So glad for the call this morning........once the posters went out the calls came in and we knew he was local. well done to everyone, i am sure that Tagen walking the other dogs and shouting his name helped - bet he is a happy dog today :)
DogLostAngus
I am so happy for Taygen, just spoken to her Shep is fine - he has picked up a few visitors on his travels and will be up to the vets for a check up later on but he is clingy and happy to be home, Taygen has offered to support us locally with some new equipment which we have chatted about and will become part of the ever expanding North Bucks & Beds Team who are a great support to each other at times like this, Posters will be removed over the next few days and owners are active in their area trying to help other owners with dog socialization group that meets every night - I have asked Taygen to post some details on site here about the group Last edited: 2011-05-25 08:15:37 by Angus

hi i was just wondering, is there anything we can do for dog lost as a thank youfor all the voleenteers help, time and efforts, i am working on the basis that had animal control found him they would have charged me minimum £60.00 if i was lucky, so maybe i could put towards a new trap or anything, please do let me know how me and shep can thank you.
Rachel - Bucks volunteer

Hi all, after camping out, SHEP HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMITMENT, TIME AND EFFORT
Rachel - Bucks volunteer
Been out and about but no sightings from me. Well done on the postering - I'll try and get some done tomorrow & in plastic wallets. Jaymie, please poster the bus stops and poo bins around the areas he's been seen in. I know it's a hard slog but it will be worth it. People are around these areas a lot and will keep an eye out. Don't worry about you not feeding him - he will have plenty of food and water from shops, rivers, lakes & other sources. You're doing great - just keep it up. Never give up hope. The MK team is strong and has a good record, we just need you to keep at it too. I'll have another scout around tomorrow. He is obviously now very confused but in the right place to be picked up. Stay safe Shep - you're nearly there. x
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Sorry if this has already been suggested, but how about a portable barbecue in the area of the sightings with some nice smelly sausages? If you're not up to it in the early hours could try doing it at dusk - these are the most likely times for him to be moving around.
cookie
just got home we had no sightings, but spoke to a few people who have seen him early hours of the morning in the area he went missing from so he is staying in the area, taygen is staying in area over night with her dogs,x

DogLostAngus
Just had a call from Jaymie to say that he is back on the Lakes Estate - the people who were looking after him have seen him and are following - Jaymie is getting a cab there now so maybe hold fire on searching Walnut Tree tonight as this sighting may have been another loose dog or he could be covering a huge area and crossing dual carriageways and rail lines to get between in that time, please stay safe SHEP
cookie
thanks bertie,i dont know area very well as from bedford so will leave the navigation to taygen maybe see you later.
Berties Family
i can meet up too if you want - text me too.....we could meet at the shops on Walnut tree but let me know which ones - there are two lots

jaymie if you need someone to drive you round tonight i can come over and pick you up and help for a couple of hours, call me on 07905 355198.gill.
DogLostAngus
Vicky - if you see him again please try and make yourself small and offer him food - he will be frightened and may not come if called.
vicky
I just got back from shop and couldn't see him even called for him but nothing if i see him again i shall try get him
DogLostAngus
Thanks Lisa - if you were driving it would be about 3 miles - knowing our other recent missing dogs he will most likely be using the redways which are cycle tracks all around milton keynes and this would be a virtually straight route along one road to have got to where he was sighted earlier today
Lisa123
Walnut tree is quite away out from Coffee Hall isnt it if he was spotted there yesterday (I can only go by the maps as I'm in Nottingham) Can you get a friend to take you later?
DogLostAngus
This is really close to me but Im at work grrrrr - road is FYFIELD BARROW and this runs right past the Walnut Tree High School & MK Vet Practice & Blackberry Health ClinicLast edited: 2011-05-24 14:07:26 by Angus

