lurcherlouts
there is a lurcher who looks rather like this one at Whitehouse Kennels and Cattery, Lympsham , Somerset in the rescue section was found as an extremely skinny stray

There is a light coloured lurcher type with sandy ears on the stray aid page. I'm not convinced it's a match for Frosty, but it's not in the best of condition, so might be worth someone who knows him taking a look:

Just had this update from a friend after sharing Joe's details (another lurcher)stolen from another rescue kennels in Burford .'a friend caught someone coursing on their land at the weekend who, in their haste to leave left their poor dog behind. That was a Lurcher which has been picked up by the dog warden??? This was in the Coombe area, Oxfordshire.

Very similar looking dog just arrived in Aspen Valley Kennels as a stray. Please look here: http://rescuecentral.webs.com/apps/photos/ under dogs needing homes, they've called him Lex. I know it's a way away as it's Oswaldtwistle East Lancs but especially with him being stolen it's worth a check. Hope he's safely back soon.xxx

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news.

Maybe it's because he is a lurcher, look how many get stolen each year, it's very sad, hope we can get him back.

Just looked on the dog's trust website as there is quite a bit of info about Frosty and the break in, apparently he was taken in 3 weeks ago as a stray. I hope he's safe wherever he is!

Not the first time a dog in rescue has been targetted!!!
natalie
If this dog has been stolen from the dog's trust kennels then surely the chances are somebody knew he was here, perhaps a previous owner( was the dog in a cruelty investigation/taken from his owners etc) or has somebody recently been to see him at the kennels and been refused adoption? I just think it's a bit strange that somebody would target his specifically.

Sorry to see that FROSTY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27238)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
