Very shocked and upset to receive your text earlier Katie. There are no words to express how I feel for Strathy and her poor family, who loved her so very very much. I can only say how sorry we all are at DogLost, that we were unable to get her home safely. Sending healing thoughts to her loved ones, and hopeing Strathy is having fun with her new found friends at Rainbow Bridge. Bless you sweet girl xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear this news, Strathy was obviously a very much loved member of the family and will leave a massive hole in owners lives. In time I hope that they will be able to look back on her short life with a smile. My thoughts are with her devastated owners tonight. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Auntie Katie
I've just had the worst email.  Strathy has gone to the bridge.  Elisabeth and Murray I'm so so sorry,  I know how precious she was to you!  Run free at Rainbow Bridge gorgeous little girl, watch over and protect your mum and dad until you meet again!  x When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see;
The sun will rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today,
Remembering how I'd lay my head, In your lap that special way.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name, and petted me with her hand.
She said my place was ready in Heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But, as I turned to heel away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I never thought, that I would have to die.
I had so much to live for, so many sits and downs to do,
It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
I thought about our lives together, I know you must be sad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
Remember how I'd nudge your hand, and poke you with my nose?
The frisbee I would gladly chase, the bad guy, I'd "bark and hold".
If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile,
I'd wag my tail and kiss you, just so I could see you smile.
But then I fully realized, that this could never be;
For emptiness and memories, will take the place of me.
And when I thought of treats and toys, I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did, my dog-heart filled with sorrow.
But then I walked through Heaven's gate, and felt so much at home;
As God looked down and smiled at me, from His beautiful golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity, And now we welcome you,
Today your life on earth is past, But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last;
For you see, each day?s the same day, there's no longing for the past.
Now you have been so faithful, so trusting, loyal and true;
Though there were times you did things, you knew you shouldn't do.
But good dogs are forgiven, and now at last you're free;
So won't you sit here by my side, and wait right here with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart.
For every time you think of me, I'm right there, in your heart.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Look out for Strathy in Our Dogs Magazine, they're going to put her story in next weeks issue which is the one they take to Crufts so that should give her great publicity!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've had a busy day hunting for Strathy!  Wont give up until we get her home!!! I've spoken to the National Veterinary Service who distribute vet medicine nationally and they've agreed to put a poster in their deliveries to each of their 1,800 vet practices. The poster will be with NVS tomorrow morning so should be with all UK vets very soon!   Also started a facebook page which has more pictures of Strathy on it. Have a look and please join - also ask all your friends to join too http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=379625795099      Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Elisabeth e mailed PFK diectly too and seems to be working hard to make Strathy too hot to handle. I have also put her on my own F/B page and asked my friends to share -especially dog people. Is  there any local help ’on the ground’ to leaflet and poster. Whilst the focal point must be the immediate area, I think the net must also be spread wider up to national and quickly considering earlier reports of what the police are sayingthere is no guarantee she is being kept in the area necessarily. She may have been moved elsewhere by nowHopefully not but a definite possibilitywith no sightings...it seems a deliberate act of theft at the momentSo I hope the thieves take her back safely soon...because this lady will not for give up.

Hi Elisabeth and welcome on board. It is much better and easier for us if you can keep us updated in this way. I have re- done the poster and flyers for you and sent them to Katie, so hope they are what you want. I have updated the details to say VERY SUBSTANTIAL CASH REWARD offered, so I hope this brings news quickly. Josie, thank you for your offer of help. Elisabeth may like help with the postering and flyering or help searching. Do feel free to call her on the number on the DogLost temporary poster, which can be accessed by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 above the dog detail boxes left hand side (when you are newly logged in). Fingers, paws and legs crossed for getting Strathy home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in the same village as Strathy's mum and am happy to help in any way. I have spoken to a few people (including a police officer) and it seems that there were 'unsavoury characters' in the area around the time Strathy was stolen. Underground cables were stolen just up the road the very next day, those involved being traced back to potton and st neots travellers sites. May just be a coincidence but I figure any information is useful......Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Updated circumstances - Strathy just vanished from the owners farm,  there hasn't been single sign of her since, they have registered her with the police as stolen. Thank you so much for offering to help Rusty&Livvy's mum, I know Elizabeth will appreciate the support.  As you know the area is quite rural so if Strathy is running loose she could cover an awful lot of ground. I hope that now being the weekend and more people will be about we may get some news. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is Strathy missing from home or is she thought to have been stolen? I live less than half a mile from where her owners live and would be very happy to help search if Strathy is still thought to be in the area.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Strathy's mum has spent the day and evening emailing everybody she can think of,  I have also cross posted her to 5/6 Labrador Forums and emailed 12/13 Labrador rescues and added her to several facebook pages. Please let us get just a snippet of news to start on!  Stay safe precious girl until you are home with your family! x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Another photo of Strathy received, so have uploaded a multi pic, as ear carriage is different in these pics, so should be noted in order to recognise her. Thunbnail looks distorted due to rectangular pics, but if you open the poster by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 above dog detail boxes left hand side, it will open up correctly. Comments may also be left by clicking on the small blue cross above where these comments are. You will need to be registerd as a helper, and freshly logged in, to be able to do these things. Just talked to Strathy's mum.  They've contacted Steph (DW) and the police and got a crime number.  They have started to put up missing posters but will replace those with ours so they have a picture on.  They're doing all the right things and the postman is already on the look out for her.  They are also contacting the local papers/radio to try and get more coverage and are ready for a mass poster, the area is quite rural but there are several villages nearby so will attack those too. Just about to email over usual documentation.  There is a reward for Strathy so hopefully this will bring some news in quickly and get this precious girl home.  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry to hear Strathy is missing.  You need to put as many "missing" posters up as you can in the area she went missing from and surrounding areas.  It's great that she's microchipped, hopefully someone has picked her up and will take her to be scanned!  Ring local vets, dog wardens and rescue centres to she if she's been handed in as some places still don't routinely scan for chips!  hope she's home very soon!  xx
