Do we know if the owner is going to keep her now. I think the dog as shown that it wants to be with its owner.

I completely understand what you have said.
We the rescue are based in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire but offered to help try to find a new home for Cassie for her original owner. A home was found and we had it homechecked. Of course due to distance we were not able to be at the hand over and both parties were made aware of this.
She was not a rescue dog from our rescue. So sadly as the previous owners hadnt microchipped or had a tag on her collar when she went to her new home Cassie would have only had her check chain on with no ID.
It is an unfortunate accident by all accounts and I am sure both parties wish in hindsight that she had some form of ID tag or chip.
Thank you however for your concern. :)

I am sorry if I have this wrong but surely if she has come from a rescue then she should have been micro chipped and also new owner should have been informed about the dog being tagged.  I know this does not stop them running away but at least you stand a chance of getting them back faster.   Also surely advise on when to let the dog off.    Sorry for going on but this just happens too much I just feel sorry for the poor confused dog.  If I was nearer I would be out helping.  Hope she is found soon she is obviously well loved.   When she is home a lovely tag with all phone nbrs on and a chip + big cuddles.   Fingers crossed for a fast home comming.

A photo for Cassie has been emailed into admin and will hopefully be on her page ASAP. Cassie had only recently been rehomed when she ran off. Her previous owner has been up to help in the search for her. Owners have contacted dog wardens, vets , stray kennels etc. It is the rescue involved  with rehoming that have put  her on site and they will update with any further info they receive. ~ PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
