Jenni S
Just checking by on Chunk and still hoping for some good news.
Jenni S
Still keep checking on this lad's page. Hope there's some good news soon.
Jenni S
Sorry to see there's no news of Chunk but we'll still keep looking.
Lisa123
Still been looking but absolutely nothing I'm afraid.
Lisa123
Ok, just got back from town and went through Carsic. I think you need to be looking Carsic lane end (Sutton end) for Chunk as your posters have been ripped out of their covers. There is one left on a telegraph pole which looks like someone has tried to tear it off but failed. The one near the oval (shops) on the bus stop is in tact!!!!!!
stoutiboy
yes have contacted all local vets it took three of us lol, there were 110 all together. and yes he looks like that now unless hes been shaven to look different xxx thanks for your help xxx
Jo Clayton
Hi there, really sorry to hear little Chunk is missing. I am in Kirkby Woodhouse. Will print a poster etc and do what I can to help. Will gladly scout around the Carsic area too. I take it you've contacted Thompsons vets on Alfreton road in Sutton? What about local taxi drivers? Is the pic what Chunk looks like now? Jo

Sadly there are some sickos out there. I had a couple of crank calls from young males - one in the middle of the night - when I was helping my friend search for her lost dog. Don't know what they get out of it; they're just pathetic. Friend's dog was found safe and well, and hope the same can soon be said of Chunk. We're still looking out for him from our stables.

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news.
Lisa123
That seem's a strange thing to say as a prank call! Lets hope he contacts you again. Have you thought about going door to door with small printed notes and including the reward for Chunks return? I know it is a big estate but I would be happy to meet up with you and help.
stoutiboy
I just keep driving through carsic in the hope of seeing him and am going to put loads of posters up there continuosly. xxx
stoutiboy
hiya, i went back to carsic and only a couple of posters were still up so i put loads up on lots of lamposts, and next to the park and everywhere on bus stops and next to the brierley park entrance. we had a phonecall last night from what sounded like a young male teenager. He said that chunk was in carsic, in a house being treated badly and as he said it the phone cut off like his battery had gone but couldnt ring back as he blocked his number. So if it is genuine i hope he rings back. i will have to put it down to a prank otherwise :-( i hope chunk isnt being treated badly xxx
Lisa123
Been through Carsic on the bus this afternoon (around the oval) but didnt see any posters!! Wondering if someone has taken them down?
Lisa123
Taken a walk around but nothing I'm afraid :O(
stoutiboy
hes only 7 months old. bless him. xxx
Lisa123
I will take a walk over there too over the weekend, I know exactly where you mean. I will take my phone with me so if I see anything I can call you. Absolutely no need to thank me :o) I will keep looking for as long as it takes x How old is Chunk?
stoutiboy
May we also say, that there are some brilliant and good people out there too, and you are one of the few. Thankyou so much for your help xxx
stoutiboy
we ve looked on there three times after we were told and no sign of him. But hopefully will take him back tomorrow as the kids are off school again xxx
stoutiboy
there was a possible sighting on the land next to where the oval pub used to be in carsic. there is a park there and apparently it was definatly him, and there were lots of kids chasing him around the park trying to catch him but playing. Poor Chunk :-( the lady said shes pretty sure it was him. Maybe it was, Maybe it wasnt... i will be going to check if there are any kids playing on there tomorrow. Hopefully there he ll be and it dont rain. I will put some posters up all around there too. Tahnkyou xxx
Lisa123
More posters up today :o) on lamp posts and phone poles and bus stops leading from Stanton to Skegby. One in Skegby post office window and also one down at Skegby trail which is a popular doggie place so hopefully people who see it will spread the word. I will do some more tomorrow heading through Carsic way and towards Brieley Park. x
stoutiboy
ok, thankyou, i am going to get out there and put up as many as i can where i havent been yet. I have also aimed near dubious streets lol. Thankyou so much, its been nearly a week now so i hope hes back soon from or efforts xxx we miss him xxx
Lisa123
Ok, I have to work today but will be free tomorrow and Thursday so will get some more postering done. I have put one in the community shop, the pet shop and also in the charity shop which is right opposite 2 dubious streets!!!!!!!! in Stanton Hill. I will head up to Skegby tomorrow and then over to the Carsic Estate.
stoutiboy
Thankyou again everyone, you are all brilliant. We really appreciate it, and hopefully it wont be too long now before his grand return!
I have rang Park Hall vets but bot Margaret Wharmby vets, so will give them a call tomorrow. We have posted in sutton-sundial, outside wilkos, on a lampost outside wetherspoons, in card factory, the indoor market, butchers, phone shop, and in idlewells on the notice board. We gave one to the bodycar staff for staffroom as they werent allowed to put it up but said they d spread the word through the staffroom and their friends etc. We have posted in kirkby in ashfield in Londis, Denbur foods, and tesco express. We have postered in the new big pet shop that used to be a pub, and the pet shop and vets on outram street in sutton. We have them in our cars and friends cars, and they are in the local chipshop, post office, bus stop, phone box, market pub, and the peacock pub. Also several green electric boxes and lamposts on the main road up to where we live. There should also be one in the woodend pub, and i chose three popular streets in our area. Also posted every door on our cul de sac and the street going all the way round the back of it. Been trying our best but we still going to go and do more every single day until his safe return. Cant wait for that day!!! THANKYOU AGAIN EVERYONE! PLEASE KEEP IT GOING XXXXXXX
Lisa123
Where have you postered stoutiboy?
stoutiboy
Thanks for all your support we are very grateful we will be ringing all the local vets up today to report him I hope someone finds him we miss him so much xx
Asharlo
Sorry to hear Chunk is missing. He looks a lovely boy. Have you also put up posters at Margaret Wharmby vets in Mansfield Woodhouse, or McPhearsons in Rainworth. These are popular vets.
I would also recommend a few posters at the food bars located around Blidworth Woods. They are usually very popular with dog walkers from around the local areas and might just catch someones eye. Chunk looks quite distinctive and would definatly notice him if I saw him.
good luck xxx
Jackie

Lisa123
Thank you. I will ask around and have a word in a few ears :0)stoutiboy I would get a poster down to Shannon Lodge vets 15-17 Kirkby Folly Rd Sutton-In-Ashfield if you haven't already and the one on Outram Street also the Council offices in Sutton as people go there for their poop bags.

I ask as NG17 covers quite a few places Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Huthwaite, Stanton Hill, Skegby it covers quite a large area. If we can find out more detail I can start asking around and get some leaflets made up. I can't print posters at the moment. Shannon Lodge is a very popular vets in this area so they are worth contacting.Last edited: 2011-02-18 18:41:33 by Lisa123

Think NG17 is Sutton in Ashfield.

What area/town is Chunk missing from?