the new animal wardens as our dog wardens post was removed, they are rubbish, they dont do what they should do, but without a smaller location they wont bother coming out, i have been phoning them everyday twice a day to double check they aint heard, seen or picked him up
Taygen - Area Volunteer, Milton Keynes
if you do see him, can u try and herd him into a garden or something simular, probly the best way to catch him now
Lisa123
Would it be worth you calling the dog warden jaymie? Are they very helpful in your area?
Taygen - Area Volunteer, Milton Keynes
do you have rough idea of road names or landmarks he was nearby vicky???
vicky
I don't drive myself i have to go over to walnut tree shop soon so i shall keep my eyes open for him an try see if he will come to me
Taygen - Area Volunteer, Milton Keynes
hi, im no sure how to get there, i have no transport is anyone else able to go and have a look, or pick me up to have a look???????, thanks vicky
vicky
Hi i think i just saw your dog wavendon gate it then headed over the bridge near my house into walnut tree i couldnt remember the name so i can't say it defo was your dog but had white patch on chest an it wouldn't come to me hope this may help you find your dog
Taygen - Area Volunteer, Milton Keynes
hi, contacted, all te viets i know of in the area particulary as he was running down main roads, and have been contacting animal control everyday, plus forest lodge, but to avail, and if he went to any of these place he would be scanned im sure, especially the animal control and forest lodge cos they are quite blood thirsty for the money they will get for collecting him, no conpassion at all. when on of my puppys went missing from his home due to a fire on the property it took me a day to get him released for free as someone had deliberaritly set the fire and it was a crime, they wanted onwers to pay for damage and pay for the dog to be released and did not care that it a natural act for the dog to run, or that it wasent an act of irreisponsible ownership. they have no hearts sometimes
Berties Family
Jaymie, just keep on putting up posters everywhere, print off your phone number and give it to people you meet who are walking dogs then more ground will be covered, dog walkers are so friendly, got to places like the kebab vans and shops and leave posters there - have you contacted any vets???
can you also contact the dog warden if you havent already....Last edited: 2011-05-24 09:18:38 by Berties Family

hi again, both me, a friend and 2 of sheps canine friends searched Furzton lake, the industiral estate, and coffee hall untill 3.30am this morning, not a dicky bird anywhere, but just trying to think of water sources now as he has been without a proper meal and water for nearly 5 days now, was hpoing the lake would provide food and water down there with the pubs serving food and the lake as a water source, i must admit this game of hide and seek is more heart renching by the day, and i am becoming very disheartened now, i know i shoudnt but im beggining to run out of proactive things i can do, which therefore makes it sink in better, kinda been on auto pilot initially, but not anymore........

Ohhhhhhh a sighting... Such a lovely dog to be lost.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Hi Jaymie. If you put the posters in plastic A4 wallets (I think they're called punched pockets) that will protect them from the weather. You can pick them up quite cheaply from most supermarkets. But hopefully your beautiful boy will give himself up and you won't need them!

BUMPED due to sighting this morning
Berties Family
will have another drive around shortly - will head over to coffee hall and see if we can see the lad - one of my mums dogs was lost coffee hall area a few years ago and we were surprised at how much green area there was hopefully he will keep away from the roads - i will also leave a bit earlier for work tomorrow
please still text with any sightings
Taygen - Area Volunteer, Milton Keynes
Hi apparently he was seen on the coffee hall estate at 9.30 this morning, on st dunstuns, not entirely sure of how accurate this is as i would have expected him home, tired and hungry but maybe he got scared away again for whatever reason, have flyered in neitherfeild, bean hill, coffee hall, and eaglstone, i hope its enough, i do have more leaflets to hand, they are only in black and white, cant get colour at the moment, but sods law its now started raining, so mayt need to repeat tommorow.

