in Houghton Regis area leading up to both Dunstable and Luton. I will keep trying. We are going to have another search around Luton at the weekend - fingers crossed - it would be a little miracle if he turns up now after all this time :) Katy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Paul and Katy. aka cathy............sorry. x nothing this morning on what we spoke of last night! Have informed a friend from a large local supermarket ,who has kindly put the poster of Bob in the drivers office ,who carry out home deliveries in the area LU4 LU5. They often get the access into peoples homes it was just a thought today when I was speaing to him, they cover a long day in hours, better than the milkman in some ways. Anyway all hands on deck will speak tomo, will be back there in the morning early, and will pass by birdsfoot too. Thinking of you all. xx Come on Bob I am coming for you. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the advice CeeBee - We've been monitoring this traveller site & we've put posters up in the pub & the petrol station. A Dog warden has also been onto the site & has had a good look around & made the residents aware that Bob is missing. Katy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Paul & Katy, so sorry you haven't found Bob yet, but I hope he comes home to you soon. Just an idea, there is a pub just outside Barton on the Bedford road called Speed the Plough and just behind that is a T site. Looks like a permanent one. Wondered if anyone had checked it out, or given posters to the pub as it is likely to be frequented by the 'locals'.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We got a phone call from Eddie (dog lost helper) to say she had seen a man in his late 30's walking a white and tan Fox Terrier in the Sundon Park area of Luton near Leagrave / Marsh farm at 11:20am on Saturday morning. Of course we spent most of the weekend driving around the area - but did not see any dog of that description - so frustrating! If anyone lives in the area please keep a look out. Thanks Katy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Deborah, It would be great if you could put a few more posters up around Lilley. If you PM us with a contact address then we can get some sent out to you - no problem. We did poster Lilley very early on - as soon as Bob went missing, but I presume all of these have now been taken down or have fallen down. We're still phoning around the vets again to remind them that Bob is still missing, etc. Will do another round of Luton at the weekend - just on the off chance we might spot him! Hi Paul and cathy. Have you postered around Lilly. We went there today and could not believe how many bridleways and footpaths that lead down to where Bob first dissappeared. Sadly I had no more posters, If you could send some I would gladly poster on my next outing next week. Still thinking of you and just waiting to hear the good news!! it will come. We have sent a letter & poster to all vets & rescue centres that we could find listed in Herts, Beds, Bucks & Cambridgeshire (there are bound to be ones we've missed). We have started to phone vets again to remind them to check if they have registered any new Fox terriers in the last 3 months. Katy & Paul Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul and Katy, have you sent posters to all the RSPCA, PDSA hospitals and shops in the surroundiggn area where Bob went missing and all the local Vets asking them tp put the posters up in their receptions. It may help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

paul and cathy, please do not give up hope, Bob will be back soon. your posters are still attracting attention for example: I was parked in Tesco's Dunstable, while sitting having a cake Two people stopped and read your poster on my car, they stood for some time so I got out to speak to them, although they had no news (sadly) they really seemed to care about your plight!! and I know they are Two more people in the know!! if out walking one day (soon) to say god that is that bob. So please keep the faith. xxxxxx thinking of you as always. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You'd be surprised at the number of chipped dogs who come trundling back several months later. There was a rott recovered last month who had been stolen in February, and there was Sparky the papillon who had been gone for months when his chip was scanned by a vet when he was taken for treatment. Keep reminding people and keep checking the local pounds and also pounds who take dogs from you area. Fox terriers aren't all that common in comparison with some other breeds. I am inclined to agree with you that the next time someone sees him it will be at the end of a lead, and if that is so there is a fair chance that he will get scanned by a vet at some point.