There is a dog on Battersea's site described as Staffy cross, but looks very similar to your boy. Age described as 1-2yrs old.

have you checked out FLUKE at rochdale dog rescue, under the urgent dogs list, staffordshire bull terrier male approx 10-18 months old, black with white chest and back white paw... sounds very promising there is a photo and he looks VERY similar to mason. fingers crossed...the link is http://www.rochdale-dog-rescue.com/urgentdogs.html

copied from comments box Last seen at Shrewsbury park at around 12:30 pm, only a year old and has mostly black fur but a few white patches including one on his chest and one on his back left paw. Was wearing a plain black leather collar with a silver plate fixed on to it. Please note he is not a cross, but his actual breed "Staffordshire Bull Terrier" was not listed. Many thanks
