Thanks for the email Majorjet to say this little darling is now safely at home. Ros, I am sooo relieved for you that Ruby was taken care of and you now have her back, well done the finders for doing the right thing, eventually. It just goes to show that publicity does work and you did everything possible, I said perseverance will pay off! Great that Ruby will be getting chipped too. Welcome home darling Ruby, think the cat flap will be locked from now on?!.x.

Got a call at 9pm last night from a man saying he had my dog. I didn't want to get my hopes up but he said he'd seen the poster and it had to be her. This was 7 miles from home in the middle of Bridgend. She'd been found outside the spa shop by his mother and she'd taken her in. This was 3 days after she went missing and she'd been there all that time. They had contacted the police and had also taken her the to vets at pets at home to check for microchip. I had also phoned the police and this same vets the day she went missing - the lost and found system clearly needs improving! But alls well that ends well and I know we are so lucky. Still can't believe she's home. Needless to say she'll be visiting the vets asap to be microchipped and the kind lady and her son will be getting some well deserved treats. We'll never know how she ended up in Bridegend or where she was for the first three days. I strongly suspect she was stolen from here (we're very rural and there's been attempted burgalries in the area recently) and possibly dumped when her face was all over the place on posters. She's become a doggie celeb round here! We are so grateful to everyone who has helped and I will continue to look here to see if I can help anyone else in the same horrible situation we were in. Thoughts are with those still looking and hoping they get the same happy ending we did.x.

Ros, not having been in your position of losing a dog, I can only imagine how you are feeling and it's understandable to feel despondent but you need to keep positive and keep little Ruby's profile in the public eye; it's great to see you've had her in the paper - perhaps you can get them to do an actual article (perhaps together with the missing lab)? Have you also put her details on an online free ads site like gumtree. It's great you managed to visit your local pounds in person (I know how upsetting these can be) but please do keep visiting them (or ask someone who knows Ruby to go) as the council legally only has to keep a dog for 7 days before they may be moved on. Please stay positive, thinking of you and little Ruby.x.

Depressing. Had calls but all lead to nothing (dogs that look like Ruby but are local and just wandering near their homes). Visited four dog pounds to check for myself that she isn't there and she's not. Very upsetting, especially the council pounds - just want to take them all home and give them a decent life. Newspaper ad hasn't generated any calls. Another ad next to mine - missing Lab. I called the owner and her dog has also disappeared into thin area having never wandered before. There haven't been any lost dogs in the area for ages and now two in one week. Feel guilty for not having her on our bed that night, feel guilty for not having her chipped. Will keep looking but am running low on hope.x.

scenting info sent to owners registered email account, good luck

Ros, you have done and are doing exactly the right things here, so glad to see everyone locally knows Ruby is missing - is there a chance she could get stuck down a rabbit hole? In this case, after a day or two she will hopefully have lost enough weight to pull herself back out. If you suspect she may have been taken, then please advise the police who will issue a crime ref no, although they do not have any responsibilty for missing dogs any longer but great that you have advised yours and neighbouring dog wardens and vets. Perhaps consider putting an ad in your local paper or get the local radio to put details out. Yes, do check your local pounds daily in person, much better than telephoning them. I will get a co-ord to email you scenting instructions, but please keep positive and perseverance will pay off. Just wish I was closer to help but will be following little Ruby's page daily. Good Luck.x.

She went out of the cat flap in the night. She's done it before on a couple of occasions (chasing neighbour's cat)but has always been waiting on the doorstep in the morning or I've heard her and let her back in. This time she's completely disappeared. Everyone in the village knows her and knows she's missing including game keeper and farmers. Posters in village - am starting to be convinced she's been taken as she's very friendly. I've called Vale dog warden, Swansea, Newport, Rhonda and local vets. Will go and visit dog pounds to see for myself. We are so upset and desperate to find her. Any help and advice is really appreciated.

sorry to hear little Ruby is missing, please advise of exact circumstances i.e missing on walk or wandered from house etc. If you think she may have been stolen you must register this with the police. You must also advise your Dog Warden and those in surrounding councils. You are able to print off missing posters from this site and you need to put them up everywhere to make everyone aware this little girl is missing. Place them on lampposts, dog bins, shop windows, garages, schools, pubs, clubs, local dogs rescues, anywhere which will get Ruby noticed and get her back to you. A local co-ord will be in touch with you soon to offer further advice. Good Luck, I hope you find your little girl soon, she looks so much like mine.