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news on Bob I'm afraid - we've reached the point where we're not really sure what to do next. Just praying that he will be scanned by someone - but chances are fairly slim. Hi Paul and Cathy. I walked and drove round lower sundon on Tuesday morning early, put up a few posters, I put one outside the little church ( hey they say the power of prayer)and at a few bus stops, ( that seems to be a place people stand and chat who do not drive and walk the village a lot) also Julie B vet at Barton while taking my cat there, I made sure the hunt for lovely little bob is still active. I also covered a few more hidden G sites I found in Hemel Hempstead and on the Redbourn road. also a few in Houghton Regis you never know the wider we spread the word aye. I so hope that the man walking a doggie phone call brings you a early xmas present!! I know we are getting closer to Bob's return it will happen just believe!! Hello, i went to upper sundon today and put more posters up there. While i was there i had a call from a lady who saw the ad in the paper. She said a man has been walking a dog similar to the one in the ad for the past few week in Birdsfoot lane, luton. I checked it out and put posters up in the windows of the 2 parades of shops and also one outside a school. I think this one was a bit of a long shot but i've covered it. I'll keep going back and have spoken to people in the area to keep an eye out. Will keep you posted as usual. Paul.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just a thought would it be worth dropping leaflets in to local estate agents. Biob maybe sheltering in the garden of an empty property, It was just a thought as I have been house hunting vacant properties, and some of the gardens have overgrown gardens. I was pleased to hear of the possible sighting; I will do some posters in Lower Suddon tomo and have a walk about late eve for you. Oh what joy if Bob popped out. Keep up the good work eveybody. Hi Katy and Paul, went up to the area by the Crown early this morning for forty minutes shouting Bobs name with my bitvh retriever in tow, hoping to tempt him,(she thought I'd lost my marbles) but didn't see him at all but willkeep trying. Please if you do go there this weekend, two things I would suggest is to take loads of posters as I could only see one in the whole village and also speak to the people on the tidy tip as they were busy and I could hear them from near the pub so speak to people there as well as stick some posters, especially on the bus shelter. Also across the fields how about postering Chalton village as this is the next one near by and even take a left after the church at the bottom of the hill and go into the outskirts of Luton in case he ambles that way. Keep spirits up, I'll keep eyes peeled. Sorry its not better news yetLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

With reference to Sophiesuds mail of a few days ago. I'd suggest you go to the pub just outside Barton, the Speed The Plough (on A6) Poster there. The pub is frequented by travellers I think. They have their own site just along the Pulloxhill road. I think if you go asking for help and offering a reward. Plenty of tears needed and pleading for help. Absolutely NO aggression. I have dealt in the past with travellers and discretion and emotion is the best route.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Sue :) - Paul has sent posters to you today. Thanks for the info Jackie - will look into the farm at Wingrave. Carolyn - will PM you re:saturday. Had another message from the clairvoyant lady - it reads as follows... '...the new images I got about this farm are white painted gates, a pair of wide gates and a small pedestrian gate at the side, and they are the kind with diagonal crosspiece which goes up into a curve at the top. Gravelled yard, low outhouse on the right, several trees/small copse on the left as you are facing the gates. Motorbike in yard. Outside not far away are phone kiosk and post box. The farm is on a fairly narrow road with a high bank on the other side. There is a main road some distance away which goes along a raised embankment. I hope you understand that there is no guarantee of accuracy, these are simply images which I get and all i will say is if that you locate a farm answering to this description it would be a good idea to ask if anyone has seen Bob around there...' Of course - this may not lead to anything, but if anyone thinks this place sounds familiar then perhaps we can put posters up in the area. Katy Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul and Katy, the windmill in Pitstone, is not too far away from a school, it is between Ivinghoe and Pitstone, ther is also a farm in Ivinghoe Aston, called Grove Farm, I used to keep my horses there, and they have a disused tennis court there, it is no longer a working farm, and they pulled the stables down to convert int barn conversions, I will go to grove farm today and ask and look around for you. And also scout around Ivinghoe, ther are alot of places Bob could hide, and this is not that far from Dunstable downs, he could of travelled to either Pitstone or Ivinghoe form there, will do my best, or if I have no luck, you are welcome to come to my farm at the weekend, and I will drive you