This dog was abandoned on Capel Crescent Pillgwenlly, Newport, by the nursery. Does anyone knows whose dog this is?
He has been collected by the police and taken to Summerhill Vets. Thank you to the group of residents who helped him also to the 2 officers who carefully put him in their van. People were openly crying at the state of this poor lad. He didn't get like that overnight, so someone left him to suffer appallingly before discarding him like an old shoe. Even though he was obviously in a lot of pain, and hungry he was still very trusting to the people who were helping him. I really hope whoever it is gets the punishment they so richly deserve.
I have phoned Summerhill and he is resting, warm and calm. They are going to treat his skin problem and his emaciation. I was unable to get any more information than that, but he is safe and warm.
Regarding earlier update - he is still at Summerhill, the RSPCA have been informed, he is now being treated with intravenous antibiotics to clear up his infected skin and he is comfortable.
Summerhill has had a lot of offers for donations to help with his care and treatment.
Anyone who knows the name of the 'owner' of this dog can contact Gwent Police on 101

Thanks for checking skippy. I was beginning to think the same thing after Scoobster alerted me to the DDB at Leigh, such a shame its not Beau :(
I emailed Beau's poster across to Leigh - they agreed that the markings on the two dogs appeared very similar and they contacted Beau's owners. Sadly, Beau is much younger then the Dogue in Leigh, so unfortunately not him. x
There is a DDB in Leigh Cats and Dogs home in very poor condition picked up in the Leigh area. It has white on it's toes and chest, although the chest markings aren't clear.

I will email Leigh to see if they have any more information and whether this poor boy could be Beau. x

Sounds silly, but on the posters have you put in brackets how the name Beau is pronounced? I believe this helped people this way identify a dog recently. Hope you find him. X
Thank you lauren, i was just going to post - I have asked for him to be put back into the red :)

Sorry, I think my message was misread. The cross breed found had been reunited with his owner. Beau is still missing unfortunately.
so was Beau the one on animal wardens site? is it confirmed...just wondered?Last edited: 2011-11-14 10:38:30 by Shereen

I have just spoken to laurenb about Beau, she said that they have a six foot fence around the garden and the gate is padlocked and no way for Beau to get out, they also found his collar in the garden, he went missing between 6.30pm and 9pm. He's got a condition that needs medical attention!!
They have contacted the Dog Warden, vets, Leigh Cats & Dogs Home, chip company and the Police.
I have given them some advice and will send out futher advice and info
