What good news. I'm so pleased to hear that this senior Rottie lad is back home safe and sound. Of course, a huge thank you goes to the lovely lady who was there for Duke when he needed help to get him back home in the warm and to the local kennels who recommended DogLost. Welcome home Duke!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Duke is back home! Thank you so much to Jane from DogLost who was tremendously helpful and a huge thank you to Gemma who found him and to Chris and Kim who took  him in, gave him a duvet, biscuits and lots of love.  It is such a relief to find proper dog lovers who dont run away at the sight of a Rottweiler! We now have new friends in our village and Chris and Kim's dog is Duke's best mate. Thank you Dog Lost  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just received a call from a very relieved owner. Duke was picked up by a lady just down the road who phoned the local kennels and was directed to doglost. Owner is on her way to collect him now. She would like to thank doglost for the help and wishes to make a donation as she said without doglost help she doesnt think she would have found him so quickly. Welcome home Duke :o)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear DUKE is missing.
Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.
You can only print posters when you are signed in.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
keep going back to the place where your dog was last seen and leave something with their scent on it there. poster emailed to all local contacts Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not sure whether Duke had been stolen or forced his way out of the garden. Very uncharacteristic of this old fella to wander off as he is lazy, old and not in the best of health.  If you find him or see him please let me know/ensure he is returned as he needs medication to prevent onset of an arthritic-type condition in hind legs which makes him limp.