there, it is 2 minutes from me, and I know Grove farm really well I was there for years. I f you do come to me can you bring a blanket of Bobs, or something with his smell on. And I will take one of my terriers with to look, we have to try, speak to you soon, Take care, CarolynLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Sophie, we went to both gypsy sites mentioned when it first happened but will go there again as the posters are probably down by now and it won't harm. We also went to the windmill place you mentioned and put posters up there last week, although we couldn't remember it had a windmill and got a shock when we drove there tonight covering old ground, so that was weird! Will definately investigate more and hand a few posters out there at the weekend. Thanks for that. J MO, thanks for phoning south beds regardless. I will look out for the milkmen, I haven't don that one. Cheers, Paul. PS Carolyn, I'll get some more posters done this week. Thanks again to all! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to South Beds District Council today regarding the travellers and they say they don't keep records because they don't move them on. Have you tried a local milkman. They usually will carry posters with them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a travellers site on the main A5 by the pub and Travelodge near the kensworth turning, think the pub is called the pig in hiding (not sure). Also a site in Pepperstock near Slip End by the pub again, called the Half Moon I think, directly behind the pub itself. Hope these help, the South Beds District Council cover both these areas and I am afraid the area that Bob went missing in. In respect of the clairvoyants visions the place near where Bob was lost is not too far away from a newly renovated watermill which looks like a windmill but is now open as a garden and craft centre, definetly worth postering there if you can. It is even in the town of Barton where Bob was lost originally. hope to go to the Sharpenhoe in the next week maybe will keep eyes peeled and as I have a bitch I will be taking with me hope to help if I can. Keep trying you will get him back I know you will.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

**Edited post to remove name of clairvoyant** Jackie Ann has asked a clairvoyant about Bob - this is what she said...'Picked up an image - he is still scuttling about but in a limited area as he has found somewhere he can hide and scavenge/steal some food. I can see tall trees, deciduous type and spreading, around some buildings, maybe a farm or stables, and not far away is an enclosed tennis court which may be disused, I can't tell. Bob according to my perception has a bit of a worm infestation, a few cuts and scratches but I don't pick up anything serious. I think it would be a good idea to poster any feed/agricultural stores. PS Another sudden and rather baffling image - a windmill. I am sure you don't have any around there which are functioning but could it be some kind of model or display, or even the name of somewhere on a board e.g. Windmill Farm, Windmill Hotel? I am also connecting Bob very strongly to children. Was this an image from his home or maybe some children have seen him?'There is a windmill in Leagrave (Luton) called Biscott Windmill that we will have a look at (worth a try). Let us know if anyone has any other ideas??Katy Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Deborah :) Have postered ouside the Redbourn site early on - but will do again. Where is the A5 one? We may have done this already aswell but will do again.. Have put posters up along the road leading to St Thomas' site - but these may have been taken down by now so will try postering again with reward, etc. Will also look into the Diamond Ad. re:JRT pups. There is a static site up St Thomas's Rd. There's some people there with JRTs. Just a thought. They have puppies advertised in, I think it used to be called Diamond Free Ads. With care please... just say you are looking to buy a leggy adult.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Consider that done Paul and Kathy. It may take a little while as I am away Sunday but wil try my best, will be up for sure; before the little peeps go back to school. I know we are quick to point fingers at the gypsies, but hey how many dogs do you know found on a camp, or house owned by!!! I can count on more than my fingers and toes. working in the dog field I speak to lots that feel the same as I do. The A5 camp would be a good start, they seem to know alot, also one going towards redbourn tuck away. Will also again ask my source to snoop around. Keep safe little bob you will be home soon. We do wonder whether Bob might be living on a gypsy site somewhere - we have put posters up around the local sites in the area, but there seems to be so many legal & illegal sites around. I contacted the local council to explain our situation & asked whether they have a 'gypsy liaison officer' - but they were immediately on the defensive & told me that travellers do not go around