Just checking after a very long time to see if any more posts, checked all found springers but unfortunately none of them Oscar. After 14 months we finally felt ready for another dog & have just got a Springer Pup 'Bailey', he has a lot to live up to but he's doing very well. We still hope for news of Oscar though Alison & JohnLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more news of Oscar since last posted. We are just hoping someone has taken him in & love him as much as we do. Still reading some of the stories here with hope he may still turn up after so long but with no more news or sightings stuck what more we can do. Alison Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I hope you find Oscar soon, he is a beautifull Springer Spaniel. The very best of luck to you both. Never give up hope! We lost our ESS last year but we got her back, not through her microchip, it was all down to the posters and dogged determination. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep going! Dora the Ibizan hound made it home for Christmas after being on the run for 4 1/2 months!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Ali and John, Sorry Oscar didn't make it back for Christmas, but its good that he is still being sighted. He's obviously getting food and water from somewhere but will naturally be stessed out. You may find it interesting to read Dora's story, an Ibizan Hound which was reunited on 22/12/04 having been on the 'run' since 5th August. You may like to give him a ring (his number is on the bottom of Dora's page 22/12/04 Ibizan Hound in the Reunited section) Ian may have some tips for you. I'm sorry I don't live nearer to be able to help (I'm in Surrey) but good luck and I'll keep watching Oscar's page for an update. Here's to a Happy New Year with Oscar!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

After 2 weeks of silence got another call today, possible sighting Hollingworth (he has been seen here before & still very close to all sightings), didn't make it home for Xmas but still hoping AlisonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Come on Oscar-come home for Christmas!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He is 'bedraggled' although still running whenever seen so he must be finding food somewhere. We were back up Sunday but he did not make an appearance or get sighted then. Over Xmas we are at my parents which is only 30mins away so we will beable to react a little quicker to sightings at least for a few days if this is still going on. Had articles in 2 local papers last week & everyone I phone(other found dogs!) has heard of Oscar so still hoping.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Ali and John-what condition is the dog in? Skinny or okay? Must be finding food-lets hope Oscar is back for Christmas.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A dog looking like Oscar (brown & white with a blue collar) has been seen running around Glossop, Derbyshire in the area of Shirebrook Park and the swimming pool. As yet nobody has been able to catch him - if you are in the area please keep you eyes peeled and try to stop him (he won't bite!)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No unfortunately nothing since the 'sighting' last Sunday. We have heard that someone managed to catch that Dog & is currently trying to find it's owners (A black & white collie) Don't know what else we can do. Had a feature in a local paper out yesterday so possibly this may generate some calls if someone has taken him in. Still hoping, Would be the best Xmas present imaginable Alison Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunatelt last night was not Oscar. It was a black & white collie type dog & unfortunately no-one was able to catch him. Not sure how many of our 'sightings' have been this dog & not Oscar although the one's in the daylight were sure it was a brown & whote dog (& 1 lady sure it was a springer) so still hopeful.... As this is a sighting of Oscar that needs following up urgently, I'm going to put his details on our website with a request that it is cross posted to other dog websites immediately, in order that we can contact anyone who is in the area to go search for him. Hope it helps. (www.k999.org.uk/forums)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
