Brilliant news that Star is home. I can't believe that kids can be so cruel, I'm sure they wouldn't like it if someone was throwing stones at them! Stay safe now Star. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The saving grace with these kids throwing stones is that they alerted the man who picked her up to the fact that she should not be tied up where she was and resulted in her getting back home - a journey of some 20 mins by car !!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had a text from alfmar & then a call from owners. Star is home - she was found tied up outside Central Milton Keynes shopping centre and was brought home by a member of the public who lived in Kempston. He had seen posters put up by owners and has reunited the family. Star will be getting her microchip along with her second jabs this week as planned now. TOO HOT TO HANDLE !!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear star is missing.poster emailed to all local contacts Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.
You can only print posters when you are signed in.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
keep going back to the place where your dog was last seen and leave something with their scent on it there. Cross posted to www.labradorforums.co.uk http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopicp-1149124.html#1149124 and here http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Animal_Rehoming_UK/messages Good luck xx

Owners think that Star was possibly stolen - she was in the yard of their work premises in KEMPSTON and had gone out for a wee, there were paw prints in the snow close to the wall and then Star was missing, a car was heard behind the wall at that time. Owners have contacted warden and vets locally. I have advised that they go back to the police and get a crime reference number. I think that posters will be key in getting thislittle one back homeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