stealing & people have a very old fashioned attitude to what gypsies are like (a contrasting opinion to how the Police view travellers!). JMo - We would be greatful for any info of sites in the area - in case we've missed some. Deborah - Postering schools sounds like a good one aswell - we have put some at the entrance to the school in Barton (near where he went missing) - it would be great if you have time to poster the ones you have mentioned (thanks so much :) Carolyn - thanks again, will send out some more posters over the weekend. We put more posters up around the immediate area this week & we have also put a 10 line written ad in a local Cambridge paper (apparently quite a few traveller sites up that way too). Sorry, where does the white transit van fit in? If you suspect gypsies have you contacted the Council to find out which sites they use? They tend to go round in circles as they probably have kids in schools. Poster all around the areas where the gypsies have been. If you can't get details of there whereabouts, let me know, I work in Local Authority so may be bale to pull some stringsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will also check posters in and around Dunstable. just a thought, could we poster around the local schools? they do say out of the mouths of babes!! may make a parent think if bob is with a family. Let me know: I can do some of the schools in Houghton Regis, dunstable and Luton. Keep the faith Paul and family. x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul,I was being watched by a gypsey when I was putting bobs poster up at the bottom of Ivinghoe beacon, sorry I couldnt get his number plate, when I returned the next day, squeaks and bobs poster was gone, yes he was in a white transit van.... so why did he take them down ? has he got something to hide ? If possible please can I have some more posters, and I will go back, and put them up again !!! and again, and again.. and I wont stop putting them up. The poster I put up in Slapton is still there on the only bench there is, right on the T junction, and it stands out so well you cant miss it. Stay positive Paul and Katy, Bob is out there somewhere. Have you tried going over old ground, all the Vets, shops etc where you first put the posters up and checking that they are still there. Are there any Council Wardens/Park Attenders who cover this area, also friendly binmen, postmen, milkmen etc who are out and about each day that might spot him. I have contacted them before and they will usually help. Worth a try. I know he has been on Anglia TV, but have you contacted the local newspaper? Are there any housing estates near where he went missing? May be worth dropping posters in letter boxes at the houses nearby where he went missing and where he has been seen. Hope you find him soon. Sorry we haven't replied sooner - no internet access! Back up and running now though! Got a phone call from a lady who had picked up a jack russell near Dunstable Downs - she took it to Appledown. Unfortunately he wasn't Bob - and he could have been the one people had spotted there last weekend! Popped into Appledown today - the rescued Jack Russell is still there, no microchip & he had swollen feet from being on the move for days. He is short legged & wire haired, mainly white with light tan patches. Can't thank everyone enough for your help trying to find Bob this week - really hope all our efforts pay off! Can't help but think someone has him & doesn't want to give him up?? Paul & KatyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry got interrupted on previous messages and then 4yr old came along and sent them for me without knowing! Have you asked at Appledown Kennels Totternhoe as this is where the stray dogs in South Beds sometimes go. Also if you pop into the local council offices cash offices and ask them if you can display his poster there, as in the houghton regis one a lot of people from barton le clay visit to pay council tax etc being their nearest office and the lady there also lives in B-L-C herself. Visit Dunstable downs regularly will keep eyes peeled for youLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great News. Sorry don't know the area. Is this a park area or Local Authority area? If so, have you tried contacted the Local Authority Parks Warden. The one's in Salford are very helpful and work in the parks daily. Hopefully very soon I will tune into this page and Bob will be on the re-united side of the website. Live some food out in the area he has been spotted. Do you know what times of the day he has been spotted? If so, try and get over there at those times. Someone may have taken him in and be walking him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have had 2 more sightings since - both in Dunstable nr The Downs. Anyone in this area please keep a look out - both callers sounded genuine & they both said they tried to catch the dog but he ran off. We have sent out posters to every Vet & Kennels we could find listed in Bucks, Beds & Herts counties (there are bound to be ones we've missed - but so many kind people have offered to put posters up aswell, so I hope we have covered smoe of the other places we may not be aware of). We have also been regularly contacting various rescue centres where dogs from this area are taken (one is in Nottingham - which is no where near here!??) so it is very difficult to visit these in person. It is worrying that I have heard so many stories where microchipped dogs do not get scanned at these places (although I'm sure the majority of them ensure it is the first thing they do). The search goes on...