Welcome home little cutie. Goodness knows what you have been through, but just so glad you are home and safely in the arms of your loving family. Lots of cuddles for you, I am certain. Hope Santa has been good to you. xx
Deanne
Hi everyone - thanks so much for your lovely comments! We still can't believe we have our baby home. The children's prayers have been answered (and mine!). It appears Doodle was "dumped" outside a pub 5 days after he went missing, in a rather sorry state - smelling of diesel, filthy dirty and thin. Luckily a kind lady picked him up, took him home and looked after him for us! She took him to the local vet for a check-up and told her his story - luckily I sent the vet his poster and she recognised him. A few 'phone calls later and here we are! The most annoying thing is that he wasn't micro-chipped, if he had been we would have been re-united on 13th December! A trip to our vets is due after Christmas for sure! Doodle is now sleeping peacefully in his bed where he belongs. Thanks so much to the DogLost team who work tirelessly and certainly pointed me the right direction at my lowest ebb. I'm now going to start celebrating Christmas with my family and our dogs! Thanks to everyone, especially "Dinkydoodle", "Reynard", Spindle" and of course "Jayne". A last note to "kiwikaz" - never give up hope, no matter how hopeless it all seems. Good luck. x

What a lovely Christmas present for the children, they look over the moon to have their little friend back on Christmas Eve, Doodle is going to be 1 spoilt puppy tomorrow! Welcome home little man and stay safe.x.

Deanne
Just recived a 'phone call from a Vet in Martock, Somerset approx. 20 miles from us who has just received a poster from one of my many mailouts, and is convinced she has had Doodle in her Surgery. She gave me the number of the lady who brought him in for a check-up after findng him "dumped" outside the local pub on 13th December. Have spoken to said lady who is 100% sure it is Doodle! We can't believe it and are off the see him 11.30 this morning! Everything crossed!! Will update later! Deanne (owner).
dinkydoodle
Great work Deanne, like I've said to you before, you are doing brilliantly at publicising Doodle's disappearance, keep up the good work and stay positive. Really wish I was closer to give you more support.x.
Deanne
Doodle is also shown as "Missing" on the "free-ads" site with a photo. Come on... someone knows something!! Spoken to very helpful Travellers Liason Office from Devon Council and also one from both South Dorset Council and Dorset Council. All have Doodle's details.
Deanne
Have spoken to every dog warden in Devon, Somerset and Dorset and left details (yes, hours of 'phoning!). Have sent posters to every vet in a 15 mile radius and will be extending this area. Sent details to loads of dog rescue centres in the south west, as printed in "The Dog Rescue Pages". I notice the 2 missng terriers i.d. no 25617 missing from DT6 (Melplash) is not far from us although the next county, as is the stolen Saluxi x from North Petherton TA6 i.d. no 26703. Makes you wonder doesn't it?.......
DogLostReynard
Sent owner Flyers of Doodle, hope all the publicity finds him soon !

Ive spoken with owner and offered further advice, they are doing all the right things with who to contact and where to poster, he should be in local paper next week. Police have been informed and a CRN obtained. Owners are very upset, we need to get this little one home, he is missed very much.Last edited: 2010-12-10 13:10:54 by dinkydoodle
Deanne
Am I just paranoid or could there be more to this incident? We have lived here for nearly 3 years and never had this type of selling here, although I have had it at our previous address. Any ideas how I can check this out?
Deanne
A neighbour has just reminded me that on the day Doodle disappeared there was a lad going door-to-door selling tea-towels, etc., out of a ruck-sack. This chap did indeed call at our house but this was about 2 hours after pup had gone. I was on the telephone when he first called and he said he would call again, which he did. I askd him if he had seen a pup on his travels, to which he replied no. He had a slight northern accent and did show some sort of i.d. on a large yellow plastic card. He told me about how he once had a dog stolen and how he consoled himself with the thought that it was a nice dog and would have found a good home. At the time I sympathised and agred with him. With hindsight I am angry. He immedately presumed that my dog had been stolen
Thorrocks0
I am very sorry to hear this. I contacted the Travellers Liason Officer at Somerset CC who was very helpful indeed and sent her pictures of my dog. My police TLO also had pictures. I suggest that you try and contact all TLO's in the South West at the County Councils.
Spindle
Sent Doodle poster to friend in Devon. If you believe Doodle is stolen you must inform the police. Get information in local paper asap too.
Deanne
We believe Doodle to have been STOLEN. He was in the garden of our house with our other older terrier with who he has a close bond. They were on their own for no more than 10 minutes, the older terrier came in looking a bit shaken and Doodle was gone! Presume somone "shooed" old dog out the way and grabbed the pup. Have been since told there are travellers in the area targetting puppies. There is LARGE REWARD offered for information leading to Doodle's return. Please help! I have two distraught children home here, as am I!!!! Thanks for all the comments posted so far! Doodle's owner - Deanne.
dinkydoodle
I'll contact and offer advice in the morning, too late now, stay safe little one.x.

Poster e mailed out to helpers in EX 13,14 and TA20.
dinkydoodle
what a little cutie Doodle is; owner can you post how he went missing - ran through open gate, under garden fence, stolen etc. Please take the advice posted below and poster as many and as quickly as you can - it's far too cold and this little one is far too young to be out on his own. I'm too far away to be of any practical help but will be watching this page. Come on Doodle.x.
