Thanks for the text earlier dinkydoodle - I was ECSTATIC when I heard Mango was back with Claude :-) I'm glad that we were all of assistance to you Claude and I can't begin to imagine how happy you must be to finally have your boy back home where he belongs. :-) Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

brilliant news xx a big thank you to the "new"owners for a difficult decision of handing him back to original owner ..that must have been hard finding a rescue dog that was so good then to say goodbye so soon ..  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Mango, so happy for you Claude you now have your boy home, I hope the family that kindly gave him back to you can now rehome another rescue dog as there are so so many  needing homes, well done also to the DW for helping out and getting Mango back to his family, a very happy ending.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What brilliant news that Mango is back home with his original owner, Claude you must be over the moon!  Glad the Bristol helpers have been of assistance, it's what we're here for.  It is really kind of the family who adopted Mango to see that he was a much loved member of another family and had it in their heart to give him back.  They sound such caring people that I'm sure they will have room for another dog who is in desparate need of a lovely home with them.  Stay safe Mango.x.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from Claude to all who helped I just check the web site, and did not actually realized how much support i had!! I haven't got a regular access to internet so i can only log in a couple of times a week. The volunteers have been so great at postering, and i would like to really thank you all again for your help, Daisymay Doglover, and dinkydoodle, and everyone else involved.
I am really grateful that i was given the chance to get in contact with the lovely couple who took care of mango.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pleased to say that Mango is now well and truly reunited. The lovely people who had chosen to home him realised he must belong to someone who truly cared as he is such a well behaved boy. Thankyou to them for giving him back to his family. I hope they mange to find another soon, there are so many deserving lurcher needing homes. I feel that whichever one they choose will have a wonderful life.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you for the call doglover earlier as I was on my way back from a mornings postering and thanks daisymay for taking time off work to poster this morning too.  Hopefully will not be needed but for future reference, I found a very helpful town centre security man in Yate and a very helpful policeman in Chipping Sodbury police station-both are displaying Mango's poster so I will contact them and ask them to take down.  I will take the others down asap.  Brilliant news that Mango's whereabouts is known, at least he has been in a nice home since he went missing but I hope he will get back with his rightful owner at the end of the day.  Take care Mango, wherever you live.x.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to say, I adopted a lurcher recently [ another 1] !  We did suspect she might have been stolen originally . We  checked all the sites and did all we could to look, she did her 7 days at the DW, but no one came looking for her, and then she was signed over to me. I  must say  that as I suspected she might have been stolen ,   I certainly would have handed her back, had her owners been found. It would have been very hard, as I was truly smitten by her lovely sweet nature.   But    I would want someone would do that  for  me if they had my dog  Losing a dog is heartbreaking, one of the family, and then to find it again, but through a cruel twist of fate, not being able  to get it back must be agonising. We are here for you Claude, and wish you luck xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much to the dog warden for contacting doglost and for checking the site each day. Whatever happens at least we know Mango is safe. I do hope the new owners let him go to his family who he  must be missing, If I were them I would be looking at him and wondering if he misses them as they were his life for so long.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news Mango is safe, as at the end of the day that's what its all about, but what a difficult situation ???   Just goes to show how quick dogs can move through the system and be rehomed.I have just spoken to Dinkydoodle and told her the news and she was on her way back from postering LOADS for mango !!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

another sad case due to chip details not being up dated!! its going to cause heart break either way now for the new family or Mango's owners. i hope that it can be resolved amicably. It was great the dogwarden is willing to help and that she happened to log in and spot the dog as missing. if not then it would never have come to light and owners would never know what happened.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Mango has been located. He has been rehomed legally after  7 days chip details were found to be out of date. Legally new owners details cannot be given out to us but the warden involved has kindly agreed to drop a letter off with new family from the owner to explain the situation and they may find it in their hearts to give Mango up..... Owner did update his details with petlog 1 week ago..but petlog did not inform him that they knew where his dog was?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoke to owner, Yate will need to be postered again, sounds like posters have disintegated in the rain. Using plastic covers will help. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email from owner He went missing from the farm where I was staying, he went for a wonder by himself, and unfortunately, disappeared. i personnaly think he was taken by somebody. I have put lots of posters in the area, went to speak to all neighbours and dog wardens. Somebody rang me to tell me that a dog of his description was seen in a transit van, around Yate industrial estate. So i went to a few traveler site to see if anybody had picked him up, but i didnt have any success in finding him. I spent 2 weeks, driving around, asking people and putting posters up. Mango is chipped so I don't think it likely that he is the one found in Kent but it is always worth checking. I have sent an email requesting a photo and offering advice. Also asked for more infomation on how he came to be missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