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you tried looking further afield? It may be worth widening your search. Contact the Warden and try and trace where they send starys to. Go down and don't take their word for it if they say there are not Fox Terriers there, You will need to be persistent. Your Local Authority Website should give you details of where strays are sent to. If you let me know what your Local Authority is I will does some digging for you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there. I am so sorry to hear that Bob is still missing. I saw your super advert at the Pegsden walk near the live and let live pub. I walk over there often, and I must say I think of your little Bob, I even call and tell my dogs to go and find Bob. May I ask did you place a blue blanket to the side of the field? as I have Hounds and allowd them to sniff and sent early one morn, and tried again really late in the eve, as you may know these are the best times. I love walking the babies out at 5.30am it is so peaceful and I really hope that we meet Bob on our way!! what a lovely feeling that would be to return him to you.............. and It will happen, one day soon I am sure. Have you contacted any Fox Terrier Breeders, is there a Fox Terrier Rescue and have you tried the Dog World paper, which is based in the South East. If you want these details let me have your e-mail address and I will forward them or you can contact Bob's breeder who should have this info. There will be a column in the Dog World just on Fox Terriers and as they are a numerically small breed, then everyone tends to know what is going on. I know someone who had there Kerry Blue stolen and he was reunited 5 months later and had managed to get from liverpool to Wales and ended up in a boarding kennels who rang a breeder, who was aware of the miss ing dog and they were re-united. I am going to a show in a couple of weeks so will had out posters to the Fox Terrier people. You never know. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You're welcome Katy, I just hope Bob is found soon. My Luci was just 10 months old aswell when she went missing, I just hope you're not still looking 6 months later as I am. At least you've had some sightings which is great. We only had two sightings of Luci, and both of those were on the day she went missing. Yes Luci would be a travellers dream, we bred her and she was the fastest in the litter. And has a very keen hunting instinct, she once caught a pigeon in mid air! Her need to hunt was the reason I lost her in the first place. No I haven't been down to any traveller sites, to be honest I don't really know where they are and I hear they're pretty scary places to go. The police & dog wardens have her details. Luci's photo was taken on a raid of a site last week, but no joy I'm afraid. Very disappointing as I kinda got my hopes up. Thanks for keeping an eye out Luci, we of course shall keep searching for Bob. I have a good feeling about him, I'm sure he'll be home soon. I saw your ad in this weeks Herald & Post, I hope some news comes of it. Take care & good luck!..Sam x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We obviously were retracing where you've already been as we saw several posters for him along the way. We shall keep searching for him. Wishing you the best of luck...Take care, Sam x x (Luci 28.1.05)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the advise Eddie - we will re-poster Barton & will look at 4x4 track also. We've already postered vets & vet referral surgery - but will keep phoning around just in case. Ceebee - not sure where Barton Springs is - will investigate & put up some posters - thanks. No further news about the sightings, have postered all around the area so fingers crossed! Hi, good luck with the sightings. A friend of mine walked her dog at Barton Springs nearby and didn't see any posters there which is nearby, so if anyone is out that way, please put some up there. Fingers crossed he will be home soon xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Runfold-Eddie:
Olivers the Farm Machinery Engineers are at Tea Green, please ensure they have posters. Also, back to the Clappers, have you postered Barton? There is a Vets there and a Vet referral Surgery at Higham Gobion. There is a Pet shop in Barton and a Dog Groomer, (who knew nothing of Bobs disappearance). Have you also checked the 4x4 Devils Pit site on the other side of the A6 Barton Cutting? I groom dogs in Luton 4 days a week (Marsh Rd)and go up the cutting on my way there. BTW do leaflet all the houses in Streatley and down the bottom of the hill, in Sharpenhoe. Good Luck, EddieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have had 2 possible sightings in the Tea Green area (near Luton airport / Cockernhoe) by 2 different people! Both people saw a dog similar to Bob on his own near a farm in Tea Green - this was before they saw the posters. We have put posters up in the area & asked people in the area to keep an eye out. We will do a thorough search of the area at the weekend. Anyone in this area please keep an eye out! Thanks, KatyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi CeeBee, Thanks - that would be brilliant if you could put some posters up in the Flitwick area! We've done some of these villages & pubs in the area - but the more the better. We appreciate your help. Paul and Katy.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I live in Flitwick and wondered where you have put your posters. Have you sent any to the Pet shops at Flittvale (between Flitwick & Westoning) or Poplars, near Harlington & Toddington? A lot of dog owners in this area may walk at Sharpenhoe... If you haven't done this area, please let me know and I will try to put some up for you. I will also put some up in the dog-walking areas in Flitwick. I do hope you find Bob soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Katy don't be too disheartened by the hoax calls - it means your posters are being seen, read and are working - let the calls wash over you... hopefully it won't be long before the right call comes along. Stay strong and keep postering.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the advise - we went back again to where he went missing today with some friends & their dogs - no joy! It really is frustrating - we have no clue where he has gone. Had a couple of hoax calls today aswell which really doesn't help matters - some people are so heartless! Will continue to poster - anyone in the area please keep on the look out - he's out there somewhere :) Thanks, Katy (Bob's mum!) Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you tried contacting all the local boarding kennels, pet shops, etc and put posters up. Is there a local free paper and may carry the story or a local radio station. Don't give up and keep postering everywhere. Would he react to another dog? If so, can you take someone with you with a dog that would bark to get his attention. He may react. thanks justine, he's quite noisy and if distressed, I'm sure he'd bark or yelp. I'll try going first light again just in case. cheers, Paul.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, so sorry that you still have not got Bob,I am so sure that he is still in the area but he is a young puppy and may well have got stuck! If he was stuck would he bark? Fox terriers are very rare but are also known for straying when they get a good scent. Maybe worth putting up posters further afield and also contacting as many rescues as you can. However I still think he is in the same area! Try going there at first light. Good luck. JustineLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Paul, I know I keep saying it but it really is early days... Keep postering - try the newspapers too in your area... keep putting the word about. Now you're on email start an email chain with Bob's poster in, get everyone in your email address book looking for Bob, get them to pass the email on and keep it going... Come on local helpers we need more posters!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes we have put his blanket down roughly where he went missing The area is in fact woodland and have been looking both day and night. There are rabbit holes around but not big enough for him to fall down into. We have also cheked with local farmers for any sightings but with no joy. I think we have exhausted all avenues, all we can do is keep looking and hope. Thanks againLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you tried a scent trail or putting some of his bedding down and waiting? Terriers have a very good sense of smell and may be attracted by the smell of home. He is probably getting bored now and wanting to go home. Was he lost in woodland or farm land? Have you tried looking at night and moving some of the undergrowth for rabbit holes. He may be stuck down a hole and you may be able to hear him and get a farmer to retrive him with a digger. Good luck Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not a common dog so should stick out like a saw thumb! Fox terriers are known to go walk abouts and spend days trying to get there prey, is most likely still in the area you last saw him. Most likely he is still in a rabbit hole or a fox hole. There are babies around at the moment and Bob could be making a meal of them. Fox terriers are hunters! If Bob has a dog friend then take this dog to the area. I am sure you will find Bob in this same area. Poster the area whare he went missing. JustineLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
