I've just spoken to the owner. Unfortunately Gucci is still missing. I suggested contacting the News Shopper, carrying on postering and looking at the free ads in case someone has her and is going to try to sell her. The owner is going to contact Battersea again tomorrow and go up to look for her dog. Best of luck, hope this lovely dog is home soon.Last edited: 2011-05-31 18:51:05 by Baggy Dog

I have only just got back from a weekend away, was hoping this girl had been found :(

I am around the Kent house area alot so will keep my eyes open, though I drove through there earlier and have not seen any posters yet.

Maybe she is home, let's hope eh

lf2000 - I really don't know anything about this 'found' Rottie in Shirley i.e. age, gender, docked/full tail, spayed/neutered, etc as only Gucci's family will have this info. I'm rather hoping that Gucci has now been found as haven't heard back from owners since text received from owner on Saturday evening. I sent a text this afternoon asking for an update but, so far, no news and so perhaps she's back home. Gucci's family - can you update us please.Last edited: 2011-05-30 17:30:11 by Millys Mum

not too sure about distance but could this found one be ZARA 29692 maybe??????? she was lost in the north east and i know Croydon area is more south but wonder if it might be worth a try.... ???
Millys Mum
Oh damn! I texted owners for an update but sadly it wasn't Gucci (now wondering who the found dog in Shirley belongs to and whether the finders have contacted the DW). I have asked Gucci's owner to update Gucci's DL page and have offered further help, advice & contact numbers. Owner will call me tomorrow (am out from early lunchtime until late afternoon) but hoping Gucci will be found before then. GUCCI'S OWNERS - if you are reading this PLEASE poster like mad in the meantime and hand out as many mini-flyers as possible (can you confirm that you have received these). The mini-flyers can just be printed in black & white but preferably onto brightly coloured paper if possible. That way when someone spots Gucci or hears of someone who has recently acquired a 'new' Rottie girl, they will have your contact numbers to hand, rather than having to return to one of the main posters. I have also left a message with the local holding kennels but may not get a reply until after the Bank Holiday unless one of our co-ordinators have any useful contacts who they might be able to call...

fingers crossed that this is Gucci xx

Millys Mum, keeping everything crossed it is Gucci. Wishing her family lots of good luck. Jan x

I've just had a call from Gucci's owner to say that they have received a call from a woman who saw one of Gucci's missing posters and says that she has found Gucci. The family are on their way now to an address in Shirley (Croydon area) which is a fair distance from where Gucci went missing. And so fingers crossed it's her. I have asked owners to give me a call once (hopefully) they are reunited and home with Gucci.

Thank you Millys Mum. You will be much more of a help than me as I have no local knowledge.
Millys Mum
Have spoken to a member of Gucci's family to offer advice and local contact numbers. They have my landline number if they wish to call me. I have advised them to get as many posters up as possible (they have put up approx 30 posters so far but I have advised that they try to get nearer to 100 to make sure that Gucci is the best known and hottest girl in town). Have also explained about the '7 day rule'. They have spoken to Battersea but have stressed the importance of visiting there in person.

She looks a bit timid here so might not be the sort to wander up to just anyone.Last edited: 2011-05-28 14:07:46 by lf2000

Flyers made up and emailed to owner along with general info.

Sorry to see that GUCCI is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (30041)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
