Incase anyone logs on to check It is Missing Bramble in Aprils addition of DOGS TODAY -which is now out on sale- as it is  printed well  in advanced it was too late to amend. However it is great that the missing write up was no longer needed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can't tell you all how excited I am to be able to say BRAMBLE IS HOME!! Just received a call from Jo who, along with the rest of the family, are over the moon to have their gorgeous girly back home. Call received earlier this evening and Bramble was reunited. She is fine, a little podgy but thankfully otherwise well. Owners worked really hard spreading the word, postering and the Find Bramble Facebook group really spread the word too. Thank you to everyone who helped. Owner would like to thank DL for its support, posters etc and will kindly be making a donation to help us continue to help others - thank you very much Jo. This has just made my day. :-)  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Just to inform you that we have picked up a stray Chocolate Labrador.  Found in London Borough of Newham on 16th January.  Have checked out the details of the above dog (21406) and think that it is unlikely to be the same one but throught I would furnish you with details just in case you want to speak to the owner. Dog is female (adult) wearing a brown leather collar with studs.  Can’t find a microchip but doesn’t mean it doesn’t have one. Chocolate in colour and ’blowing’ her coat quite severely at present.  Very ’over the top character’.  Certainly couldn’t describe her as a calm dog!  A little shorter in leg than usual but NOT petite working type. I have looked at the poster and I am fairly sure it isn’t (21406) but if an owner would like to come and look at her, then they are very welcome to make contact with us. Regards,
Sue, Animal Welfare Officer, Newham Council NOTE: This communication is sent for and on behalf of the London Borough of Newham.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear BRAMBLE is missing.
Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.
You can only print posters when you are signed in.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
keep going back to the place where your dog was last seen and leave something with their scent on it there. Cross posted to www.labradorforums.co.uk http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopict-70756.html Good luck xx

Owners almost certain Bramble was STOLEN. After Bramble and her Patterdale pal were around the farm, they disappeared.....which they do sometimes do but always return. Neighbours later - approx 6pm - heard a loud noise which they noticed (as a very rural area), looked out to see a 4x4 vehicle (believed to be an old Landrover, poss Defender, type) driving down the lane/field with no lights on. When they reached the road they drove off at speed. Immediatly after seeing this, the Patterdale ran over to neighbours from the same direction as the 4x4 had gone - so presumed he was either running after the vehicle or was thrown from it. No sign of Bramble though. Owners have contacted police, dog wardens etc and postered the local area. They will continue to poster and spread the word. Suggested local press coverage (main local radio station don't do appeals argh!) and I will also be emailing over some local numbers and contacts to try. Need to make Bramble too hot to handle....Bramble is SPAYED. Will ask CJ (Kent Co-ord) to circulate details to all her police contacts....Bramble could be moved to another area so please keep a look out and if you are local and can help with postering at all, that'd be great!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