hi, i am sheps owner, i just want to thank you for your ongoing support, and thank you very much for ur time and efforts, shp still isnt hme but fresh sighting are now raising my hopes, he is a very scared little boy and obviously very lost wothout me, he is really a one person sort of dog but he is awesome, its such a shame he dosent feel able to trust anyone else in his hour of need but i thank you for your persistance, i have 200 posterd being msade first thing in the morning and will be hitting, coffee hall, bean hill, neitherfrild and eaglestone, if anyone would like a few posters please let me know, i dont have any transport which is a hinderance, but would be able to meet up and pass some over, i will be leaving about 10am after leaflets are done, my telephone number is 07947586141 if there is interest in posters, thanks again, with shep being so scared unfortunately persistance is whats going to prevale in this case as he will be hard for anyone to catch if he doesnt know the person.
DogLostAngus
2 possible sightings of Shep today - one following a dog walker on Netherfield and just now a text message to owners that he has possibly been seen near the Hospital on the Netherfield side (just need him to stay off the A421 )
Berties Family
got back from driving - went alongside A5, round Asda and around Beanhill - spoke to some dog walkers and advised he was missing - will await sightings, i have really playfull and friendly dogs so no worries about him running up to us, will pass the word about. Will print posters tomorrowLast edited: 2011-05-22 20:44:31 by Berties Family

Has anyone been to check the with the train station? If he was running down the A5 the trainline runs along side there. I can go out looking tomorrow with some of the calmer dogs I walk. Can go down by Furzton lake too and poster as not too far from Coffee Hall
DogLostAngus
Thanks Berties family as yet there have been no further sightings call in about Shep but until the posters start to go up people may not associate a loose dog with one that may be missing, owners say that Shep will charge towards other dogs but he does not follow anything through, he is only 7 months old so is still very playful so please take good steady stooge dogs if you are walking the area
Berties Family
hi just seen this please post any sightings and I can go check very very local to mk6 - would be able to take dogs out too - was away from area yesterday and not been out much today but will take a drive round this evening and can go out at 8am tomorrow before work
Lisa123
Have lots of fingers and paws crossed here that this gorgeous boy is safe and home soon x Too far away to help I'm afraid.

Rachel and I had a good walk around this morning - we walked a full circuit of Beanhill and then under the road and around Coffee Hall - there is so much green space on both the estates and so many narrow paths that a dog could travel un noticed, as Rachel mentioned loads of dog walkers out so posters are now vital & will hopefully bring in some calls about Shep. I also think that all the verges on the outer edges of the estate need to be thoroughly checked just incase Shep has been injured and is in the undergrowth, a mammoth task but need sto be done, Cartwright Landscapes look after the verges so I would recoomend that owners make a call to their office on Monday and ask workers in the area to be aware of Shep
Rachel - Bucks volunteer
No sighting this morning. Lots of dog walkers though, so please get the area postered today to give him a better chance. I'll go out again in a while.
Rachel - Bucks volunteer
He's done so well to get this far on his own - he's nearly home. Come on Shep - you can do it. Dad's waiting to give you the biggest hug of your life. xx
DogLostAngus
Some of us meeting at 6 am in morning - if anyone else wants to come and help with steady reliable dogs please email me doglostbucks@ymail.com - I will check emails at 5.30am and give meeting point then
Rachel - Bucks volunteer
Poor love - he'll be terrified but at least is going in the right direction. Not ideal for him to be in the stadium area - too many people. But hopefully he will keep going in the right direction. Can't join you tonight but happy to go out first thing tomorrow if you still don't have him. I hope this lovely little boy gets home tonight without any more traumas. xx
DogLostAngus
Just got back in - roped Hubby in in his car too, had a good drive around - lots of pathways between the houses where he could dart off very quickly , recommended postering heavily and around the McDonalds and KFC at the nearby MK Dons football stadium , also noticed a chip shop with plenty of overflowing bins so getting food should be ok, just hope that he stays off the grid roads - he is very close to home if he can find his way home = will be back out again later
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
So pleased you are helping owner Angus, been worried about poor Shep since seeing him on DL. I did crop his photo/s earlier to bring him close. Keeping everything crossed Shep is found soon. Good luck. Jan x
DogLostAngus
Ok - clear in my mind of the location now - he was running in a blind panic down the middle of the A5 from the Lakes estate MK2 - towards Bean Hill area which is MK6 and on his route home towards coffee hall - The police were pursuing him as this is the main artery road and very busy but lost him at the Redmoor Roundabout turning in to Bean Hill

He is scared of men so please observe and call owners with any sightings - off out now to see if I can see anything Last edited: 2011-05-21 19:44:17 by Angus
